Kellin is an attractive young man, standing at an approximate height of 5'10" with a heavily athletic build, broad shoulders and a strong jaw. He has a warm, olive complexion (much like most members of his family), dark hair in a short/scruffy style, and a pair of equally dark eyes.

Some time before the war, Kellin joined the Remei and was scarred with a sigil on the upper half of his right arm, one that would force him to keep the Remei's secrets and remain loyal to their cause. The sigil was removed by force when he asked his father to remove the arm, as opposed to just the sigil, to prove his loyalty to the fae rebellion - despite still being secretly aligned with the Remei. The arm grew back, of course, but it is comprised entirely of shadows as opposed to flesh and bone.

Kellin is, for all intents and purpose, a sycophant. He is completely devoted to his Queen, though admitting as much would be a push for him. Still just as stubborn and standoffish as he's always been, Kellin displays high levels of obedience towards Victoria whilst still maintaining his feisty and sarcastic tendencies. He follows orders to the word, even if it means betraying everything his father and grandmother had taught him during his childhood. Being a good person was never part of Kellin's fate, no matter how much he tried to do the right thing. This was the main reason he so willingly joined the Remei under his grandfather's command. He can be described as morally ambiguous, and cares little for other people's emotions or wellbeing. Although, being highly deceitful by nature and command, he must put up a certain front - one which will appease (and fool) his father. It is his most important task, and if people see through his façade, he will have failed his Queen. That is something he cannot allow himself to do; she is his entire reason for living, or so he would trick himself into believing.

When surrounded by members of the rebellion, Kellin is not nearly such a bad person. While he's still hot-headed and rather blunt with his words, he adopts new traits which help him to lull others into a false sense of trust and security. Charming, witty and sociable, Kellin - coupled with his natural fae allure - is an attractive individual, and tends to make more friends than enemies. He would have others believing that he actually cared about them, and would listen to their problems or get them out of difficult situations, that he has any real feelings for them at all. Modelling himself in the image of his father, he aims to inspire and lead others by earning their respect instead of demanding it. In reality, he could not care less about the rebels or their cause; he tries to sabotage them in small ways, in addition to feeding information back to Victoria, but he's smart enough not to get himself caught.

Kellin had always been - for the most part - alone. He grew up without his mother, whom had been killed by Victoria Montez, and was an only child. He lived with his father for the larger majority of his life but he was rarely at home. When possible, he was out drowning his sorrows in alcohol and sex. He had no real friendships to speak of, despite regularly hanging around with his many cousins and their friends. He wasn't exactly likeable, to say the absolute least. His father was a shell of a man, and a poor father. Any lesson that stuck in his mind was taught to him by his grandmother, but even his respect for her was not enough to stop him from becoming a complete and utter dickhead.

Following the training he received from his grandfather, Alexander Davenport, Kellin joined the Remei as soon as he could, with little thought to the consequences of his actions. He wanted nothing more than to do something with his life, whether that something was good or bad. And since Alex was the only person that took him seriously, he found no issue in turning himself into the bad guy. It wasn't until after the war, however, that he aligned himself more with Victoria than Alex. She took to seducing him for her own personal gain.

So begins...

As Sarani took her leave, Simon spared one last smile and murmured a quiet 'thank you', before shifting his gaze elsewhere.

The past few months had been so busy that, with a bit more free time on his hands, Simon didn't quite know where to place himself. If he wasn't working, he was training, and if he wasn't training, he was plotting. He always managed to find a way to keep his mind and/or body occupied, but today was... different. For at least another hour or so, Simon had nowhere to be, and no one to see.

There was nothing he hated more than being left alone with his own thoughts, and the crushing loneliness that came from lacking the company of another. It was in moments like this that he felt a weight bearing down on his chest, like a dull ache, and his breaths became more and more shallow, until a familiar voice broke his line of thought and dragged him back to reality. He felt a hand upon his shoulder, and turned to see that Kellin was standing beside him. He gave his son a tight smile, which did not reach his eyes.

