A P P E A R A N C E

Bertoldo stands at a height of approximately 6'0" with a slim but muscular build. He has long, curly brown hair, piercing blue eyes, and overall very attractive features - aside from the 'unnatural beauty' and allure that his kind often possess. As he recalls it, his Vampiric abilities and immortality only began to develop in his late twenties. Despite his high stature within the clan's hierarchy and his Lordly demeanor, he typically dresses in a casual style, and seldom appears well-groomed.

His clan are most notably recognized among Supernaturals for their second form, or their "true form." Beneath every strangely beautiful vampire lies a predatory beast. They tear away their skin when night falls, and reveal a leathery, grey-skinned creature that makes no distinction between friend and foe, with the exception of other vampires of the clan. Their only instinct is to attack and kill anything with a heartbeat.

They have hawk-like black eyes, large and pointed ears, deep slits in place of nostrils, and long, jagged fangs that protrude from their gums and make them all the more fearsome to stand face-to-face with. Not to mention their over-sized talons could cut through metal. They're monsters, through and through. And when they feed, they don't leave two dainty little holes, they'll rip the whole body to shit.

Ever since the creation of something they call 'serum', they have been able to keep their true form locked away within themselves. With the serum in their bloodstream, they cannot shed their skin, though it is tight and itchy of a night time, and overall they are more irritable.

P O W E R S

Enhanced Beauty | Even if he had remained human, he would be handsome by most people's standards, but as it is he is almost disquietingly beautiful.
Immortality | His aging completely halted in his late twenties so he cannot die from old age, he is immune to disease, and with his enhanced resistance to physical harm coupled with his self-healing, he is naturally difficult to kill, even in human form.
Blood Empowerment | He gains power/energy from consuming the blood of living creatures, relative to the species and amount consumed.
Supernatural Form | His senses are heightened, as are his physical attributes, even in human form. Of course he is more powerful in his second form, when allowed to shift. He heals faster and doesn't scar.
Darkness Healing | He heals insanely fast when submerged in darkness.

O T H E R

- When hungry, he gets dark patches around his eyes and will frequently touch his throat or swallow loudly and with great difficulty.
- He must drink serum every night at 9pm or he'll likely turn.
- If exposed to sunlight, he will quite literally burn to death.
- The blood of different supernatural species will often have varied side effects and benefits. For example: Fae blood wards him against sunlight.

After leaving his valet to deal with the Fae Queen, Bertoldo had retreated immediately to his personal study, a room in which he spent the majority of his time during the day, located on the highest floor of the building behind the furthest door on the right side of the corridor. A small, silver plaque against the wood read 'Lord Ettore', which had been there even during his father's rule. Despite the elegance of the rest of his home, the study was rather simple and far from fancy. It held a single desk in the centre, and book shelves against every wall. There were windows, strangely, because he often enjoyed looking out on the streets of a night time. When morning came he would simply draw the curtains to block out the sunlight.

Once the initial shock of his actions had worn off, Bertoldo had allowed himself a moment or two to acknowledge the surge of power he was experiencing. Typically, so late into the night, his skin began to feel tight and uncomfortable, and he would have given anything to pull away the skin that kept him human. As it was, he felt nothing of the sort; he laughed aloud at the thought that perhaps her blood cured him in some way. It was unlike anything he'd felt before in all his countless years of life, and after a few hours he found himself craving more, once the power began to dampen and his skin became tight and itchy once more. He wasn't cured, the effects were only temporary. He felt strongly disappointed, and in his oversensitive state, that disappointment quickly shifted to loud, uncontrollable anger.

By morning, Bertoldo was surrounded by the remains of what used to be a decent collection of old books and diaries he would write in to keep track of his long history, within something that used to be considered a library. Thousands of years worth of information lay scattered across his floor; some shelves had merely toppled over, others had been reduced to planks of wood thrown every which way. Bertoldo leaned against his desk, which had remained as it always had in the centre of the room, seemingly untouched by his rage.

Part of him wondered if Erieda had yet woken, if she'd ever fallen asleep at all. His leg was shaking for what felt like the longest time, indicating his impatience, and after releasing a heavy exhale of breath, he was suddenly standing. Three long strides and he was at the door, hand hovering over the handle, when suddenly her scent filled his nostrils. He stood like a deer caught in headlights, his eyes darting left to right and his nose crinkling, as if trying to determine how close she actually was, before his hand finally made contact with the handle and he was pulling the door open. To his surprise, she was stood before him, dressed only in the night gown he assumed had been given to her for her to sleep in. He couldn't help himself, and looked her up and down, saying nothing for the longest time.

Eventually he cleared his throat, and forced himself to stand a little taller. If he was human, he might have flushed red at the thought of her seeing what he'd done to his study, so he stepped out of the room and closed the door behind himself suddenly. "Erieda," he began with a slight nod. "I... I wasn't expecting a visit," he continued, as if this was any kind of valid excuse to explain away the mess. He remained silent then. Never before had he felt so flustered, normally he did well to keep his composure, even in awkward or dangerous situations. Erieda was something else entirely... Aside from all the business about forming alliance against his Council's wishes, the only thing he could focus on was the events of the night before, and how much he was craving more of her blood, despite not being particularly hungry.

"I do apologize for fleeing so suddenly," Bertoldo spoke up again. "Your blood... It's stronger than anything I'm used to. My emotions were just... all over the place." Despite himself, he reached for her hand with his own without a moment's hesitation, and cupped it with the other. "It was incredibly rude of me... And if there's anything I can do to make it up to you, please do let me know."

