Amanda walked through the main hangout for all drapes [call it what ever you want], sighing as a group of male drapes showed off to a group off girls. she weaved her way to an empty place to sit down, watching the people walk around a converse. "I'm even an outcast among drapes, wonderful." she said, leaning back and closing her eyes, listening to the people around her.

Duncan chilled out in the parking lot, a new cigarette in between his pale lips as he watched the people just keep coming. The hangout had always been over packed ever since the Squares declared war on them. all the drapes gathered either to get away from all the craziness or make plans for the next rumble that never seemed to happen. he frankly didn't care but he would fight if asked too. he scanned the area, seeing Amanda weave her way through the crowd, "At least i know someone here." he said, blowing out a puff of smoke as he continued to watch people arrive.

Anabeth looked around the parking lot causeusly even though she was a drape she still ewas vary careful. She had been very jumpy latly, so many things were happening at once. She smiled when she saw Duncan hed help her sourt this out Hay Slick she called I need to tallk to you!

Colleen was on her way home from school her books clutched to her chest, humming "That'll be the Day", as she went along. Her parents had warned her not to walk this way home but she didn't listen; she thought they were just being over protective. Thats when she glanced across the street and noticed a bunch of drapes hanging out. Her parents hated the obsession she had with the delinquent teens. She smiled she never really understood what everyone had against them. She saw a guy outside in the parking lot, a guy she knew from school his name was Duncan. She bit her lip and decided she should probably keep moving, so after standing a watching for a minute or two she continued on.

When she got home her mother was warming up TV dinners and her little brother was firmly planted in front of the TV his typical spot. "I'm home", she called her mother poked her head out of the kitchen and smiled then made her way back into the kitchen. Colleen knew she was in there reading a romance novel and didn't want to bother her. So she went upstairs to her room and put a Elvis album on the turntable.

Duncan looked up when Anabeth yelled at him, "What ya want?" he asked, leaning up against his car.

Amanda stood up, "Well this is a waste of my time." she said, walking in the opposite direction of the flowing crowd. she squeezed her way out onto the parking lot, running into someone. "Oh, sorry dude." she said, looking up.

Well hello crancky creg wake up on the wroung side of the lot." she said teaseinngly. Anyway maby you can help me you see i,m vary stressed right now, what with a rumbel brakingg out at any moment. I was just wondering should we really be fighting the drapes i man it woun,t change any thing so why fight." she asked ciriusly

Duncan looked confused, "If you mean "Should we be fighting the "squares" then, i guess, if they want this war then they'll get a war." he said, putting out his cigarette. he looked around, trying to pick out the brawlers from the people that just wanna have fun, "Besides, some people are taking this seriously." he said, watching Amanda run into a square.

"Colleen telephone!", Colleens mother called up the stairs; Colleen came running and she was handed the phone in the hallway.

"Hello?", she said "Colleen! you need to come here quick the drapes and the squares are about to rumble", said the voice of Colleens wishy, washy friend Shirley. Shirley was her friend when she wanted something, like help with homework, or to cheat on a test. "Why would I want to go see somebody fight each other?", said Colleen.

"Why...why really are you that loopy, cause anybody who's anybody is going to be there, and if your not, well your not cool or hip so you have to come. You don't have to fight, you can sit on the sidelines and watch like I am", said Shirley.

Colleen sighed it was these kind of things that reeled her in and got her in trouble but she didn't want to be the only un-hip kid at school, "All right where is it?", she asked.

After another five minute conversation with Shirley Colleen was on her way she told her mother and her father as he pulled in to the drive way that she was going to a friends house to study for a big test. An excuse that Colleen had used many times before and her parents haven't had a reason to not believe her. When she met up with Shirley at the end of the block the girls quickly, jogged to where they were going. Colleen was surprised it was the same lot she had passed that afternoon coming home from school. "Shirley nothings going on her I just passed it a couple of hours ago", she said as stood against a picked fence across the street. "No , Amy told me and Mary told her, and Lisa told her that there was going to be a rumble here", said Shirley.

"Well did you notice Amy, Mary and Lisa aren't here", said Colleen giving an sarcastic look at Shirley; she sighed and sat down leaning against the fence. "Well I guess we can stick around for a little while but, I'll have to go home before it gets to late Shirley", said Colleen. She smiled as she watched Duncan and the others, she never really understood whats so bad about the Drapes any way.

"Oh sorry" Anabeth said scrambuleing back to the lot. She was usually more cool headed with the squares, but with war about to brake out it was best to play it safe.

Duncan watch the two square girl place themselves up against the wall to to far from him, he smiled at them briefly before returning his attention to Anabeth.

Amanda picked herself up, and walked away, not bothering to get the know the strangely silent person she just ran into. She looked back towards the hangout, seeing to squares perfectly out of place. she placed herself close to them, saying hi the Duncan and Anabeth before lighting herself a cigarette.

Anabeth noticed amanda waveing she waved back, she was about to read The case of Amadillo when a femiluer voice said hay Angel.

She shighed Alfrid how many times have i told you not to interupt me when im reading
