Appearance: Mitra is 5'9'', well-built and strong, with mid-length black hair. His skin is the darker brown of his West Indian ancestors. His wardrobe isn't very extensive as he spends most of his time in a butcher's apron.
Personality: His namesake "Mitrajit" is a nod to his friendliness. Since childhood he had no trouble making deep friendships though he kept to himself as he got older. He's very kind and compassionate despite the brutal nature of his work. Though he would never have admitted it to his traditional family, he's only attracted to men, though he knows romance takes a back-burner in their harsh, unforgiving world.
History: Mitra's ancestors were survivors of the apocalypse, and made their living doing something that went against the former tenets of their religion as Hindus -- butchering livestock and providing meat and protein to a newly-formed post-apocalyptic society. Growing up as a third-generation Hindu, Mitra was the youngest of three, but when he was a teenager his father and two brothers were killed by one of the wild beasts during a restocking trip just north of Pine's Checkpoint. This left him responsible for his aging mother, who passed away just before he turned 23. He is now left alone with the family butchering business and makes ends meet as a local merchant.
