a character in “Metro: The Underground”, as played by Oddball

Description

Full Name: Roger Grant
Nickname: Rogg
Gender: Male
Age: 40
Home Region: Burnt Mill
Occupation: Scavenger

Appearance: Roger is a 5'7" man with long, wavy, and pushed to the back brown hair ending at his neck. His eyes are also brown. His beard is short. He wears a long gray wool coat that has been worn for many years. Him and his clothing have been dirtied throughout his exploration of the little bit of land he has scavenged about Burnt Mill.

Personality: Roger is a quiet soul just trying to get by. Don’t let this fool you he won’t be taken as fool. He tries to interact with people as little as possible around Burnt Mill, or anywhere to be exact—not much of a people person. However, this doesn't stop him from selling his findings for the best price. He enjoys heading out to scavenge about the land. Finding remnants of the old world, of which he has only heard stories of, fascinates him.

History: Roger’s history is little to none. Born in the Burnt Mill region, he grew up not knowing his father and his mother was a whore in the eyes of some, but that was the way of life. Live to survive at any means possible—this Roger learned well when he was young. He abandoned his mother as soon as she let one of her so called Clients beat him up. He left to fend for himself as a scavenger of the land.

Woodcrest is Roger’s main hub for trading bits and pieces, though he has traveled to Locust Market to sell his findings at least once or twice. He has explored a good portion of the Burnt Mill region of which he has grown up in. Throughout the years he has come across few, but interesting remnants of the old world. The strangest and most interesting of these findings was a necklace found at an old stone structure that was crumbling apart. Amazed that it was still somewhat standing, he had felt as if he was living in the old world. The necklace was gold with a small heart plate in the middle of it. There was an inscription on the back of it—most likely a phrase for two lovers he assumed. He made off well when he sold it to someone at Locust Market.

There were two rules Roger created in his early years to follow as a scavenger. Rule one, never steal from another scavenger. Rule two, never scavenge at night. These two rules have kept Roger alive for the most part. It’s still a mystery to Roger as to what lies beyond the forest boundaries and the secrets of the tunnel of which he only knows by the name Metro.

Skills: Scavenge, Haggle, and Forestry.
Wants: Learn about the old world and Money.
Fears: Losing what little he has, seeing his mother again, and dying.
