Name:
Annaleah Harris
Age:
Eighteen
Species:
Mage/Electricity
Time Institutionalized:
Three weeks

Personality:
"I'm a bit of a weirdo, really."

Annaleah was never a girl who liked to blend in or be a wallflower, though you couldn't really say she was a popular individual. She's quirky and a little bit wild too. Most people who meet her don't have the faintest clue how to react. If you're in the middle of a serious conversation and she gets the urge to make a silly face, she'll do just that. If she's walking down the street and her favorite song comes on, she doesn't have a problem bursting out into the world's most awkward dance right there in the middle of the street. She really couldn't care less what people think about it. She does, wears, and acts as she pleases.

She's also very tolerant and accepting of other people, regardless of their appearance, sexual orientation, or mental/physical disabilities. The world has so many kinds of people and she's out to make friends of them all. However, she will not tolerate bullying or unwarranted rudeness of any kind and will not hesitate to stand up for anyone who deserves it.

The downside to Annie's seemingly unending acceptance and kind demeanor, is that she is quite gullible and will believe nearly anything you tell her. It's part of the reason she's in the mental institution. She told her family that she thought she may have some 'special abilities,' just trying to be honest, and all of the sudden she found herself being told she was a mentally ill, schizophrenic. This did put a little damper on her always happy, always carefree personality, and though she's still trying to hold onto it, the longer she remains institutionalized the harder it becomes.

Appearance:
"It's a little strange, but I'm happy with it."

Body:

The Harris family has a very long history of tall, thin, booby-licious women despite their insatiable appetites. Anna is no exception to this. She stands at 5'9, barely weighs 125 pounds and can finish a taco party pack from Taco Bell like it's nothing. She won the genetic lottery in this particular area.

Hair:

Her hair is quite long, having not cut it for the last three or four years. It's also naturally blonde, though people often question her about it because her roots are slightly darker than the rest of her hair. She doesn't style it a majority of the time, leaving it stick straight, but when she does she really enjoys the look of loose curls. It's rare that her hair is up unless she's doing her make up.

Eyes:

Her eyes are quite a striking shade of gray that she inherited from her father. For the most part they one solid color until you get to the outer ring, which is quite a bit darker: maybe even black. She also has quite strong eyebrows, something she was embarrassed about during her younger years though she has grown to embrace them as a part of herself. You could even say they're her favorite feature nowadays.

Make up:

If she's going out on the town, she spares no expense to dressing up her face, and her eye make up can be considered a bit too much for the average person to wear out. She doesn't often wear it so dark or creatively, though. Most days she goes for simple eyeliner and red lip.

Amanda Jenssen - Amarula Tree

Oh, it moves me without a touch
People say that I think too much
But I'm as happy as I can be
Hanging by my Amarula tree

I'm a dreamer and I dream of what will be
A better destiny
I'm a dreamer, and as far as I can see
Amarula trees
I'm a dreamer and I dream of what will be
A better world for you and me

So begins...

Few people at the institution actually knew who Death was. To most, she was just a nurse who was around a lot more often than the others. She was the doctors secret weapon, they thought that they controlled her. It was funny actually, since she was the one who planted the whole idea in their minds. But, they were men, she would let them have their way for now. When it came time they would see that, well they never had any leverage on her and really, they couldn't have stopped her if she wanted to kill them all right then. Don't worry, she didn't. The patients in the institution were important to her, especially one man. Unfortunately she had gotten here a little too late, and most of them were already brainwashed. There was still a select few though, that she had hopes for. Two mages, two werewolves, a shifter, and a vampire.

There was another man too, but that was something a bit different.

Currently, she was walking the hallways and knocking twice on each door, as per the usual morning wake up call. They all had about ten minutes then, to get up and get ready before heading down to the breakfast hall. After breakfast they were free to do as they pleased until lunch. Though instead of going back to free time, after lunch they were paired up for one on one. Usually the mages were put together, then the werewolves. Since there was currently only one shifter and one vampire, they were paired up. This was the time they got to sort of bond, talk about whatever. Though they were encouraged to talk about their recent 'episodes', in case they thought they were actually supernatural again. They always sent one of the nurses or doctors to sit with the "special" case, Galen Blare. She was usually quick to volunteer, since she had long since deemed him the one that she would corrupt. It was her goal to remind these creatures that they weren't normal.

