Hisui Shirin

"Hello. Hmmm? Oh, it's nothing. I thought I just saw some blood a while ago. By the way, watch out for that twig."

0 · 1,684 views · located in The Hoenn Region

a character in “Pokemon: Awakening of Lords”, as played by SkyCladSaya06

Description

Name:Hisui Shirin. (Prefers to be called Shirin.)
Image

Age:19? "I'm not sure. I hardly remember."

Gender:Female."Ummm..."

Theme Song: Ignis - Annabel(Normal), Sweet, sweet cendrillon drug - Megurine Luka(Insane)

Starting Town:Lived in Oldale Town. Will start at the Rest House.

Personality: A very detached and unsociable person, Shirin is quite distant from other humans and even from her own Pokemon. Though she still treats them in a nice manner, she doesn't really view them as partners than as pets or even tools. Her cold exterior is to mask the fragile state her body is currently in as she has a tendency to collapse due to exhaustion. All that aside, she also displays some sort of childish traits like hating vegetables and giving her Pokemon some weird nicknames.

Appearance:She is littered with bandages all over her body and just above her left eye.

History:Born as a daughter of a wealthy family, they originally lived in Mauville until she was ten. They moved to Pacifidlog for a few months for her dad to research some ancient relics. An incident with Team Magma, who had heard that Groudon was in the area, had unleashed the Land Pokemon which proceeded to decimate everything in sight, including her mansion. Shirin was the only one from her family who got caught in the fire, killing her first Pokemon: a Vulpix. She suffered varying degrees of burns afterwards forcing her family to seek treatment in Lilycove where she stayed for a long time. Due to medical innovations at this time, her skin had completely recovered though some of her scars remained. They had her moved to Oldale Town so the natural setting would benefit her recovery and it is there where she got a gift from her dad: A Mudkip, which initially frightened her. She began to go from place to place, challenging Trainers and Gyms without much motivation. Having learned that Team Magma had resumed operations, her quest moved from a casual one to one of vengeance that won't stop until all of them are caught. Or dead.

Weapons: She learned fencing when she was young, so she usually carries a long silver rapier with her. She also wields a pair of katars she picked up.

Her Rapier:

Katars:
Image

Likes: Music, nature, silence, art. (She's a Romanticist.), growing Berries.

Dislikes: Team Magma (With a Passion), cocky and arrogant people, Pokemon, water, spicy food, vegetables, exhausting trips.

Other: Unknown to her, she has an ability to see a glimpse of the future three seconds before it happens. What she sees are merely fragments and not the whole picture plus she isn't fully aware of it. She is also decent at infiltrating bases, first-aid and PokeBlock making. Other miscellaneous skills include playing the guitar and a bit of social dancing.

Pokemon:
On Hand:
Image
Arondight (Swampert - Male): A Pokemon Shirin got as a gift, making it her second Pokemon next to her deceased Vulpix. Despite being the one who had been with her longer than any other Pokemon, she is not that close to him and is not very fond of it. She initially viewed it as a caring Pokemon who is not suited for intense battles but her opinion of him changed upon its evolutions. Due to the incident that paved way for him to evolve into a Swampert, Arondight has a bunch of bandages tied around his arms.

Image
Setsura (Gardevoir - Female): The first Pokemon Shirin caught. It is the closest one to her having defended her a bunch of times. Due to the innate nature of this Pokemon and her natural affinity with them, she managed to completely gain this Pokemon's loyalty. She gave it a scarf that she got. Among all her Pokemon, this is one Pokemon she isn't afraid of.

Image
Mari (Mismagius - Female): Shirin's "mascot" Pokemon. Due to its nature as a Ghost, she usually utilizes it for scouting and reconnaissance. This Pokemon is known to be quite mischievous, always doing things not instructed to her.

Image
Gilgamesh (Gyarados - Male): A Magikarp that Shirin got for 500. ("Damn that pusher.") After much rigorous training, she managed to get it to evolve though at the expense of it becoming more aggressive. Although, it listens to her commands, controlling it really takes its toll on her stamina. Used primarily as a water transport.

Image
Kanshou (Flygon - Male): Everytime Shirin needs to travel on air, she turns to this Pokemon. It has a twin Flygon named Byakuya who isn't used much compared to him. Trained with much more emphasis on speed, he has longer wings and tail than most species.

Image
Kshatriya (Scizor - Female): With most of her Pokemon with emphasis on special attack, Kshatriya was introduced as a shock absorber to augment their physical offense. It is usually sent out first and has a very decent survivability on the battlefield.

