History/Bio: Born on the planet of Gwyeene in the Kingdom of Sor to middle-class horse-breeders, Girthfield spent all of his childhood and teenage years in the countryside. Though highly active and with a winning streak at the county races, Girthfield was an introverted young man. He studied literature, practice mechanics, and did not engage in any mischief. Girthfield was taught in bladed combat by a retired Knight in the area, former famed Phoenix hunter Sir Zander Klopf. Girthfied applied for the Knights of Sor once, travelling three days to reach the nearest major city to apply when a recruiter had visited, but was rejected due to a diagnosis of melancholia.
With a deep sense of justice and morality Girthfield had considered joining the county guard. But he never did, instead spending the rest of his young adult life doing odd-jobs in his county. He eventually landed a job with the Selonix Company, a Sorillian exporter, and managed one of their warehouse shipping hangars on the planet. This would all change with the fall of the Sora System and the subsequent Oblivionite Invasion. With the Selonix company in shambles, the Knights gone, and the planet facing an unstoppable threat the Gwyeenish resistance was founded, operating mainly out of the countryside after the major Gwyeenish cities had fallen. Girthfield joined and soon rose in the ranks, leading major offensives against the Oblivionite enemy.
By the end of the war the resistance had begun to decimate the remaining Oblivionite forces on the planet. Girthfield would eventually face down the tyrannical Oblivionite Commander Barbarite Thorn and slay her in combat, thus earning him the title Hero of Gwyeene. Once the war was over Girthfield considered starting his own company, based out of the relatively stable Gwyeene, and using his mechanics skills to create ships, or perhaps help in running the new Gwyeenish Republican Guard. All of these felt small in comparison when he was contacted by the guardians, scouting out new members across the systems. Girthfield joined, and has been with the guardians almost ten years. The Rock is his latest, and perhaps most hostile, assignment.
Equipment and Weapons: Girthfield carries a long sword from his Guardian missions in Dark Space. He also carries on him a knife and a pistol, and is ready for anything.
Styles, Powers, and Abilities: Girthfield is a skilled mechanic and sword-fighter, his style reminiscent of the old Phoenix Hunting Knights of ages past. He often uses his opponent’s energy against them, and is defensive in combat until he is close enough to strike.