Things had been difficult between them lately. Kellin may have pledged his loyalty to the fae rebellion, but many lives had been taken at the hands of his son, and such things were hard to ignore. "You don't have to look so happy to see me, Dad," Kellin muttered, and was not surprised when his father completely avoided the comments.

"I assume you're here to report your findings," Simon replied, clasping his hands together behind his back. "Is it as we thought?" he asked, and after a brief hesitation on Kellin's part, Simon continued. "Go. Prepare the men for an attack." Kellin nodded, but before he could make a single move to carry out his father's wishes, both men diverted their attentions to the sound of raised voices and hurried movements coming from the edge of the forest. Panic and alarm quickly spread through the camp as a small group of fae women appeared at the edge of the forest.

Simon began walking towards the group, followed by a few members of the rebellion, his eyes scanning each individual fae. By their shackles and collars, Simon could only assume that they were slaves. Former slaves. But there were still many questions at the forefront of his mind. How did they escape? How did they know where to find him? Were they part of a trap?

Approaching cautiously, Simon's eyes were immediately drawn to the nearest girl. She was small and looked rather timid, but there was hope in her eyes and a smile upon her lips. "You're... the leader?" she asked. Simon didn't quite know how to answer that. A few days ago, he would've agreed, but he was no longer the rebellion's leader. "You could say that," he replied, quickly bypassing the question by shifting his gaze to the rest of the group. Most of them were either injured or exhausted, and the ones that weren't were supporting the less able. With a quick gesture, Simon had some of his soldiers assist the others, while Simon instead kept his attention on the silver-haired girl at the front.

"Where did you come from?" he asked, causing the girl to glance over her shoulder. He looked up at the forest for a moment. "The army encampment... We were given to the soldiers to keep them company," she answered, and Simon's skin crawled at the thought. "We heard them talking and laughing about how they were going to march on this camp.. But, last night, they were attacked." Without words, Simon prompted her to continue, and she seemed to understand what he would've asked. "The dragon boy..." she whispered, and his heart jumped into his throat. The dragons were near enough extinct in this world, only a few remained, and one of them was his cousin. We have allies, he thought.

"This dragon... did he give you his name?" Simon asked, to which the girl responded by shaking her head. "But he took the camp? The village?" he continued, stepping closer. He seemed oblivious to how uncomfortable the girl was becoming. "We fled during the attack... I... I don't know, sir," she murmured, and the older male released a soft exhale of breath. "Thank you for the information. The people here will take care of you now." Stepping forward, he placed a hand atop her head, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Welcome to the rebellion."

After placing the young girl in the care of a more mature female, Simon lifted his hand and - pressing his fingers to his mouth - released a loud whistle, hoping to catch the attention of the warriors around him. Once enough of them were gathered, Simon explained the situation to them: the village and army encampment had been attacked and possibly claimed in the name of the rebellion, and they were to travel to investigate. "Fifteen men in total, including myself," Simon stated. "Nine warriors, led by Aedion, will continue on to the village while the rest, led by me, will search through the army encampment. If the area is safe, my group shall return to collect the members of the rebellion while Aedion's group secures the village and checks its resources." Simon took a moment to let the information sink in. "Is anyone opposed to this plan? If so, speak up now. If not, gather your equipment and men, because we're leaving in ten minutes."

"He's this way, just up ahead," Sive informed Simon, before trotting on ahead to show them the way. He couldn't help but smile at her for it, but quickly diverted his attention to the human girl, Sashi, was standing much closer to him. He didn't mind much; she probably didn't feel as safe around the soldiers, and Simon had already vowed to protect her so it only made sense for her to hover around him a little more. While he looked down at her, however, she seemed a little more concerned with her sister's wellbeing, and as Simon's eyes found the red-haired girl, he took note of a small amount of blood on her back. He sucked his teeth quietly, and thought for a moment about insisting that she should receive medical attention, but figured he would wait until after the village was secured. The girl seemed intent on marching forward, anyhow. "It won't be long now, about a few hours walk, and you'll smell the smoke," Sive continued, and Simon nodded with a smile, despite having mixed feelings about having to walk for another few hours.

