Name
Nebellia de Rozeriem
Nickname
She will respond to Nebbs, more often than not, or Nebby
Age
27 (To be more accurate, she is probably closer to around 2 millennia)
Gender
Female
Appearance
Nebellia has creamy, caramel skin with an almost unnatural smoothness to it without any sort of blemishes. Her hair is a daring hue of violent, perhaps a bit closer to a lavender-black. It is cut into a wild sort of pixie style with thick bangs falling just above her long lashes. She has hazel-golden eyes, though the orbs appear more golden for the most part and are constantly lit with her internal amusement. Her eyes are always widened with her perception into things and give her the look of someone eternally curious. A woman of vibrant fashion, she adores the many ruffles of her sleeves and the poufiness of her skirt. Completing her outfit with an adornment of bows, ribbons, and a well-hidden corset to perhaps embellish the faint curves she possesses, she could be classified as an attractive female. Though she wears shoes to formal occasions, for the most part, she prefers to waltz around with nothing whatsoever upon her feet.
Occupation
The ever-eccentric royal adviser to the vampire king who may or may not also be a rather odd scientist
Skills/Equipment
Nebellia is a scientist, first and foremost, and as such, uses her intelligent mind to concoct a variety of chemicals and potions. Depending on the varying levels of her sanity at the moment of composition, this can effect the potency or lethality of what she creates. This seems to always give her the constant smell of chemicals about her, but it is not unpleasant and can be regarded as her own, personal perfume. In addition, Nebellia is fully practiced in the art of sanguinary magicks (otherwise known as blood magicks) This was more born out of her need to experiment and alchemize and she discovered a new way to utilize the blood within the body. With this ability, she can coax the blood into different shapes and even techniques--though to what extent, she always mysteriously leaves that a blank figure. Strangely, she is also something of an acrobat and extremely flexible. Though she will not physically engage anyone in a fight, she does tend to do an absurd amount of tricks--such as cartwheels, handstands, splits--you name it, you'll see her do it at some point.
Personality
The first and most important thing to note about Nebellia is that she is almost completely insane. One would think this would impede her judgement but instead, it only works to heighten it. She is an incredibly intelligent woman, so much so she can be very intimidating in her manner. All of this works to contribute to the process of her mind, which works somewhat like an on/off switch. Despite what others may think, she is always fully aware of when she switches between sanity and insanity. The key with her is that she chooses to be insane, not that she actually has had a full, mental breakdown.
She is unmatched and unrivaled in her ability to strategize and plan--but the way she communicates all that she sees can be odd. At times, it may seem as if she is putting others in danger, which works to incite a sort of hostile relationship with the captain of the vampire guards. Mind, she doesn't ever really bother feeling negative feelings towards the captain and often becomes amused when the guard is ill at ease with her. Her bizarre speech patterns may also be off-putting, as she never uses any respectful titles when she should and gives almost mocking ones to those she should not anger. Yet there is something about her that is unnaturally likeable so it is difficult to remain angry at her for long.
When she chooses to act sane, she is a wonderful conversationalist and quite the alluring woman. In fact, she would have a number of suitors if not for that... quirk to just revert to insanity to provide her own means of entertainment. This is often accompanied by random bursts of laughter and a quip that often goes over the heads of everyone in her vicinity. This takes a bit of getting used to but she will not act nearly so erratic around people who can hold her attentions. Her constant need to be taken by something leads her to have an infatuation and borderline obsession with her work. She will throw herself whole-heartedly into her experiments and not surface for days if left undisturbed, though she will always come if the king summons her. She seems to have something of a soft spot for the man and will always act sane around him, which can be disquieting to everyone else since she will turn that wild, insane grin upon others when they attempt to engage her.
She is neutral towards mostly everyone, having come to a point where she realizes that idle hatred will get her research nowhere. This neutrality allows her to view others in a light that perhaps other of her kin may not--though she still holds a vague distaste for the lykae. (This is clearly a trait inherited from being a vampire, or so she has surmised) She is always nabbing creatures for her experiments and tests. She is content so long as they are of a different species, particularly humans. She has a great infatuation with the creatures, since their blood is the life-source of her kind. If a human has proven themself to be something more than a test subject to her, she is fully capable of acting in a manner mimicking friendship. In fact, it is typical behavior for her to launch herself in a spine-breaking hug upon a person she is fond of, so watch out, her grip is life-threatening.
Aside from most of her quirks, she is a woman that, perhaps from a distance, may look lonely with a pained sort of melancholic air about her. Nebellia understands much of the ways and workings of the world and it saddens her to see unnecessary strife. She will do as she must in order to preserve her way of life and protect the king, but knowledge can be tiring on the bearer. She holds up pretty well and most will never see her true exhaustion. But during the scant hours when she sleeps, she is prone to "night" terrors and it is the only time one would see her display any sort of overlaying weakness. She busies herself to distract herself, for she does wish to be comforted and perhaps not always carry the burden of making decisions all the time. Still, life continues, as must she, and she does her best to play her part in the grand scheme of things well.