She felt him as he moved to the door, and wasn't surprised when he opened it. As he drew closer it was as if she was being drawn herself. She wanted....she just wanted. His eyes appraised her body through the thin gown and her blood ran hot. It took all she had not to reach for him. A touch from him, now...would not fare well.
"Erieda," He said finally, calling her from her more interesting thoughts with a clearing of his throat. He seemed to be just as conflicted as she was. "I...I wasn't expecting a visit,'" He said and she could say nothing. Her eyes only found his, and she wanted so badly to touch hi but she had to control herself, she could not let this...affliction cloud her judgment any further.
Her heart thumped loudly against her chest, and she could barely breathe. She heard the words he was saying but it was as if she was watching herself, watch him with a dazed look in her eyes.
"I do apologize for fleeing so suddenly," He said and again, she said nothing. "Your blood... It's stronger than anything I'm used to. My emotions were just... all over the place."

She would have laughed at that had she not being so drugged, all she managed was a small nod then the unthinkable happened. He reached up, taking her hand and cupping it in his. "It was incredibly rude of me... And if there's anything I can do to make it up to you, please do let me know." He said and Erieda heard herself say "I need you to do it again.>" She said and her mind told her that was a mistake. She did not need this. She couldn't be selfish anymore. Her people needed her healthy body and spirit and this ...this was a drug, like a mortal opiate, the more she had the stronger the control. She did not need this...and yet, she could not lie. Her Fae tongue was unable to tell untruths and the truth is...She needed it. She needed to feel that again.

"I should not want it, but....it seems you have an effect on me as well....and ..." She watched herself move closer to him, she could feel her body radiating allure, she didn't have the strength to hold it back, not now. Perhaps if he did it once more, then perhaps she could build an immunity to it then she could prepare her people, those that wanted to help. Train them in resistance.
"Please." She breathed before she could think better of it and before she knew what happened she was close enough to feel his breath on her skin.

"I need you to do it again."

Bertoldo couldn't help himself, he laughed. It was a short, quiet laugh, barely audible even, but a laugh nonetheless. Of course once the amusement subsided and he realised her request was serious, his expression shifted dramatically into one of confusion mixed with concern.

There was no doubt in his mind that he wanted more of her blood. Not only was it morning, where he could test whether her promise of being exposed to sunlight without harm had any validity, but her blood fuelled him with such power that he'd never felt before. The blood's rich taste aside, that power could be heavily addictive on its own. So yes, he would have given anything to immediately use such an invite to his own advantage, but something was holding him back. She was a Queen, a guest in his home, and although they'd known each for all of a few hours, he'd come to respect her in some small way.

"I should not want it, but... it seems you have an effect on me as well... and..." She continued, before her voice trailed off and she moved closer. Bertoldo visibly tensed, clamping his jaw shut and pursing his lips. He could hear her heart racing, and the thought of consuming more of her blood was causing his fangs to lengthen once more, so much so that they were digging into his lips, threatening to emerge. Something he couldn't quite put his finger on was drawing him closer, causing her to seem more irresistible, and he got the strange feeling that this strong attraction wasn't entirely natural. "Please," she spoke up once more, now close enough that whatever was left of his logic and free thought had dissolved, and the only thing left behind was the uncontrollable desire to sink his teeth in. It was decided then.

"Sir," a familiar voice called from down the hallway as Bertoldo was wrapping his arms around Erieda's waist, drawing her forward to close the small gap left between them. "Sir..." the voice called again, as one hand trailed a path up her back to her shoulder, fingers pulling at the fabric that covered her skin until it slipped a small ways down her arm. "SIR!" Whoever the voice belonged to, they were far too brave for the Vampire's liking. Bertoldo's head snapped up, teeth bared as a feral snarl rose from his throat. The Council member stood frozen at the top of the staircase, as if the sudden display of aggression was one she was not used to seeing from the Lord. It took only a moment for her to turn and flee. Bertoldo was not in any state to think reasonably, but even so, doing this out in the open corridor was too much of a risk.

His hands moved from her back and he grabbed her by the wrist, a little roughly, to lead her back into his study regardless of the mess he'd created and then tried to hide. As soon as the door closed behind them he had her against the wall. The hand on her wrist held her harm against it, and he used the weight of his own body to pin hers in place while he lowered his head to her shoulder once more. His teeth scraped the surface of her skin, before they pierced it with such force that he had a hard time swallowing the blood as it oozed out. He felt it dribbling down his chin, staining the collar of his white shirt, and after only a short time he'd had his fill. His tongue flicked over the wounds to heal them, but even once he'd withdrawn his teeth from her shoulder, he couldn't bring himself to step away. Still pinning her in place, he rested his forehead against the wall and tried to regain his composure, his breathing still laboured.

Before Erieda knew what happened, she was yanked into the next room by the wrist. Lord Bertoldo pinned her against the wall, with his body, the arm he used to pull her was pressed against the wall as well. Erieda barely had time to look at him before he sank his teeth into her skin. Her heart thundered in her chest as she gasped at the first initial pain. Before it had only been a pinch but he wasn't being gentle now and nor did she want him to. Her fingers clenched for a moment before it gave way to the pleasure she was seeking. All she could do was moan against the sensation.

It was over more quickly than her drugged mind would have liked but her logical mind did not want to bleed to death so instead of pulling hm back to her like she almost did. She took this time to take a breath, shivering a little as his tongue dragged across her neck to close the wound. She didn't want to tell him he didn't need to do that, she would heal on her own but it felt much too good.

Still pinned against him, she looked up as he pressed his forehead to the wall. She opened her mouth to speak, still dazed no words formed. She instead licked her lips, dry all of a sudden and tried again. "Bertoldo." She breathed. "Look at me." She whispered but once he did, she couldn't remember what she wanted to say, instead, her hand rose and cupped his cheek, her head tilting as if he was a piece of art she didn't quite understand before she leaned up, capturing his lips before she could think better of it.
