Hope Summers

Female

16

Appearance:
Image She is a Filipina girl in her late teenage years. She has the usual Asian/Phillipino features, long brown hair that is a little longer than shoulder length and chocolate brown eyes. Her height is 5'2. Making her somewhat short in stature and has a wonderful slim yet curvacious figure too and her weight is estimated to be 173lbs but she hates discussing such matters with people. Her sense of fashion varies too.

Powers:

Empathic Power Mimicry: The limits of this power have yet to be reached or determined. She does not need to physically touch her subjects , nor does it appear as though her using an individual's powers subtracts at all from their own power level. It appears that Gwen needs to be in close proximity to subjects to exhibit their powers, and that powers fade with distance from subject. Gwen is able to copy the powers of those around you via an emotion associated with the powers and use them as their own, this may be temporary or even permanent and instantly knows how to use this power. She can also mimic mutant powers at their utmost capacity. However, she generates power levels that are potentially dangerous to people and the environment around her.

Phoenix Force

And possibly a few others too, but I cannot be bothered to mention them but they will mainly be rock songs ^_^.
Extra:
She has a tattoo on her back of a butterfly. The reason for this is not properly known to why yet. And has one on her wrist that says 'Byron-Verceles' in fancy writing. Her family name.

Personality

Gwendolyn Byron-Verceles is, to say the least, a walking set of contradictions. She is lazy but at the same time academically hard working... it is strange as even though she is one of the most unmotivated people around, she has the ability to work to the best of her ability whenever she feels like it. The girl is a diamond in the rough, occasionally foulmouthed and sarcastic. But the girl sees the bright side to most things and is rather... encouraging, with compliments or insults.

And when it comes to fighting, she isn't exactly too afraid to get her hands dirty either. She loves a good hair pulling as sometimes, despite her optimistic behavior, seeing someone upset or hurt in some sort of way puts her in a better mood. Gwen never understood why this was but still, she cannot help feeling this way sometimes. She doesn't like gaining sympathy or sympathizing with other people as it just isn't her style and it hides her fears and insecurities inside. Which if exploited can show a more angry side of Gwen. A more disorientated, violent side of her that she hardly shows along with her more emotional side as they are usually hidden in a 'box'. When angry she does lash out. And pack a punch, so at times she has to be held back.

Also, Gwen is afraid. Unable to reciprocate affection since she hadn't exactly received it herself and her self-esteem is rather low too, so any affection given to her such as hugs and such she is uncomfortable with too. Though she wouldn't be used to it and finds it hard to show affection back. Though if she does, whoever she shows it too obviously has affected her in a positive way and then finds it hard to let go of those who make marks in her life.

Equipment

Items:
She has a belly button piercing and two tattoos, one on her left shoulder of a lotus flower and one on her lower left back of a swirly patterned bird. And carries around essentials such as her phone, keys and passes at all times.
Weapons:
None as she relies more on her powers to help her out with weaponry.

History

Gwendolyn suffered a terrible life, even after the explosion. Raised with abuse from her father as her mum goes out in the night to work, do drugs and sleep with other men for most of her life, she found it hard to cope for some reason. She was raised with a lack of dignity and self-esteem and always wanted the world to go away. She was popular through her school years though because of her looks and such but she had a tough childhood behind the cheerful visage of the girl they once knew. Whom also developed a more cruel personality inside, one who lunges out at sudden signs of weakness from her. She hated it, living two lives, two lies. Lying about being sad in school and lying about being happy at home. She took the abuse and was too afraid to tell anyone about it.

So, after some time, building up stress and hidden hatred, she managed to run away from home after her mother died of drug overdose. She couldn't take it anymore and was now on the streets for some time. Finding it hard to scavenge for food and trying to obtain moneys in many ways. And luckily managed to survive off for a while on feeding and such. While police tried to find her due to her father actually bothering to make calls about her disappearance. An abnormal explosion occurred, affecting her and many other lives. She was damaged and confused more, especially after obtaining the powers of the mutant messiah, Hope Summers.

Since then, everything changed for her, when around others with powers... mutants to be specific, she managed to adapt to their new abilities and survive better in the streets. Now with a stronger reform than before and found refuge within the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Now training there to adapt to her powers better, she was now learning there. Hoping she could finally find 'home' here and then everything could be much better for her.

So begins...

Gwendolyn was sitting on a bench in the streets, earphones in. The world out. That's how she saw it and she'd prefer it that way. Humming to the tune softly as she watched cars go past, it passed the time for a moment. The brunette kept her handbag beside her as she gazed, then looked to the sky in disgust. "One day, I'll end up up there and when I do, you'll fear my wrath." She mumbled as she took one leg off the other, sitting up straight and rubbing an eye. She was tired from a long working day. Why is the world like this? Gwen asked herself silently and sighed. She felt miserable, pure miserable and that was only because she was tired. Tired, stressed and just really negative today.

She then decided to get a bottle out of her black handbag, which matched the shirt under her green/khaki jacket and sipped some. Closing her eyes as the taste of the coldness trickled down her aching throat. After complaining a worker in a local supermarket about the pricing of drinks. Her throat was sore. Then after a few more, one or two gulps she placed it back into the handbag after screwing the lid back on again and sighed. She bit her lip as she then stood up, placing strands of hair behind her left ear and made her leave, walking in black flats and dark jeans.

The Filipina girl kept walking, past houses and streets, it was a very ordinary day for her. Too ordinary. She didn't like it at all. It was boring, really, ultimately, stupidly boring. She looked at the nearby bus stop as she walked and decided she'd get that back to her 'home' instead of walking, her legs ached and everything. So she'd rather wait.

The bus stop said 10 minutes.

Well, it better be worth that wait then... She thought as she snuggled up in her coat, all chilled and relaxed inside. But then the clouds in the sky caught her attention, she obnoxiously raised an eyebrow as the white puffs of fluff flew by over her head and over the many buildings that are ever so tall. Why do you clouds exist..? She thought about the clouds floating by and sighed again. Now mentally questioning her own life, why is she still here after all her fathers abuse against her? Why? Oh why?

Because she was stronger than she gave herself credit for, that's why. Now, 7 minutes until the bus arrived and then Gwen sighed again, her brown hair falling back into it's original place. Which funnily enough didn't bother her this time, and she laughed to herself before placing a leg on the other again. I guess being misunderstood is pretty much an understatement at best... She then thought and pursed her lips before tilting up again, looking to the clouds and the beautiful sky, sighing contently as her mind drifts off somewhere, far away because she hated this, the cold and the waiting, the fake love and the hating. It was something she didn't enjoy in the world, something that made the world cruel in her eyes.

Gwendolyn Yvonne Byron-Verceles hated it with a major hating passion, that's for sure.
