Brendan Getsus's Story

Brendan Getsus
Brendan looked out the giant window of his new mansion. He could see the peaks of the mountains, and the valleys down below. He could almost visualize the tourists crowding in like a giant wave crashing against the shore.

After looking outside for a couple of minutes, Brendan headed towards the control room, where maps and statistics were kept. It was a dark room, lit only by the lights of the hologram maps and computers that were kept inside.

Brendan headed towards a big table in the center of the room that showed a map of the entire Dimension. The areas where Brendan had conquered were covered in red, while the areas that still needed to be conquered were covered in green.

All of the mountainous regions and the areas that were close to water where blanketed in a deep red. It seemed as if about 45% of the entire map was covered in red. Brendan took small steps in the beginning, keeping his existence in the dimension a secret, but as he seized more and more land, he started to take larger steps. This made his presence known to the creatures and peoples of the dimension. Since Brendan was doing so well at capturing the land, he decided that his fellow workers could use a break, and he would take small steps again.

Brendan was moving his finger over the hologram, selecting which area he would conquer next. His finger landed on an area by the sea. A small village was located there. It would be the first time his troops would raid a village. Brendan moved over to an intercom system. The messages sent by intercom would be delivered to an agent via walkie-talkie. Brendan used a switch to send the message to the agent closest to the village, and said,

"I need you to start advancing east. There is a small village close by you, and i think it would make a perfect place to put some sort of.....oh i don't know....headquarters? Round up the shadow bugs, and get moving, NOW."

Aron

".....Round up the shadow bugs, and get moving, NOW."
"Roger that.", Aron said, speaking clearly into the microphone. Aron didn't want to stop just sitting under the shade of the tree near him, but if it was Brendan Getsus, things needed to be done. Aron looked around, making sure he had everything, then pulled out the paper map from his pocket as well as his compass. Once he knew where he was going, he started to walk.

Aron was completely disgusted with the work that he had to do. Getsus had told the assistants that the shadow bugs couldn't do very much damage, but Aron had seen them kill other animals and wildlife. Aron couldn't help but feel guilty almost every day, like he was carrying the earth, the sun, the moon, and the stars all on his back. He didn't dare talk about what he felt with Getsus, for fear that he would go back to the slums of his old life.

Aron continued to walk, not completely sure where he was going, until he heard the beautiful sounds of a piano. This made Aron extremely curious, and he followed the sound until he came across two ladies located under a blue tree by a golden river. Aron tried his best to hide from the two girls's view. He hadn't heard such a beautiful song in ages, and slowly, Aron began to forget what he was doing.

Brendan

Bendan could hear his assistant, Aron's voice saying, "Roger that." on the other side of the line. Brendan then walked out of the room, and noticed his son, Jason, alone out on the front porch. Brendan sat next to him, and said,
"hey, sport. watcha doin? Wanna have some lunch soon? the cook's making some sandwichs right now."

Aron
Aron's eyes started to open as he realized there were two young girls around him, and there was a large fire around all three. Aron quickly got up to his feet, not thinking about the pain still in his ankle, (although it wasn't as bad as before) and said,
"You girls gotta get outta here! now!!!"

Aron started to run and motioned them to come with him. When Aron got to the clearing that was blocked off by the shadow bugs, he pulled out the jar, and said, "SWITCH!!!" The shadow bugs changed back into dust, and transported back into the jar. It was almost like sand being swept up into a vacuum cleaner.

Once Aron got out of the burning village, he kept running through the forest, until he made it to a beautiful beach with white sand. It looked out into the ocean, and Aron could see the orange sun setting against the horizon.

Aron collapsed on the sands and started panting. He had been running for a while, and he was exhausted.
Once Aron regained his composure, he sat by the waves, and looked out into the horizon. He wondered whether those two girls made it out alive. Then he wondered why they had chosen to stay with him while he was unconcious from the poison. Why would the citizens grant so much kindness to the enemy? It only made Aron's depression grow stronger. The weight on his shoulders grew stronger, and he wished he could just fade into dust like the shadow bugs.

Brendan Getsus

Brendan watched as part of the green on the map turned into a bright red. Brendan made a devious smile as he learned that his mission was complete, and now 50% of the dimension was now under his control. He decided to wait until it was night. Then, he would tell all his assistants the wonderful news.
