In one word, Esobela's personality would be described as erratic. There’s a reason why she’s in a mental institution. She has mood swings and random bursts of anger. She can often not control her bipolar behaviors when she is going through something emotionally straining. Because of her actions, Esobela tries to not get close to people, in fear of destroying a relationship instantly. But, underneath the exterior Esobela is just sensitive girl trying to find her way after her mother’s untimely death. Esobla loves animals and used to always be around them, for they sedated her more than any medication every could.
History:
Esobela cannot remember a time when she was not in a dark depression. Her mother was her rock, he sunshine amidst a dark existence. But, it was all taken away from her when she witnessed her step-father murder her mother out of pure rage. Justice was not properly served, and Esobela’s step-father remained a free man. She ran away from home for a time, battling homelessness and being off of her medications. She returned home one night with revenge on her mind. She attempted to stab her step-father to death, but failed. She was deemed insane and sent to the insane asylum.
At the sanatorium, experiments to change the color of Esobela’s eyes were performed. Her eyes were changed to a strange electric green color, and she can now see things that torture her very existence. She can see and communicate with those who have passed on to the next world. The spirits tell her of how they died and ask for her to end their suffering, but she doesn’t know how. So, the sad phantoms further her insanity, for she wishes to help them so badly. She also fears that one day her mother will communicate with her, and she won’t know how to help her own passed mother’s suffering.