As the group walked on, Simon could occasionally feel eyes on him, and every now and then, his gentle gaze would make contact with Sashi. Almost without noticing, he slowed his pace down ever so slightly - only for a moment - in order to walk directly by her side, though the three still remained at the forefront of the group.

Just as Sive had promised, the faint smell of smoke became apparent to Simon, causing his nose to crinkle slightly. He stopped suddenly, holding up a hand, before turning to the rest of the soldiers. "Aedion, take your assigned soldiers and scout for the village, it should be close by," he ordered, before gesturing to his own four soldiers and Andrew, and continuing on. While he would understand if Sive still attempted to show him the way, Simon didn't need a whole lot of direction by that point; the smoke and heat were leading him towards the camp well enough on their own.

A short while later, they found the remains of what should have been the army encampment, but instead found only ruin. And in the centre of it all lay a large, black dragon. Out of surprise, Simon hesitated only for a moment, before he started forward, taking note of the spears that had been caught between his scales. He had no fear in approaching the dragon, despite his species he was still a weaker being, and would be far too injured to attack even if the intent was there. While his men surrounding the dragon and mimicked their prince, Simon assisted in the effort by wrapping both hands around one of the spears, grunting with the effort it took to remove it. Once the last spear was removed, all of the soldiers stood back, allowing the dragon some room.

"Are you well enough to shift, boy?" Simon asked, having moved around to face the dragon directly, hoping by this point that Andrew will have taken a place by his side. "Or at least talk? I'd like to know your name."

The large beast rose it's massive head as a group of men approached. It immediately recognized the fae at the head of the group and set his head down, in a bit of a huff. He didn't know him, it seemed, the beast thought it funny. Oddly, he noticed two little creatures, one was fae, without a doubt, but the other little one, she was human. She could barely take her eyes off of him, and when she did they went back to the young Prince.
Image
The beast looked at her for a moment before turning his gaze, he then noticed the Dragon Prince, The creature didn't move as his soldiers surrounded him. The Fae at the head, seized the spears between his scales and pulled. The beast growled startling the poor girl, he didn't mean to but that hurt. Soon enough the men all freed the spears, and the beast fought hard not to growl a second time.
They all then gave the beast wide berth, except the Fae Prince.

"Are you well enough to shift, boy?" The Fae Prince asked and it was then that the beast took notice of another dragon at his side "Or at least talk? I'd like to know your name." He asked and the beast rose, he towered over the group, he shook his giant head, before finally in a plume of swirling smoke, it disappeared and it's place, stood a young man, sharp eyes, olive skin and long dark hair, still dressed in his armor and at his side his weapons. He looked up at the Fae Prince.

"It is I, Mycah Youngfire, of the Youngfire Clan, First of my name and Ward of the Great Dryad Dragon Thomas of the Vincent Clan, " He said, with much less enthusiasm then he had once a lifetime ago. "You're Uncle." He told Simon. He looked to the Dragon Prince, and freed his Kukri, and presented it to him. "Forgive my failure, Prince Andrew, I should have been there with your father that day, I will avenge him, this I vow upon my blade." He said, and with his head lowered, he rose his blade in both hands. "I pledge you my blade, my life, until your enemies fall, Dragon King." He told him, and he felt something, and turned sharply.

"Forgive the breech in protocol, You're Grace, but we've company." He said and rose from his kneeling position and turned toward the village. He gripped the hilt of his blade, and it was at the moment the small red haired girl did the same. "Demons." She said and the Mycah looked at her with a curious gaze. "Aye, Can you fight, Little one."

"Watch me!" She said and the speed with which the pixie ran was hard to follow. He didn't know where the blades came from but she flung them with expert precision, each hitting their respective targets.

"Sashi, Hide!" She called back, and Mycah turned to the human girl, who looked from him, and then to Simon as if she were waiting for him to speak. Mycah himself, prepared to shift but would what for orders, unlike the Pixie, who wasted no time.

