"Mark! Wake up!" his boss snapped. He rubbed his eyes, "eh? What is it now?" he whined.
"A murder case," Lance told him. Ed sprang out of his seat, "really? This is exciting!" He grinned, "let's go!"

Then it hits her. The smell of blood....what's happen? Georgi goes to investgate.

"It's not a box," Ed told him, "It's a book, and it has…" he trailed off, "some type of weird acronym of a title, and no author," he brushed off the cover.
"What's the acronym?" Lance asked.
"M.A.R.K… hey it's my last name, weird…" Edwin grinned, "might has something to do with me," opened to the first page.
"Not now, Ed," Lance pushed it back to close, "we have some other things to find," he told him. Ed nodded.

Georgi contiued to follow the scent, when she passed by two men. At first they seemed like ordinary guys, but when she got a whiff of them, the both smelled of the same scent of blood she had picked up. Georgi stopped abruptedly.

"Detective Mark?" A small voice asked. It was Eli, a college student at U of CU (University of Central Undertown), who had applied for the job not that long ago, was now on the top of the student internship program, and a really good fire codeist.
"Eh?" Ed leaned back in his chair, turning his attention to Eli. Eli was a cute uke in Ed's personal opinion, and very passive, despite his rank.
"I found something on the kitchen counter, I think you and Chief Armston should take a look at it," he handed him a piece of paper.
"Lance left to go test some samples, so I'll read it," Ed took the piece of paper.
To the man who receives the book:
I feel sorry for you, and wish you good heath. The book has been good to me, but I must end my life… For I used this information for my own, and received the truth… You will find that things are not always what they seem… and the book will guide your way, as it did for me… but you must trust it, since it is natural for me to disobey it's orders, despite the dangers ahead… Do not go against it, since it is for your own good… it will save many lives, if you listen… it wants to help… I will tell you something… beware of the River… The River will kill mercilessly, and take what is rightfully theirs…

The guys stopped and turned around to her. "What topsoiler? We're busy you know," one of the men said. Georgi narrowed her eyes. "I don't give a care, okay?" she said in a threatening voice. One of the guys-probably a newbie-took a step backwards. "Hey girly, don't-"
"Why do you smell of blood?"
"Blood?"
"Yes," she said slowly. "Blood. Why do you two smell of blood?"
The other guy-the older one-stepped forward. "We're dectives, and we are just leaving a murder scene, okay? Does that answer your question?"
Georgi nodded. "Yes. Now, could I speak to whoever is in charge?" The younger guy snorted with laughter. "You? See Edwin Mark, captain of our force? Never!"
She smiles slyly. "Why thank you for telling me his name. Now, will you take me to him, or shall I find him on my own?"
The older guy elbowed his partner. "Good going!" Then he looked back to me. "Why do you want to see him? What's your business?"
Georgi shrugged. "He might have something I need."
The older guy eyed her suspiously. "Okay, but don't try anything funny, you hear me?"
She smiled. "I hear you."

"Well, I am in the… wait! Aren't you a little worried about the note in the book?" he asked, catching himself.
"Yes, I am," he smirked, "but I need some booze to help me think better," Ed told him.
"Lance did tell me of your alcohol problems…" He sighed. Ed only grinned, "don't worry, he's much worse than me," he patted Eli on the shoulders, almost toppling the small man over.

Georgi pricked her ears. Did she hear someone? No, it was more like she felt someone. She stopped and scanned the crowd. There! Two other guys were walking in the opposite direction. The taller man caught her eye first. Something about him screamed "Hey!" Yet he didn't seem like the person who would go far to recieve attention.
Her escorts realized that she stopped and turned back to her. "Something wrong?" the older guy asked.
"Yeah. Who's-" Georgi flicked one of her 6 tails at the tall guy, "that?"
"Oh, that's Edwin," the older guy whispered to his younger companion. "Don't tell her that, though. Maybe when she doesn't find him at headquarters she'll leave." Ha, like they could hide that from me!
Georgi smiled. "So that's Edwin." The two guys looked at her in surprised. She shrugs. "Don't think you can keep things from me by whispering. I can hear better than you."
"What?" the younger guy said nervously. "We weren't trying to-"
"Don't bother lying either," she said. "Just take me to him this instant."

"Officer Talumd, Officer Benit, what brings you here on such a fine days," he turned toward them. Eli straighten himself up, despite the obvious size between the two men. Ed saw a female poking not far from the officers, and smiled, "Ah, who is this?" he asked. The officers almost broke into a sweat, "Ah… she wishes to see you, sir! We were trying-" Eli cut them off, "you both know not to leek out any information about the case or your bosses, you know that," he snapped. Officer Talumd spoke first, "I'm sorry, but the woman got it out of us!" He explained, and Officer Benit added, "she is very curious, Detective! A Kitsune, in fact!" he told Ed.
"Let me see this 'curious' woman kitsune, and if she is really 'curious', I will interrogate her as much as I can," he gave a smile, almost making Office Talumd feint (He was uke, of course) having Officer Benit to steady him.

Collectibles
