Family History:
Genji was an only child born into money, his parents owned a large gem distribution company and were rarely around. He was raised by a nanny and grew resentful of his wealth, as he associated it with his parents neglect. In his adolescence Genji worked double time learning both the basics of being a ninja as well as training under a master smith learning how to run and operate a forge. He eventually reached the rank of Chunin but decided to leave active duty to pursue his work as a blacksmith. After finishing his apprenticeship Genji opened his own smithing shop, and severed all ties with his family. For most of his early adult life he remained alone until meeting Rin. He was Genji's first real friend, and this friendship soon blossomed into a passionate romance. This came as a surprise to the young blacksmith who had always thought he would live in isolation for the rest of his life, toiling away in his forge. Genji desired nothing more than to see Rin reach his full potential as a ninja, personally training him in Taijutsu, and using his old family connections to get Rin the tutoring he needed to master Ninjutsu.

Personality:
Genji has a booming voice and gentle heart. Standing at 6'5" he towers over most people and working his forge for the better part of two decades has left him wrapped in pure muscle. He tends to be a very joyful man who always tries to be positive, especially for Rin. He is hard to enrage but does not sit by while people attack him or his wife.

Position on the Civil War:
Genji feels like this whole ordeal is madness and does not understand how in the midst of all of this darkness and chaos the central governments of the capital cities could just abandon the people in the borderlands so easily. He would like to see these conflicts brought to a close as soon as possible since the blight seems to grow stronger every passing moment.

Rin and Genji's Forge is named "The Chakra Works"
Genji has one of the largest and strongest pools of natural chakra in the ninja world, but has never been able to release it in any form of advanced jutsu.
