A quiet scientist with a talent for and familiarity in biology, Slate always seems as though he knows more than he lets on.
It's always the quiet ones.
Very reserved and secretive when he can be, Slate is structured, calm, and pointedly sociable in an odd sort of way. He goes out of his way to talk with others, but does little more than ask questions, revealing little about himself--especially his past on Earth. He is amiable and laid-back, though not overly good-natured or kind-hearted. There always appears to be something else on his mind. Slate will talk eagerly about anything related to biology, plants, animals, nature and the outdoors, however; it's one of the few times he opens up.
Standard. A small bookshelves' worth of literature and reference books--mostly on biology, horticulture, and practical guides to caring for plant and animal life of all sorts--and a few personal items.
Slate doesn't like sharing most of his past; the ship's biography logs will simply tell you he was a child in the middle class in France with exceptional grades that simply rose to the top, applied, and was accepted into the Pioneer Program a few years ago.
