One would not believe that the very young looking Miss Goldenweek was actually twenty one, which in itself is still young. In addition to being very short, the girl's two braids and mismatched clothing only reinforced the assumptions one might make.
Marigold Goldenweek has a lively sense of humor and a very casual nature, rarely complying with a need to rush. However, this does not degrade her intelligent, witty mind. Miss Goldenweek changes faces frequently, saying whatever it is that she needs to in order to achieve her goal. If you get right down to her sole personality, though, you would simply find a humorous, calm person.
A paintbrush and tray, splashed with an array of colors, can often be found with her. Other than that, Miss Goldenweek has no notable equipment.
Marigold Goldenweek grew up the daughter of a modest fisherman, Bon Kurei Goldenweek, and his modest baker wife, Boa Sandersonia Goldenweek-Lynstrum. Given that both her parents detested their middle names, she was not given one.
This perfectly normal couple raised their perfectly normal daughter in their perfectly normal cabin on the perfectly normal shores of Old Elencia, just a few miles away from the Dulcit Ruins, the town where her father had been raised. After he and Boa met during one of the woman's infrequent trips into the town, they quickly fell in love, inheriting the shore side cabin from Boa's parents once they passed. Marigold was perfectly happy with her life, grateful for her kind, loving, hardworking parents and her own witty mind. She did not pursuit either of her parent's professions, instead taking a great interest in painting (somewhat to their dismay). During the holidays, gifts of painting supplies were always given to her. Marigold had only the talent of her own determination and the long, boring days, the empty void which she painted over.
In the backwoods cabin, Marigold rarely received new clothing, her parents living on a tight income. She did learn to read and write from her father, who had attended formal schooling in the city as a boy. All in all, Miss Goldenweek almost always looked quite silly, having learned absolutely no fashion sense.
Once she reached the age of eighteen, Marigold left her home, taking only a loan from her parents and two loaves of her mother's best bread. The couple was concerned for her future, but let her go anyways, seeing Marigold's determination.
Less than two months in the city revealed that the girl would not make enough money to support herself with simple artist's odd jobs. She was about to sulkily return to her parents and learn one of their trades when she heard of the incoming visitors. Miss Goldenweek began attending all the town hall meetings, getting in close with the local politicians, and before long, her soft eyes and kind words earned her the position of Ambassador Goldenweek. Now living in a small apartment in the heart of the Dulcit Ruins, Marigold is known as Miss Goldenweek to the public, and is pioneering the area's contact with the Garlyle Forces.
