"Hurry up Leo, you know I don't have time for this, I have to head to work, make sure you tell Franklin to drop you off at welcome party, no more walking, we have a driver for a reason, so use him." His oh so happy mother is yet bossy again. It was always like this whenever she was running late or trying to go into her 'impress everyone' mode. This was one thing Leo didn't really get, why did someone have to impress anyone? He never had trouble getting people to like him. And the oh so welcome party she's talking about, was something she always did after he'd leave for the summers and come back, just to show him off to the young ladies that are rich and single.
"I'm sure Franklin doesn't mind me walking, besides it's good for my Athletics." Leo patted his belly as he walked over to the kitchen pouring himself some mocha that the maid had made for them.
Sure he wasn't the richest out of all the Elites, but his family did have a great share of money on them. They weren't poor, but not filthy rich either. It was a decent living and it was comfortable.
Leo glanced at the kitchen stereo, once again his mother played the Pride & Prejudice station on Pandora. One would think she'd get tired of hearing the same tune every morning.
"Oh and Leo, remember, your father and I must talk to you soon, perhaps dinner a week after today. Right and we would be having a guest. Cheerio love." She gave him a serious look and waved as she went out the door faster than he could reject the request. A dinner with one of his parents was never good, let alone both. And then a...guest?
"You should prepare yourself for that dinner Young Master Warren. You're in for a very interesting treat. Ah and the welcome party, I'm sure it's going to be very welcoming indeed." Bruce their house Butler walked in holding a small kennel.
"I've learned to never be surprised with those two. Anyways, what is that?" Leo eyed the kennel questionably.
"Ah yes!" Bruce said as he had almost forgotten all about it. "It would seem I have found a batch of kittens placed in a box just down the road, I wanted to find them homes instead of leaving them out there." He said as he wiggled his finger inside the kennel's metal door.
"If it's not that many, you should just keep them, I'm sure they are better off with you." After all the guy was cat obsessed. Leo knew this for a long time. Bruce was the one who pretty much raised him ever since he could remember. Plus, he always did treat Leo very special, mainly because of his name.
Bruce smiled and nodded his head just as he glanced at the time. "Perhaps you should take that ride, you might be late if you walk." He said as he walked over and knelt down to fix Leo's lace to his shoe.
"Do I really have to go? I could just meet a girl at school or something. The parties are just a waste of time. That time could be used for better things." Leo itched the side of his neck and drank the rest of his mom's tea that she left on the counter.
Bruce gave him an odd look. "We have plenty of tea, if you wanted some-"
"Don't worry about it. Besides, it was still hot and not wasteful." He flipped out his phone made a quick text and left out the door. There was no way he was going to go, even if he did dress a for it. He needed to find a way out.