On standby(At the PC):
Image
Susano'o (Mightyena - Male): Shirin acquired this Pokemon sometime after Setsura. The savage fights it's had with Magma's Mightyena's have left it with a lot of scars, most noticeably, the one on it's left eye.

Image
Amaterasu (Ninetales - Female): A Pokemon she had owned for quite some time, she barely uses it in battle. She caught this Pokemon back when it was still a Vulpix, in order to remember her deceased one. The few battles it has seen have given it some good battle instincts.

Image
Izanami (Absol - Female): A Pokemon she caught on a whim. It impressed her with its strong attacks and was her front line physical attacker for a time. Due to Izanami's low defense growth, she was replaced with the more stable Kshatriya yet stays as part of Shirin's Pokemon.

Image
Tsukuyomi (Manectric - Male): Shirin used this Pokemon during the times she had to go on long cruises on the sea.

Image
Izanagi (Houndoom - Male): Among all of her stored Pokemon, this one has been rotated so many times. She mostly uses this when traveling during the winter.

Image
Steiner (Sharpedo - Male): A very vicious Pokemon that Shirin had owned back to when it was still a Carnvanha. It requires even more skill to control than Gilgamesh but is in no less useful. "Ironic isn't it? I detest the sea, but I own a lot of water-types."

So begins...

Shirin lay down at one of the beds prepared at the old rest house. From her side, she could feel a warm, soft blast of air flowing. Struggling to fight back drowsiness, she willed her eyes to open. It way past noon and the slowly setting sun had dyed the scenery with cascading shades of red and orange. And with it, an unfamiliar Pokemon that stood near her side.

She initially backed away at the sight of this behemoth, with it's large black fins protruding from it's head and those giant arms. It let out a hoarse growl and propped itself up on a sitting position, which surprised her.

"Don't recognize him? It's your old Pokemon." The caretaker of the place informed her. "While you were lying down unconscious on the road there, your Marshtomp never left your side."

Shirin felt her forehead. She remembered passing out on the way to Fallarbor. "It was fighting against some Skarmory, which probably triggered this evolution." The old lady narrating.

Shirin gazed at her Pokemon's new form. Originally, she had found no use for it in most of her fights. "So will it be able to make a difference now?" She stood up to leave, the hulking Swampert following her. "Thanks for the accommodation, Grandma." She thanked the old lady and left. "Skarmory, flocking around me...why do they seem out of place in this environment?"

As she was walking, she saw some Camerupt grazing around. "Why do they seem out of place as well?" And with that she activated Swampert's Pokeball, sending him out into the open. "Take them down..." She whispered a cold order to the Swampert. Soon enough, Arondight came crashing down on those grazing Camerupt on a wave of murky water. "Camerupt and Skarmory, here? I won't be surprised if Team Magma operates nearby..."

"This world had gotten a tad bit more dangerous..." Shirin stood over the trampled grasslands, scattering ash into the air. Arondight had just finished fighting another Camerupt, it's icy fist still embedded unto its hump. "That's enough for now. Let's go."
The Swampert obeyed its Trainer's order and went back inside it's ball. From there Shirin kept on walking until she reached Fallarbor. The ash fields seemed disturbed a little. Not by her, that's for sure.

She entered the Pokemon Center and headed straight for the counter. An enthusiastic nurse greeted her and asked for her Pokemon, to which she just placed absentmindedly on a specialized container. As the nurse started to take her Pokemon, she promptly called out. "Wait a minute," She took out one Pokeball from the batch and walked away before the nurse asks any more questions. She sat down on one of the benches, a good distance away from all other Trainers around her. "I don't think I'll ever understand this things they call bonds with these creatures." She mumbled under her breath as she stared at the one she took out.

After healing, she collected all of her Pokemon and went outside, looking for an inn to stay for the night. She found one just in the outskirts next to the Fossil Maniac's House. She checked inside and lied down on the soft bed and shut her eyes. Meanwhile, within the quiet town, a black spectre was going in and out of various infrastructures, seemingly on the hunt for something.

Which is how she had planned it.

Shirin woke up the following day with a headache. It has been occurring quite recently; the stress of the journey was starting to take its toll on her. But she couldn't stop now, not when she is this close in finding Magma's hideout. For the next few minutes, she just sat upright, rubbing her forehead before getting dressed and heading outside.

