Name: Torrey L. Caelum
Age: 17

Personality:
Tor was raised not really knowing what it was to be "normal," as she likes to call it, and as such, she likes to meet people outside of her social class. That said, she tries not to judge based on familial connections only, for she has had bad experiences with it in the past. Tor loves to go out, be it partying, taking her little brother somewhere, or spending time with her older cousin, Eli. She is very vocal about her opinions, something that has always been a bone of contention with her parents. While she likes to go out and socialize, most of the people she has met have not really been looking for the same thing she has: a chance to break free from the trappings of her relatively sheltered life. Though she and her parents don't agree to much on her hanging out with people who don't have connections with their family, her parents have agreed to let her do as she pleases as long as she agrees to put on a dress and a smile when it is time for them to host a function.

History:
Tor was raised as the gem of her family. Born into a family of "old money", her parents made sure that her upbringing was as glamourous as possible. Unfortunately, as the only girl child of her family, she never really had any female influences other than her mother, and as such didn't turn out to be the little princess daddy wanted. At one point her father decided it would be a good idea to arrange play dates with other children. It didn't work out, as Tor was very upfront about her feelings, and would often upset the parents of the children with her frankness. That, and he was gaining nothing from the connection between his child and the other children.
Her parents have never allowed her to have any summer or part-time jobs, and for most of her life, she was home schooled by a tutor her parents hired. It wasn't until she came of high school age that they decided she would attend a local private school. It was after she started school that she realized she wasn't really cut out for the life of the rich and famous. She found herself being pushed and pulled in all sorts of directions by the people whom she thought were looking out for her but were actually just looking for the same connections her father had been seeking through her as a child. She felt like nothing more than a pawn in a game she didn't know she was playing. So she sought out people who didn't even go to the same school or knew of her father's wealth. It was a hard thing to do, but she eventually found a few people who she hangs out with regularly and who don't have their eyes set on her inheritance.
It has always puzzled her as to why she can never mention "them" -- that is, the family that lives across the street. For as long as she can remember, she was not allowed to interact with them. She has heard plenty about them; about how they are no better than a dog with shiny new coat but still a mutt on the inside. About how they got to where they were by scheming and clawing their way to the top. She is wary to believe them due to the fact that she feels they are no better. Try as she might to get her parents to at least tell her more than slanderous things about the family across the street, she has only succeeded in being told to go to her room and think before she asks for such stupid things. The only time she has even come close to having an exchange with them is when she was returning home from school one day and she saw a boy her couple of boys her age going up the front lawn. She didn't have the guts to say hello (she was with her cousin and knew he would tell her parents). Since then, she has been even more curious; however, whenever she brings it up, as usual when "they" are brought up, her mother and father fly into a furious rage.

Family:
Tor lives with her mother, father, and a troubled younger brother, Orion (13) who looks up to her. She also has an older cousin, Eli (20) who has lived with them since she can remember, and whom she is very attached to. They often hang out at the local beach and she often looks to him for help with all of her problems.

Other?:
Her favorite thing to do is play frisbee on the beach.