Sarani smiled at Aphylla warmly, proud of the fae standing before her. "Of course, bring back as many herbs as you can, and if you come across anyone injured, keep them calm and stable until they get back to camp," she rolled her eyes at herself, "I don't know why I'm telling you all this, you know what to do," she chuckled. "Be safe, and make sure my brother doesn't kill himself..."
Image

He smiled wryly at the little blonde fae, "good, I hate it when you fight," he said, grasping one of her hair strands and twirling it around his fingers. In truth, he wasn't very happy that his sister had given her permission to come in Sarani's stead. Aphylla was a plant fae, not a warrior fae, and Aedion couldn't imagine losing anyone else he cared about. "Don't do anything reckless, and don't attack unless someone attacks you first. I don't want to have to worry about you jumping into the fray if it comes to that," he said seriously.

Simon came out and assigned his troupe to the village, and Aedion nodded, taking in the five men plus Aphylla and Kellin. It would be a risky mission, especially because they didn't know what state the village would be when they got there and if there would be other fae there. He was worried, but at the same time, he was excited. He loved the thrill of a fight, it was in his blood. He felt water stirring around him as his heart rate increased, and he did his best to calm it down. He couldn't deplete any of his magical energy before they began the mission.

On the road, his troupe followed Simon's diligently until he gave the signal to split up. Together, they ran into a pixie and a human, seemingly injured. Aedion looked for Aphylla to help, but Simon took over quickly and actually managed to heal the girl laying in front of him. They began to head for the supposed dragon boy, and it wasn't long before Simon gave the command to split up. The seven-far troupe went to the left, heading towards the village. He gave the command for silence and lightly treaded on the earth, peering through the trees to the village up ahead. "I'll go left, you take three men and go right. Clear the houses, if anyone's injured bring them out here to Aphylla. We'll meet in the middle," he whispered to Kellin. He took the remaining two mean, and headed left, curling a water tendril around his fist in case there were any surprises.

It was clear this village had seen better days. The walls on the houses were nearly caved in, the roofs had patches and there were vines crawling up the sides. Aedion entered the first house apprehensively, motioning for his soldiers to take different directions and clear it for any victims. He walked on several plants that littered the floor, and tried not to crush any herbs under his feet. He heard his soldiers call out various observations. Not seeing anything of value, they moved on to the next house.

Aedion was moving towards the center when he sensed someone approaching quickly. Not being able to see who it was, he called Kellin to his side. He would not be able to live with himself if anything happened to the prince's son. Aphylla approached, and Aedion relaxed slightly, but he could tell that something was wrong. "Demons? You're sure?" Aedion peered through the trees, sensing something but being unable to sense the threat level. He motioned the men to follow him as he headed towards the demons. "Stay behind me, Aphylla, I don't want to risk it. The soldiers will protect you," he said, even though he didn't trust anyone else but himself to protect her.

The demons were entrapped in a cage-like array of branches that appeared to be the work of his little blonde friend. They were dangerous and frothing at the mouths, but they couldn't get through the magically enhanced branches. "This won't hold them for long, we'll need to do something," he said quietly, before suddenly he had an idea. Turning to Kellin, he shrugged to one side. "Alright, if you're looking to be a leader, what's your opinion on the situation? What would you do if you were me?"

"Well, most know my story..." Erieda began, causing Kaenne to tilt his head to one side, frowning ever so slightly. He, much like the other Seelie fae, was all too familiar with the tales of her dark-minded husband and their multi-raced (not to mention somewhat dysfunctional) family within the mortal realm. However, he liked to think that there was more to his Queen than what he'd heard in stories and troubling rumours.

As she hesitated, Kaenne almost thought that he should stop her, mainly out of fear that she did not want him prying into her personal life. It was not his right to know such things about her, and he should have considered that before he asked; he had foolishly allowed his confidence to push him over a boundary. Merely a second away from telling her not to worry, that it was wrong of him to ask her, but she began again. "I was fortunate to have a family, well... the children anyway, it's the only thing I would never change. I wish they weren't connected to the man they are, they deserve better, and it was my folly for loving that man, but I wouldn't change it for the world, the only good thing to come from him was my children..." As she spoke, Kaenne listened intently, though hearing of her husband wasn't something he enjoyed, not because of his jealousy but instead because - in his limited understanding of their relationship - he was aware that her husband was abusive, and didn't deserve her.

