Alex is a generally happy and upbeat person around people he likes. His friends are, once made, as close as family. He values loyalty and friendship. He has a soft spot held in his heart for love.
Alex always has on his person emergency First Aid Kits (for those troublesome Fire, Electric and Bug type injuries that trainers get everyday). He also carries with him a sketch pad and pencils as well as a journal for after living 18 years without a Pokemon partner of his own he got very good at drawing them and recording stories he had of encounters with wild Pokemon or those belonging to his friends and family. He carries these in a large messenger bag whose strap crosses his body. In the bag he also stores all Pokedollars, two bottles of water, food mix and some fruit, and a video camera , as well as any and all items he picks up along the way.
Alex and his family have lived in Ciano Town their entire life. Alex spent the later years studying at the Pokemon Academy while his family stayed home and worked. His father is the Pokemon Professor of the Eyatu Region and is one who is fair, giving Alex the "last pick" of a Pokemon when the day came for him to choose his partner. People came and went, collecting cute baby Pokemon and starting evolution Pokemon. When everyone had left there was one Pokeball remaining. He picked it up, pocketed it and walked out, stating to his father that it didn't matter what the Pokemon was, it mattered that it was his partner now. Using the Croagunk which he chose and aptly named Bane, he later captured his first Pokemon: Twitch, a Joltik. After graduating his parents gave him his latest Pokemon: Duster, the Sandile.
