Appearance
Augustus is a strong looking young man. Standing at six feet and three inches and weighing at 210 pounds, August towers over a majority of the people that he meets. He possess bright blue-green eyes with little flecks of grey and hazel hidden in their depths. They turn dark and stormy when he is either angry or sorrowful. His body is well built, carrying his slender frame, broad shoulders, muscled arms. He has thick dark brown hair that is naturally unruly and messy, but styled effortlessly. He was graced with clear fair skin along with a whisper of freckles that make his hard chiseled features look a tad softer. He has a very masculine beauty that he isn't afraid to flaunt. His voice is deep and filled with a confidence that most women find utterly attractive, but lately it has been filled with a desperate edge that he can't help but display. When feeling any type of emotion, August is unable to hide it. Either the look in his eyes, the twitch of his lip, or his posture gives away what he is feeling. He is an open book when it comes to his body and emotions.

Secrets
~Augustus is a pianist. He doesn't really flaunt this talent since he is mainly known for his outstanding sporting abilities.

~He has a pain fetish. He likes bruising and being bruised up. Scars and scratches are his turn on and he likes when his hair is being yanked on, he hides this because he doesn't want to scare women away and when engaged in intimacy, he refrains from hurting his partner, but it takes a lot of effort.

~August was seduced by his step-mother while he was dating Minnie. He regrets it, and chooses not to speak of it. Constantly, his step-mother tries to get in his pants, threatening to tell his father that he's been forcing himself on her when it's the complete opposite. His father is suspicious of his wife's affair, but has no idea that it is his son that has been making her scream. Although, August wants it to end...it's her word against his.

Personality
There are many words that could describe Augustus: confident, sarcastic, and on occasion, extremely romantic. He is a very passionate person, and once he has his heart set on something, he will be focused on that until something else catches his attention. He may seem materialistic and stuck up at first, but as you peel his layers, he is actually laid back and really funny. He has very dry humor that is smothered in sarcasm, but it's strangely endearing. Augustus might not look the part, but the man is brilliant. He was given the best education that money could buy and he uses his brain to his advantage. With an observant eye, he is practically Sherlock freaking Holmes. He just pays attention to details, using them to get what he wants and persuade people into doing what he pleases. August has a low tolerance for stupidity and will refrain from associating with those that are below his standards; this causes people to think that he is full of himself, but the truth is that he simply doesn't have time for ignorance. He loves to read and has a love for cultural backgrounds, finding them intriguing. Money isn't an object when it comes down to expanding his knowledge, however, he has a bit of a tendency to be careless with his money and has an inability to resist the urge to be impulsive. He could be a bit reckless too when under the influence, throwing caution and fear to the wind.

History
Augustus was born into the life of luxury; being taught by the best teachers, eating the best cuisine, and even being blessed with the latest fashion. He was living the life that most would kill for. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. Popularity came easily, and so did love. He was utterly lost in Minnie, loving her like the men in those romantic novels. She was all that he cared about, but after the first night that his step-mother touched him, Augustus almost felt unworthy of Minnie. To ease his silent suffering, Augustus found himself indulging in the poison of alcohol, which caused him to make some bad decisions. He cheated with a string of women, without remembering how he even ended up in bed with them. He went on a downwards spiral; drinking, sleeping around, and lying. It didn't take long for word to get around and reach Minnie. She left him and he was just broken.

He truly loved her, but as time went on his love for her grew fainter and fainter...that's what scared him. He didn't want to let her go, so when he found out that she was in Paris, his impulsiveness kicked in. He got on the first plane to France and is now on a wild goose chase for the woman that he believes can save him from himself.

And I'd give up forever to touch you
'Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now

And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
And sooner or later it's over
I just don't wanna miss you tonight

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's meant to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am
I just want you to know who I am

Minette raked her slender fingers through his long brown curls as a small sigh drifted from her lips. She was completely exhausted, but it was all worth it. She was in the city of love, so she couldn't complain. Her eyes scanned the airport, watching the plethora of people scurry to their destinations and kiss their loved ones. A faint smile found its way onto her face before she allowed her eyes to drift to her little sister, Ara. There was a tense silence between the two, to Minnie's dismay. She wasn't very pleased with the fact that she and Ara couldn't have that sisterly bond that she always yearned for, however, Minette still had hope, and who knew maybe this vacation could allow them to bond.