She spoke more, about her daughter whom he assumed she had lost in the war. Erieda kept her children away from war, which consumed his entire life, so Kaenne never had the pleasure of meeting the child, though the way Erieda spoke so passionately of her made him wish he had, at least once. He knew little of his own children, since he could barely spend time with them, but he loved them nonetheless. It pained him when they were killed, perhaps more so than the loss of his wife. "No parent should outlive their child..." she added, and Kaenne looked up suddenly, catching the sadness in her eyes despite her smile. That statement struck a chord in him, while he knew it pained her to talk of her family, of her lost children, he was grateful at least that she had chosen to confide in him.

Reaching forward, his gaze never leaving her face, Kaenne placed a hand gently over hers; not for the desire to touch her, but simply as an act of consolation and perhaps, on some level, affection. Making people feel better was never something he had learned to do, but for Erieda he thought he should at least make the attempt. He hesitated for a few moments, before seemingly being able to find his voice. "I am sorry for your loss, Erieda, truly," he began. "Her death was as needless as it was tragic, I know this, and those foul creatures... Victoria, Alex, Alec... They will suffer for it." There was a pause. "And if you allowed it, I would help you cut each of them down. You have my sword, my word... Everything I have is yours, you know this."

ImageImageImage

As his father ordered the group to leave the encampment, Kellin gave Aedion a quick glance, an impressed expression settling on his features, but followed the older Fae without much objection. Kellin himself was partly fae, but his Wraith and Vampire sides both outweighed the dryad blood within him, and as of late he had found himself sharing Victoria's views on the race as a whole. It was only by her order that he was attempting to blend in with the rebellion, but more than anything, he wanted to put an end to all of them before they could grow in number and subsequently strength. Obviously he couldn't fight them all, at least not by himself, but if given the time and resources, he could figure out a way to take them out before they became an issue.

Victoria would not be happy that the village was being claimed by the rebellion, he reflected. He wondered briefly if she knew, or if no one had lived to tell her about the dragon attack on the encampment. If anyone managed to escape, he hoped that at least one of them had sense enough to return to the castle instead of sticking around. He supposed he would have to wait and see. They wouldn't reach the village for some time, but he didn't wish to fight the demons he still saw as his comrades. There had been some understanding that he would do what he had to do keep his place in the rebellion, but fighting his allies... that would be difficult for him.

Kellin paid no mind to the things happening around him as they marched onwards. The idle chatter of fae soldiers and later an encounter with the fae and human girls, meant nothing to him. He seemed disinterested in all of it, up to the point where his father ordered Aedion and the group to proceed to the village. It took him a moment to remember that he was to be travelling with the Nixie. Releasing a sigh, he followed along with the group as they moved quietly through the woods. "I'll go left, you take three men and go right. Clear the houses, if anyone's injured bring them out here to Aphylla. We'll meet in the middle," Aedion suddenly said, and Kellin took a moment to realise that the order was being directed at him. Grunting in response, he moved to carry out his orders, merely expecting three soldiers to take initiative and follow after him.

Checking through the houses in the village was a mundane task. There seemed to be nothing more than furniture and useless trinkets. No weapons, no valuable resources, not even any remaining fae. Kellin smiled to himself when he was out of the way of the soldiers, more and more with each house they checked. It was looking to be a total waste of time, and had cost the rebellion some time and effort.

It was as he absentmindedly lifted up a vase that he heard Aedion calling for him, and after pausing to roll his eyes, he returned to the older male, looking nothing short of pissed off. He missed most of what Aedion was saying, but as he came into hearing range, he gathered that some demons were hiding in the outskirts of the village. How foolish of them, he thought, crossing his arms over his chest with a huff as he stood beside Aedion. Suddenly the Nixie turned, looking Kellin dead in the eyes. "Alright, if you're looking to be a leader, what's your opinion on the situation? What would you do if you were me?" he asked, causing Kellin's temper to flare. Being a Vampire and a Davenport meant that he had difficulties controlling his emotions, and while he was careful with this around members of the rebellion, Aedion had rubbed him the wrong way with his statement and later his question.

