Derak Stone

Tough outside, soft inside, just like us all

Description

Derak is a tall man, of around 6' 4", about 200 lbs (three hundred counting his mutation) , around 23 years of age. His mutation has given his skin thick scale-like plates, these are resistant to most high speed strikes, only large blunt traumas and concussive blasts can cause any real harm. He normally wears a dark brown leather duster, and a "cowboy" hat to match. He wears just a black T-shirt and jeans underneath the duster. He wears heavy black boots. He has gloves which he almost never takes off for his palms and bottom of his feet are the only places with out the scales. His gloves are black leather, and the left one is fingerless. Around his waist he wears a ammo belt with a holster for a revolver, but no revolver to fill it.He has long hair which is normally pulled back in a ponytail. He carries a shotgun slung over his shoulder.

Personality

He tries to act big and bad, always putting on a show like he's invincible, but deep down, he really just misses his son. He is normally a pretty cheerful guy, but has a temper, he cannot stand to see children harmed in anyway. When his temper goes off he is in blind rage, anything between him and whatever he's mad at best move. As soon as he is calm he is right back to happy go lucky Derak.

Equipment

He doesn't have much equipment, he lost his dad's revolver a long time ago, and all he has left as far as weapons go is a shotgun, and a boot knife. He does carry a grappling hook on a rope under his duster on the back of his ammo belt.

History

As a young boy he grew up with his mother and step father, his mother had slept around on his dad with this man, which broke apart their marriage. He mother took him with her. His step father abused him, daily til he was around the age of 15. One day, he saw his step father lay hands on his mother, the boy took up his fathers 44 and killed the man, then gathered his things and his fathers things and left to find his dad. He met and fell in love with a young woman. The couple was about to have a baby when the mother got deathly ill. The mother died as the baby was born. This was around the age of 18. Derak had a gambling problem and he was ambling one night, he had lost all his money, but he had an unbeatable hand, so he bet his fathers revolver. When they showed their hands the man he was gambling with (a kingpin) had cheated and beat his hand, Deark called the man out on this. the man broke both of Derak's hands and threw him into the rain. The man was outraged that Derak would even dare say he cheated. and said Derak needed to learn a lesson. He needed to learn to live with loss, the man took Derak's son, and shot him with the revolver. Derak wandered the country side in dread until the mutations started happening, He was mutated then he decide it wasn't all bad, He had lost his son, but would not lose his humanity, and he joined the justice, and has been fighting with his comrades since.