Anxiously, Minnie fiddled with the sleeve of her gray shirt. She glanced at her purse, thinking about the orange container that was filled to the brim with pills that would keep her as sane as humanly possible. She hated her anxiety and felt as though it hindered her appearance to most people. In her mind, appearances were key, and she refused to be looked down upon for something that she had no control over, so that is why she tried in vain to hide her weakness. To take her mind off of her flaw, she fished out her iPhone and checked the E-mails between her and her pen pal, Damien Ackerman. She was pleased that she would finally be meeting her confidant in the flesh for the first time, it was all so exciting. She tapped on the screen, sending him an update on their travels.

Hey Damien,

Finally made it to Paris! I can honestly say that I'm too excited for words. Can't wait to see you in person.

Hitting send, Minette lifted her head, spotting her best friends, Lily and Chris reaching the exit. A large smile replaced the melancholy frown on her face. "Hey!" She beamed, dropping her suitcases to practically tackle Lily. Her small arms wrapped around her friend's slim waist and her lips placed a small peck on both of Lily's cheeks, noting the scent of champagne on her breath before she gave Chris the same treatment, but was careful not to seem too affectionate. Their multiple encounters were not lost on her, and she prayed that no bad blood would brew between them. She still felt guilty...

"I'm so glad to see you guys again." Her gaze landed on her sister, not wanting her to feel too left out. "You remember my sister, Elsa, right?"

Augustus' thoughts were like stars that were unable to form constellations. He was lost in a mixture of bliss and self loathing; the place between reality and his own imagination. It was at this particular moment that he fell his lowest; looking up at the unfamiliar ceiling of the motel, feeling the soft cotton of the hideous bedspread that he was currently resting on, and being eyed like a piece of meat by the brown eyes of the woman that he had sold his soul to. She lit a cigarette and placed it between her lips, blowing the deadly smoke into the atmosphere where it would mingle with the oxygen and carbon dioxide and slowly poison him.

That was all she was to him...poisonous. She was the cyanide to his happiness, and she managed to let it be known that she wasn't willing to stop her games. The feeling in Augustus' chest was one that he'd grown accustom to. It was a feeling of everlasting regret, rueful...almost mournful. He mourned the days when he was actually happy with himself. He indulged in the nostalgia while ignoring the sound of her still labored breathing, his multicolored eyes glued to the dull beige ceiling.

Will the guilt ever end? Not only had he betrayed the only woman in his life that he's ever loved, but he was betraying his own flesh and blood. His father was a stern man, but expressed his love through his teachings and effort. There were times when he did seem like a rather bitter man, but he was a man that was widowed and still in love with the first woman that he's ever said 'I do' to. It wasn't until he met Eve that he actually seemed to become much more lively. Now, Augustus was in bed with her, watching the swirls of smoke slowly flow out of her mouth as if they were his values and morals being blown into oblivion.

"You're staring again," Eve smirked, pushing the covers over her naked chest.

"I'm observing," he stated. "I'm also contemplating why you find amusement in my downfall."

"Must you be so dramatic? It's just sex, Gussy."

"And I'm just your husband's son and you're just my step-mother, and my name is just not Gussy," he sighed. Huffing, the older woman pushed herself up, grabbing her undergarments and clothing off of the recently vacuumed carpet.

"You sure know how to mess up a good afterglow, August," Eve muttered. "I swear, if you weren't so good, I'd say you were just like your father."

"You probably forgot what he feels like because you're too busy screwing me. I want out. This is so wrong on so many levels, Eve and you know it," Augustus was now pulling on his pants while fixing his messy hair. His body felt stiff as he pulled on his T-shirt.

"I bet you also want me to tell him that you bought me here, took advantage of me and forced me, am I right?" With her blouse unbuttoned and her hair in disarray, Eve grinned devilishly at him. "You see, Gussy, a woman like me has needs. I love your father, but he has a role to play in my life. His role is security and yours is to provide. You play your role and no one gets hurt."

"You are an obnoxiously horrendous burden on society. It is people like you that prey on those that are too righteous to witness the evil before them that causes people like me to gag in utter disgust. To say that you sicken me is an understatement, and I believe, wholeheartedly that when God created you, he forgot to add a warning label and a conscious," Augustus glared at her with pure distaste. "To dumb this down for you...you're a bitch."

Eve giggled as if he'd just said the most amusing joke in existence. "Oh, Gussy," she grinned maliciously. "I love it when you talk dirty to me."