"Who the fuck said I was trying to be a leader?" he snapped, hoping that Aedion would see the question as being rhetorical and not attempt to respond before Kellin gathered his thoughts to speak again. "But if I were in your position, I guess I'd sort my own shit out instead of pawning my responsibilities off on someone else," he growled, allowing one arm to drop to his side while the other reached for the hilt of his sword. "Obviously we have to fight them... They're lesser demons, I can sense it, and they're travelling in an unusually small horde so they won't be too difficult to fight. How many men do we have, eight?" he asked, giving a quick glance around. "Yeah, eight. We can fight them without breaking a sweat."

"Who the fuck said I was trying to be a leader?" Kellin snapped at Aedion, to which Aedion glowered at him and curled his fist. The prince's incolent son was just another person on his hate list, but he had gone along with Simon's orders because he had learned to trust his leadership. It didn't mean that he was prepared to take shit from a spoiled child. "But if I were in your position, I guess I'd sort my own shit out instead of pawning my responsibilities off on someone else," the kid growled, his hand falling to his sword and Aedion's doing the same.

"Watch your tongue, or I'll cut it out," Aedion snarled, his temper being unable to remain in check. He knew he'd hear about it later from Simon, but right now he didn't care.

"Obviously we have to fight them... They're lesser demons, I can sense it, and they're travelling in an unusually small horde so they won't be too difficult to fight. How many men do we have, eight?" Kellin asked, giving a quick glance around. "Yeah, eight. We can fight them without breaking a sweat."

At this, one of the demons snarled at the group, and yanked its claws out from the net, reaching towards the kid. Aedion leaped forward and cut off the demons hand with his sword, shoving Kellin behind him and towards the soldiers. "Next time that'll be your head," Aedion says to the cowering demon in a low, threatening, voice. His blood was boiling and he was in a far angrier mood than he'd ever been before. It was either the fact that he'd been told off in front of his men or the negative energy surrounding the village, but either way he was pissed. If Sarani were here, she'd tell him to breathe while she did some magic mojo but his sister wasn't here to save him this time, so he conserved his energy and was prepared to use all of it on the demons.

"Kellin, go back and find Aphylla. You watch her while she searches the village, take Wren with you," he pointed to a senior guard that had come along with them, "I don't care if you want to fight, you go with Aphylla," he was about to let them go when he went close to Kellin and looked him dead in the eye. He didn't trust him, and he didn't care if Kellin didn't trust him either. "If anything happens to her, even the queen couldn't protect you from me."

With Kellin gone, Aedion turned to the entrapped demons with his sword in one hand and a water whip in the other. His lips curving into an excited smirk, he let his senses shut down as he approached the demons with all of his pent up fury. He destroyed demon after demon, using his feelings about the rebellion, his mother's death, his queen's imprisonment, all of it to fuel his abilities. Before he knew it, the demons were dead and his seven men stood by him, all breathing heavily and exhilarated with the thrill of the fight.

"Good job, men. Let's find the others," he sheathed his sword and walked through the trees in search of Kellin and Aphylla.

Aphylla frowned at Aedion as she clutched the blade hilt in her hands, before pouting. "Fine, I'll stay out of the way." She then ducked in and around the houses, heading mainly for the small plots of gardens out in the back, she inspected the plants already growing, paying particular attention to their health and size, noting the herbs and plants she suspected Sarani could use for healing.

Ducking behind one house, she discovered a vibrant garden with colours and life in abundance. She felt a warmth wash over her, a warmth she'd missed being in the forest was all greens and browns, but this garden was like a rainbow, she missed how the humans used to decorate their world of iron and cement. With the wave of relief, Aphylla forgot about the brambles she had used to imprison the demons and suddenly felt a fiendish burn in her head, causing her to scream out in pain, dropping to the ground, as the demon clawed at her prison, the salt circle having being dispersed. Aphylla quickly separated her mind from the flora prison and picked herself up off the ground, the burning headache subsided but Aphylla felt drained and tired so she took a few seconds to breath and rest before inspecting the garden further.