Knocking on the last door, she turned back around and headed towards the breakfast area.

Annaleah wasn't fond of waking up and when she hear the knock on her door, she let out a groan. "It's too early to be morning," She grumbled, throwing her head over her pillow in resistance. She knew, however, that she didn't have a choice in the matter and would have to get up as quickly as possible. It was one of the many things she absolutely despised about the Arctic Mental Institution. That and the fact they made her feel insane when she most definitely wasn't. She could do things that normal people couldn't. She could shut of lights and turn them off with only a thought. She knew this because she had practiced it in her bedroom a thousand times, though she never dared to try anything else. Before she had come to the institute though, she had electrecuted herself many times with voltages that could have killed a fully grown man instantly, but she had barely even felt a tingle. If anything, it had made her feel stronger, renewed, like she could do anything with all that power flowing through her. At the institute, they told her she was hallucinating. Crazy. Possibly schizophrenic. Delusional.

She frowned, getting out of bed, showering and dressing herself. The outfit she had chosen was simple...Well, simple for her. Her legs were covered in a pair of brightly colored leggings, that depicted blue lightning in a night sky. They were her favorite. For the upper half of her body she wore a simple, short black dress and jean vest. Technically, it wasn't so simple, but at least she wasn't wearing a funky hat or scarf along with it, and she had completely decided against any jewelry. She was also wearing flip flops. She never wore flat shoes. Ever.

When she had made her way down to the breakfast building, she noticed someone sitting alone and looking a little...grumpy. Never one to miss an opportunity to meet new people, she plopped herself down right next to him. "Hey there!" She said with a smile. "I'm Anna."

"Good morning"
Very slowly, and most certainly reluctantly, Jez opened her eyes a little, the light of the cafeteria rushing into her vision and causing them to close instantly. She jerked upwards once more, and rubbed them lightly as if she was still tired- which she was for the record- and looked up at the person who had just confronted her with the friendly greeting. To Jez’s guess, it was, indeed, a guy; the gender which she isn’t compatible with at all. He was a slender yet lean boy, who was practically four inches taller than her; which, from the school she went to, was a rarity. In fact, now that she looked around the cafeteria- which filled up quickly to her disliking- half of the people here where taller than her, minus one or two guys and girls.

He was probably the first person to actually speak to her- or at least from she’s knowledgeable of- and probably was new since she hadn’t seen him around. As much as she wanted to say hi back, even in this situation where a friend would probably be her greatest achievement, Jez couldn’t bring herself to actually say the words to a guy.
Her mouth slowly opened, as if she was going to say something but it closed quickly and before she knew it, her head shot down towards the table. She bit her bottom lip to try to hide the embarrassment of her incompetence to speak to a boy; with the sudden embarrassment and shock, a slight blush stained her cheeks and the anger was only drowned out by the rumbles of her stomach.

Aiden grumbled under his breath when he found out that he wont be getting his well needed snooze for three reasons: One, his bony arms made a lousy pillow. Two, A nurse looked like she was coming over to check on him (she'll probably ask him about the improvement of his sleeping patterns, or lack of improvement more likely). And three, Greg was attempting to "socialize".
He groggily looked up at Greg and was about to tell him that exhausted was an understatement and didn't even measure up to what he was feeling, in hopes that Greg would sympathize with him and therefor leave him alone to miserably attempt to sleep again, when a person took a seat at their table. His body tensed and he straightened up a bit when he realized that she's a girl and she's actually pretty and her name's Anna. Greg introduced himself, and Aiden realized that since she didn't really acknowledge his existence it's a good time as any to get up and go grab some breakfast. He wasn't running away from conversation, he was just going to get breakfast coincidentally when that conversation started... yup that's right.

He stood up and went to the serving line and grabbed a tray, a plate and some plastic utensils (some of the patients are werewolves "allergic" to silver). The food here was absolute cr@p strictly healthy and mostly consisted of fruits, veggies, nuts and what not, and much to his dismay, coffee was deemed "unhealthy" and was not allowed at all to patients, because apparently "it increases your stress hormones and insulin" and "Caffeine addiction makes it really difficult to rely on the body’s natural source of energy" and yadda yadda yadda. He sighed and decided on some cereal, an apple and a glass of orange juice then made his way back to his previous seat where he yawned yet again and hoped that he won't suddenly fall asleep while eating and drown in his cereal.
