Name: Gavin Merrickson
Age: 27
Gender: Male "People never seem to believe me, but I really am."
Ranking: Medic
Sexual Orientation: Asexual, for the most part. "It's not that I don't like people, it's just that I don't have time for liking people, and I don't want to make my patients feel awkward. People tend to not like thinking that their doctor feels romantic feelings toward anyone."
Appearance: People tend to think three things when they first see Gavin: He's a girl, he looks like a little kid, and, upon realising he's male, he's gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide. Only one of these is technically true, and that's that he looks like a little kid, and even that isn't completely true, considering he is almost six feet tall. Well, not quite six feet tall, he actually stands at five feet, ten inches. But, by most people's standards, that's close enough to six feet tall. Gavin's hair is a pale white-blond, so light that people have sometimes thought he was albino. It reaches his lower back in length. When asked why he doesn't cut it shorter, Gavin replies that he'll still look like a little kid, just one with short hair, and he likes it better long. That's mainly because he has a bad habit of chewing on his hair when he is nervous, and, as anyone with short hair would know, short hair is rather difficult to chew on. Gavin's eyes are a pale shade of blue-grey, and he is constantly having to squint when in bright lights because he can't see if he keeps his eyes fully open. He has a fairly round face, which is probably why most people mistake him for a female. Gavin's skin is very pale, which is rather annoying for him, considering it practically burns at even the mention of sunlight.
Personality: Gavin is a fairly quiet male who doesn't speak unless required to. He is excellent at fading into the background when not needed, which has given him the nickname of 'Ghosty' among the crew. Incredibly blunt, Gavin always gets straight to the point. He absolutely hates beating around the bush, preferring for conversations to be as quick and as concise as possible. Gavin also hates incorrect details. He is always as precise as possible, and will not accept rounded answers unless it is completely impossible to get an exact answer. This is both a curse and a blessing; a curse because he annoys everyone aboard the ship, and a blessing because it means there's a low chance of them getting into trouble for miscalculating things.
History: Gavin was raised in the house of a rather well known senator. His family was quite rich, and his life was always well off. He always got what he wanted, and that made him rather arrogant in his childhood. Soon, his grades in school began falling because he thought he could just bribe the teachers with money. That idea failed after his father realised what Gavin was doing and commanded the teachers to not accept any bribes. Having to retake eighth grade was a cruel awakening to Gavin, and after that he always made sure to do his best in school. He was a straight A student throughout high school because of that.
After he graduated high school a few months before his 20th birthday, Gavin enrolled in medical school. He graduated when he was twenty five, and began working in a small medical office for regular citizens. Seeing that this life was far too boring for him, he soon resigned from that office and instead attempted to find a position in the military. At first, he was given a bit of difficulty in signing up purely because he looked so childlike, but, after giving proof that he was above the required minimum age, he was finally allowed to join. Gavin took up the position of a medic in the military when he was 26, and just recently, he was transferred to F.S.S. Salient.