The garden was alive, even in the presence of demons, with bugs and small birds, even a few mammals were scuttling about underneath the green. Aphylla then spotted several rare and incredibly potent healing herbs, she said her praise to the gods and carefully gathered them, imbuing them with her own magic to keep them alive long enough for her to get them back to Sarani. She then returned to the centre of the village to regroup with the gang but they seemed to still be deep in the forest, she sighed before taking a seat on a nearby barrel.

As she waited for the gang to return, she began drawing some symbols in the dirt with her foot before she heard footsteps. Aphylla quickly jumped off barrell and stepped out into the open. She looked about for Aedion but instead her eyes fell on a demon, she could smell the weak scent of sulphur and blood. She was frozen to the spot as the demon snarled at her and began to made slow steps towards her. She willed herself to run, even scream for Aedion or Kellin but nothing came out from her lips. She felt her breathing rise and her heart pound her chest as the demon took joy in her panic and fear, the smile on its face dawning the realisation that he had frozen her to the spot, he was a lesser fear demon. The realisation seemed to help her free herself from his petrification and she ran for the blade she'd earlier dropped. As she spun with the blade in hand, the demon had already advanced on her, the steel blade slashing the creatures chest as it ran at her. Aphylla stumbled with the blade as her twirl with the blade in hand threw her balance. Aphylla then stabled herself as the demon roared with anger and charged her again. Knowing she couldn't challenge the demon in a fit of rage, Aphylla turned to run and made for the forests, it would help her to be surrounded by nature and it would help the rebellion if she got the demon's corruption out of the village before it did any damage to the gardens.

Kellin suddenly felt himself being pushed backwards and into the group of soldiers that Aedion had been assigned, snarling as he attempted to regain his footing in time to see the hand of a demon hitting the floor. The young vampire looked up at Aedion, rage dancing behind his deep brown eyes. The male did not have any right to place a hand upon him, whether to save him or not.

"Kellin, go back and find Aphylla. You watch her while she searches the village, take Wren with you," Aedion ordered, which yet again elicited a low growl from the prince. "I don't care if you want to fight, you go with Aphylla." Kellin didn't like the way this male took charge of him, despite understanding that his father had ordered it; he was not loyal to any of his family, and he did not recognise Aedion's leadership, but for the sake of keeping up appearances he refrained from lunging forward. Then came the eye contact, in which the older male was practically daring Kellin to disobey. "If anything happens to her, even the Queen couldn't protect you from me." To this, Kellin smirked and, stepping forward only slightly, he returned the male's challenging stare. "Lay a hand on me and the Queen would give me your balls in a little wooden box," he snapped, sheathing his sword before he turned to carry out his 'command', eyeing the senior soldier that had been forced to accompany him. That was annoying, admittedly.

Kellin watched as Aphylla proceeded to check the houses and gardens alike, hopping from rooftop to rooftop in order to do so without the risk of being caught in conversation with the young blond. Nothing of her activites interested him, but a tiny thought in the back of his mind told him that if he allowed Aphylla to be injured, the Queen would most likely allow Aedion to take it out on the young vampire for being - as he would most likely think - incompetent. And so, as she released a scream of pain, Kellin's expression became one of concern, his eyes finding the dryad as she doubled over. It didn't last long, but Kellin had moved close enough that he was perched right on the edge of the roof. From there, he once again lost interest in her actions. He instead shifted his gaze around the rest of the village, or at least what he could see of it from his position. This was, of course, until he felt an unsettling presence behind him, and after hearing sounds of a scuffle originating from Aphylla's location, Kellin spun on his heel just in time to take note of a roaring demon, quickly approaching a fleeing Aphylla.