Augustus combed through the crowd of heated bodies. After landing in Paris and checking into a hotel, he spotted a flyer that was advertising the hottest club in Paris, and knowing his beloved Minnie, she wouldn't skip out on a night of partying. So here he was with a bottled water in one hand and using the other to push his way through the plethora of sweaty drunks. He had no idea how he was going to find Minnie in all of his chaos, but in the state of impulse he had nothing to lose. He pulled out his cell phone, ready to send Minnie yet another text message. He stopped, however, noticing that Eve had text him while he was on his flight. Reluctantly, he opened the message:

To: Augustus
From: Hag from Hell

Your dad is on a golfing expo, so we have the house to ourselves. I have the hot tub running, come and keep me company ;)

Rolling his eyes, August sighed when he saw she sent him another one an hour later than the previous message.

To: Augustus
From: Hag from Hell

Don't fucking ignore me, Gussy. You know what will happen if I not pleased. Only you can keep my mouth shut. Text me back or you'll have to explain to daddy why you've decided to rape your step mommy. >:3 -kisses-

There was a lump that was now forming in August's throat. He hadn't told a soul of his little venture, and now he was risking his skin for Minette's affection. "She better appreciate this shit," he muttered bitterly. Typing on his phone, he sent Eve a short reply:

To: Hag from Hell
From: Augustus

Sorry, can't commit adultery at the moment. Currently in a foreign country in attempts to be regain the happiness that you've stolen from me...rain check? (In case your tiny brain couldn't fathom the last part, that was sarcasm.)

Sending that, he text Minette for the eighteenth time:

To: Minnie Mouse
From: Augustus

I'm going to fight for you. Minette, you have to know that I still love you and I'm willing to do anything in my power to assure that you realize this. The other girls meant nothing...just please...at least call me. I miss hearing your voice, and that cute giggle of yours. I love you.

He hit send as waves of sorrow cascaded down his body in cold waves. He took a swing of water, wishing that it was alcohol, but dismissing the thought because he quit the stuff for Minnie. He continued moving through the crowd when suddenly a blond man slammed into him, causing his water to jolt and splash the dark haired girl in front of him (Dani). She was drenched. "Oh shit," he said in shock. "I am so sorry."

Dani had just looked up from checking her phone when suddenly something wet, and cold, splashed over her from behind. "Oh shit, I am so sorry," came from the crowd somewhere close by. The voice was male, and clearly American. She stood, shocked, for a moment, before rounding on the clumsy tourist. "Diable? Vos yeux américains ne peuvent-ils pas voir un pied autour de vous? Dans l'intéret de Dieu! Ma chemise est imbibée! Merci, âne, j'ai juste obtenu outre du travail!" (What the hell? Can your American eyes not see one foot around you? For God's sake! My shirt is soaked! Thanks, jackass, I just got off work!) Enraged, she threw her hand into the air to stop whatever babble was about to come forth from his gaping jaw. With a frustrated growl she shoved her way back out of the crowd. She made her way to the edge of the room, cussing heatedly in French all the while.

As she made it to the bar, she sat her beer on the counter and whistled for Marco, her Brazilian coworker. "Can you toss me a rag, Marco? Some idiot splashed his drink all over me..." Her French was of course flawless and rapid. The Brazilian nodded and tossed her a bar rag. Grumbling to herself still, she set about trying to wipe off her soaked side and attempted to absorb some of the liquid from her shirt into the rag. "Juste essayant d'apprécier une nuit outre du travail. Est-ce que peut-elle une fille font même cela? Non! Naturellement pas." (Just trying to enjoy a night off work. Can a girl even do that? No! Of course not.) In her rage, she hadn't even gotten a good look at the male that had spilled his drink all over her. What a night. More importantly, where the hell was Shay? Feeling herself grow more frustrated, she tossed the rag back onto the bar and took a seat there. After polishing off her bottle, she tipped the empty glass toward Marco, signaling for another. If tonight was going to be this kind of a night; she might as well not remember it tomorrow.

At this point there were two things that Augustus was thinking about: 1. How sorry he was that he spilled perfectly good purified O Muse all over the french woman. Then, 2. how he strangely found her foreign ranting extremely attractive. He said nothing as she chewed him out, just staring at her with a raised brow. When she was done he watched her storm off.

"Uh," he said awkwardly, eyes on her retreating figure. "Sorry?"

He couldn't just let her walk off like that, he had to formally apologize and buy her a drink at least. So, Augustus followed the enraged french girl to the bar. He placed the half emptied bottle of water onto the cleaned counter. Now that they were not under the strobe lighting, August could clearly see her feminine features. Great, she's cute too. Just my luck....couldn't have spilled on an ugly girl. he mentally rolled his eyes. He quirked his lip a bit, listening to her grumbling in french. Still, he found it really adorable. He loved Minnie, but this french girl was without a doubt attractive, no man could deny that. Towering over her, August tilted his head slightly, resembling a confused puppy. Her words were lost on him, but he decided to ease his guilt by speaking first.