History
Nebellia had not always started off as the nearly always insane scientist she is. Once upon a time, she was a belle of the vampire kingdom with a mind that was just a bit too intelligent. She was born into a royal family (perhaps her status equivalent would be that to a duchess or a countess). However, she had always stood out, for her mental capacity was always far and above those that surrounded her. There is a theory that it was her intelligence that actually drove her to insanity, but the woman will never speak of how the switch between sides developed. Suffice to say it was something she incorporated into her person.
She first caught the eyes and attentions of the royal family at the age of 500, when she submitted in her detailed analysis of the human race and the different variants that would effect their blood. What had started as a mere explanation soon gave her a position by the king's side, for there was some recognition of all she could contribute (despite her zany behavior). She has grown quite comfortable in this position since then and though she may be discomforting, she does command respect as none can fully duplicate her works. She has been around for a good portion of Alexander's kingship, having seen him through not one but two wives and was present during the entire duration of his daughter's life. One would notice there are rather large gaps missing from her past as well as interactions, but she is a surprisingly secretive woman when it comes to her personal life, so few if any know it.
Other
Don't be surprised to find her literally cartwheeling down flights of stairs or suddenly appearing from nowhere. Her behavior is anything but predictable, well, perhaps to anyone besides the king.
Post
Oh, this wouldn't do, this would not do at all. What was it she needed again? The soft pitter patter of bare feet against marble was hurried and uneven, as if rushed. There was a flutter of black and white lace and a flash of gold as the figure of a woman descended a rather large staircase in a hurry. To anyone that viewed her from a distance, she was a striking sort with a beautiful, sweet sort of visage. However, she also appeared to not be wearing any shoes, which might've brought to mind the question as to why she would not. The woman didn't seem too preoccupied with this though as she progressed down the stairs.
As she reached the last few stairs, she shifted her weight to the front of her foot, causing her body to lean forwards. Expertly, she flowed with this descent and balanced on her hands as she did an artful cartwheel, balancing on to her feet gracefully. She twirled along as if nothing had even happened, arms held out parallel to the ground as she walked through the hallways. Several of the vampire guards that were stationed around the grand palace sent her odd looks, for Nebellia was a woman that often required a double, perhaps even triple look back. Her golden eyes were wide with thought as she stepped lightly, turning the corner and spotting her destination. Her beloved laboratory.
"There you are, you tricky devil," She murmured, leaning forwards and placing her teeth upon the knob. To anyone else, this looked questionable but the scientist always had a trick or five up her sleeve. Hidden in a slot under the knob was a very miniscule needle, which pricked the tip of her tongue as she flicked it against the pointy object. The door instantly recognized her blood signature and unlocked itself, allowing her to enter. She worked her way inside and turned her eyes upon her lab, papers scattered about messily and test tubes lying broken, cracked, or bubbling all around the place. She sighed, a wide grin unwinding on to her face. Ah, home sweet home~
She breathed in the musty scent as she eased towards her desk, plopping herself in a very casual manner atop the table. Not on the chair, that looked uncomfortable. Besides, rolling upon tables often gave her good ideas. Which is promptly what she began to do, ignoring the over-turned chemicals that were beginning to soak into her dress. Right on the tip of her tongue, she needed something, what was it, what was it... Then it hit her, the woman straightening from her position with speed, a pace that for sure would've displaced something if a human had attempted it.
Ah! She remembered, she was out of humans! Yes yes, that was precisely what she needed~ But. Where to find some more... Her grin instantly faded into a frown and she crossed her arms with a huff. Why were her toys always breaking? They never lasted for longer than a week and she had been less rough than usual to! A knock at the door brought her out of her unladylike pout and Nebellia rolled off the table, balancing on her hands and lifting herself up into a handstand. She tottered a bit before spinning to her feet, straightening and edging to the door.
"M-Miss Nebellia, the king requests your presence." The door shot open faster than the guard on the other side could've anticipated. He clearly must've been leaning against it for he went reeling back with the impact the wood made against his skull. Oh well, he had a thick one by the sounds of it!
"Does this involve new test subjects? Because I'm all out, and there's nothing in the refrigerator." The man looked confused as he massaged the now bruised area.
"I--what? No, I don't know what he needs--I was just sent to retrieve you." Nebellia leaned in rather close to this man, and she could see how uncomfortable he became. Ah, but what was that? A blush upon his cheeks? Naughty, naughty~ She grinned wildly at him and released a shout of laughter, so loud that he jumped up in surprise. This man was clearly new, for only the newbies ever bothered to knock on her door and they only ever did so once. She licked her lips, letting the tips of her fangs show through as if contemplating him as her next meal. The guard shivered, hurriedly bowing to her and scrambling backwards. "U-Uh, right, so that was all..." He trailed off as he staggered a few steps before promptly turning on his heel and walking swiftly away. Honestly, she wasn't all that... Nah, she was pretty damn scary. Her experiments forgotten, the woman exited her lab and began to skip down the hallway, arms held out once more as she made her way to gracing the king with her presence.