Rolling his eyes, Kellin crouched for a moment before springing upwards, using his vampiric strength to push his weight which left great damage in the roof where he once stood. He managed to propel himself in front of the fast-moving pair, shifting to the side quick enough that Aphylla could run past him, before stepping to his original position and taking the demon by the throat. The creature's tactics worked little on him, though the sudden weight crashing into him causing him to step back. The demon's hands shot up, gripping hold of his arm and digging down with long, sharp nails, while its legs kicked wildly at his own - and his abdomen when they could reach high enough. Kellin released a grunt of pain, before tightening his grip on the creature's throat and using his enhanced strength to crush its windpipe. After a moment, the demon slumped to the ground, face down.

Kellin walked up to the creature and used a foot to turn its body over, releasing a small sound of approval at his handiwork, despite staring at the corpse of a man he once called a comrade. "Not bad, if I do say so myself," he murmured, before looking up to check for Aphylla, who - if she had any sense at all - would have stopped running by now.

Aedion's head whipped to his left as he heard Aphylla scream, his legs beginning to pound as he veered in her direction. I'm going to kill him, he thought to himself about the insolent prince. No, better yet, I'm going to tear out all of his organs and feed them to demons, then I'll kill him, he reasoned civilly. His men struggled to keep up with him, they were still a mile from the village and Aedion had no sense of patience.

He collided with Aphylla head on, turning in the air so that when they fell she was on top of him and he bore most of the impact. He grunted, but quickly forgot about it and brushed Aphylla's hair from her face. "Are you okay?" He asked her, looking for any signs of injury. Seeing none, he sat them both up and stood, a teasing light shining in his eyes. "If you wanted to be on top, all you had to do was ask," he smirked. Suddenly, his ears picked up the sounds of footsteps, and his nose picked up their scent. Grimacing, he turned to see Kellin walking towards the group, his gait much too light for combat, making Aedion's nostrils flare with hidden rage.

"What happened?" He asked, though it was phrased less like a question and more like a death threat. Here in front of him was a child, regardless of his actual age, since his brain hadn't seemed to develop much at all. Even his presence made Aedion's skin crawl, either because the child had no sense of responsibility, or because he just didn't care. If Aedion didn't know any better, he'd say Kellin was fighting for the wrong side, and should run to Victoria while he still could. But, he valued his face, so he kept his mouth shut.

As Aphylla dashed through the trees, she heard the sound of wood cracking and falling in on itself before the sound of something rushing through the air sounded above her and a shadowed figure landed in front of her, panicking Aphylla picked up her pace breathing in the strength of the trees around her to plough through the figure but it simply stepped aside and let her trudge on through the forest, she slowed to a jog as she looked back to see what the figure was and then recognised it as Kellin, who had the demon in its throat.

Before Aphylla could stop herself, she collided into a large mass which twisted itself around her, she recognised the heat and tenderness in the mass and instead of grunting she started giggling to herself. She opened her eyes as she lay on top of the herculean Aedion, his muscles hiding his tender nature as he brushed stray hairs away from her face. As he brushed her hair out of her face, she began to notice his features, she could see now why he was very popular in the camp. She felt her eyes linger too long and thankfully he asked her a question and she blushed quickly before answering him. ”I’m just peachy.” She smiled, ”Well, now I’m quite hungry for some peaches.” After having been giving the once over for any damage, Aedion sat her on the dirt and stood over her, commenting about how they ended up on the floor. ”Where would be the fun in asking?” She asked with a shrug and roll of the eyes, as she reclined on the floor, using her hands to keep her propped up.

She heard the footsteps and looked over to Kellin and gave him a smile. ”Hey, Kellin, thanks for that.” She gave him a thumbs up before standing herself up and stepping between him and Aedion, who was being particularly fierce about her protection. ”Hey, big guy, it’s okay.” She lightly ran her hand over his bicep. ”Honestly, I could have handled it. I did slash the demon’s chest open, after all. I just needed to get the upper hand and protect the gardens.” As if the very word had sent alarm bells through her head, she excitedly fidgeted, like the girl she used to be before the war was trying to break out. ”Oh my goddess! The gardens!” She squeaked, before grabbing Aedion’s arm and tugging him. ”You have to see it! It’s so pretty!” She then let go of his arm and started to push him from behind, like a big child trying to push a giant, but he was not budging for all her strength. ”Hey, Herc, let’s go!”