"My apologies," he said, leaning against the counter with his back. "I'll buy you a drink if that will help." His eyes scanned her body, studying her body language and looking for any hint that he had a chance of calming her down. So far, odds were not in his favor...

Dani glanced up at the bar as her second beer arrived and sighed, taking a long drag from it. Just then, her cell vibrated to life in her pocket.

From: Shay
Message: Almost there darling! Thanks in advance for giving me a free pass, hugs! <3

Thank goodness, she thought to herself, quickly sending a reply back.

To: Shay
Message: No problem at all, love! See you soon! XoXo!

"My apologies." She hadn't even finished sending her text when the familiar American accent cut into her thoughts. "I'll buy you a drink if that will help." Danielle finished typing out her text and then turned to regard the foreigner. "Comme vous pouvez voir, j'ai déjà un," she replied shortly. Suddenly remembering that he probably didn't speak a word of French, she picked up her beer and tilted it toward him, to show that she obviously already had one. She sat her drink back onto the bar, after taking a swig from it of course, and attempted to burn his reflection in the bottle with her eyes. Americans. With their 'football' and burgers... Think they own everything. When she noticed that he had made himself comfortable against the bar, she turned to him in her seat. She was just about to open her mouth to say something when Lucas came flying over. He was obviously plastered out of his mind, and looking very red faced and angry. Who the hell is this? Dani tipped her head to the side. Who is... oh... She glanced to the American beside her, realizing now for the first time that he wasn't all that bad looking. A smile instantly painted itself onto her face. Who could resist the chance of making an ex jealous?

"My date," she replied calmly, gesturing towards Augustus. Poor American... here we sit, jabbing back and forth in French... he has no idea what's going on... Ah well. "Your date? As if his voice couldn't drop any deeper, it did. A laugh was threatening to bubbly into her throat. "Yes. He's American." As if thrown over the edge, Lucas pounced towards Augustus, but due to his drunken state, he only managed to hit his head on the bar, and fall over. Danielle couldn't help but laugh, after all... it was pretty funny. She scooped down and helped him up, clicking her tongue at him. "Go home, Lucas. You're drunk," she told the very confused looking Spaniard. He looked as though he wanted to argue. He opened his mouth, and just as he did, the room started to spin. He mumbled something to her in Spanish, she smiled and replied back to him, "Lay down and go home," in his native tongue. He stumbled away, cussing under his breath about Americans.

Dani turned her attention back to her 'date', and laughed a little at the look on his face. "My name is Danielle. Call me Dani," she called to him over the music, in English so this time he could understand her. Her accent was incredibly thick, and English felt strange on her tongue. It was an ugly language. No fluid and beautiful like French or Spanish. Still, this poor tourist was way out of his comfort zone, so she could pity him that. "You'll buy the next one, yes," she asked, nodding towards her beer. "You have a name, American?"

Never in his entire life had August been so confused. He was usually the one that confused people, now he knew how it felt. It wasn't a grand feeling. Frowning, Augustus watched as a drunken Hispanic made a fool of himself. He had no clue what he was saying, but had a feeling that he was insulting him. A small smile made its way onto his face as he observed silently. Taking in the body language and tone of voice, he concluded that the young man thought that he was with the french woman, and she wasn't debunking his claim. Shaking his head, August decided not to interfere and just let him think what he wanted. He owed the girl that much. It wasn't until the other man lunged at him did he tune back into the conversation. He didn't bother to fight back because the guy was too wasted to be considered a threat, so August simply side stepped him, causing the drunkard to miss and slam his head against the bar. It took a bit of effort to not laugh, for he knew what it was like to want someone enough to make a fool out of yourself for them. He was currently doing it, actually.

Augustus glanced at the girl, seeing the amusement on her face as she talked the drunk idiot down and he grumbled, walking away. Raising a brow, August looked down at her with a mixture of confusion and faint humor. Her french accent was thicker than blood as she spoke her name, and it was still quite alluring to August. He smiled apologetically, nodding. "Augustus," he replied, twisting this half empty bottle of water in his hands. "Most just call me August. So, care to explain why senor bilingual was attempting to tackle me? I have my own theory, but I think it's best to know the facts instead of making assumptions."