Outside, people were gossiping about some ghost that had suddenly shown up in their homes. Nothing like that had ever occurred before so the townsfolk were a little worried. But Shirin just passed them by without much notice as a Zigzagoon followed her. Upon reaching the outskirts of town, she took a seat beneath the shade of a tree as the Zigzagoon went into her lap and tried to cuddle her.

"Don't sleep there." She lifted it up and placed it beside her. "So, did you find Magma's hideout?" She asked. In a moment the cute, furry raccoon Pokemon started diffusing into a more gas-like form, the smoke starting to resemble an outline like a witch. The specter sadly shook its head.

"I see..." Shirin raised an empty Pokeball too its face. "Return, Mari." The Mismagius did as it was told. "The hideout isn't here? Damn, I got tipped off wrong." She opened her handheld navigator and looked at the news.

TEAM AQUA SIGHTED ON LILYCOVE!

"Sigh..." Shirin shut down her terminal after seeing that announcement. "Why is it always Team Aqua who is featured on the news?" Suddenly an idea popped into her mind. "Maybe I can break into their hideout and access their database. If they really are rivals like how people peg them to be, surely they have been keeping tabs on each other." She sent out Kanshou and rode it all the way to Lilycove.

Shirin had arrived in Lilycove after a few more minutes of flying. She didn't call back Kanshou at first and had him circle the surrounding terrain, the sandstorm the dragon created concealing its form. When it came back, it pointed its snout towards a suspicious rock formation by the sea.

"The sea...seeing it again makes me sick. Oh, the irony."
Shirin sighed as she also loathed that which her sworn enemies detest. She headed out into the beach, the breeze disturbing the hem of her coat. "If I loved the sea as well, I could have considered joining Aqua. No way that is happening now..." She muttered under her breath as she stepped onto shallow water. She noticed a slight movement near the base, indicating that someone was also trying to infiltrate the base.

"Is that a Magma member? Maybe not, but I don't intend to enter like that for this time." She raised a Pokeball and hurled it, releasing a gigantic fanged monster into the sea, throwing the tranquility into complete chaos. In an instant, Gilgamesh started rampaging around the place, attacking Aqua members that were training their Wailmers.

"Just draw as much attention as you can, while I settle my business." She instructed her Gyarados. "If it becomes too dangerous, cut a path with your beams and escape to the far side of the island." She left, riding Kanshou and dropping down on top of the base. She stared at the person, who was now visible from her altitude, also trying to get in. "I'm not planning on getting into the water, that's for sure." She said as she slid unto an air hatch and went out, emerging on top of a pile of crates.

"Now then, where is their computer database?" She surveyed the network of corridors inside. She could hear the other members running around, moving out to intercept the Gyarados outside. Shirin drew her sword and headed down the first corridor she saw.

Dharc looked up and blinked. "Whoops." Shinx tilted its head at him again. Dharc had spotted something like the shadow of a Flygon flying overhead, and this interested him for some reason. "Looks like you and me are flying again, buddy. Raze!" He threw out Raze's Pokeball again and the dragon reappeared in a flash of light.

"Head to Lilycove. I heard some trainers talking about Team Aqua in there or something, and that Flygon seems a bit out of place in a town like Fallarbor." The black-haired wanderer quickly picked up Shinx while instructing his Salamence where to go, and quickly jumped on the broad back of the dragon. Raze let out a roar before spreading his red wings and flying.

By the time they got to Lilycove, Dharc looked down from the sky. Down in the sea, he saw a lone Gyarados fighting against a large number of Wailmers. "Strange. There's a Gyarados, but there's no Trainer in sight." He narrowed his eyes at this. "Ah well, for the hell of it, why don't I try providing back-up?"

"Tentacruel, do your job. If you can't take the heat, retreat, you hear me?" He tossed a Pokeball and the huge, monstrous jellyfish hit the water with a splash, before it wrapped its tentacles around one of the boats and dragged it down, before grabbing another one and turning it over.

Dharc watched for a while from above before he saw a strange rock formation in the sea. "Huh. That's the rumored base? And I thought it would be something more cleverly disguised. Oh well." He sighed. "Speaking of, Team Aqua's after Kyogre, right? So I guess they've got information on it or something...."

He smirked before instructing Raze to land.

"This may be interesting."

"It's become more quiet now..." Shirin was waiting for the data extraction to finish. She had reached the computer terminal and downloaded all the information she could find regarding Team Magma. She had sent her Gyarados outside to draw out attention but now it seemed the commotion within the base was dying down.

"And, it's...complete." As soon as the computer had notified her that the data transfer is complete, she jacked out the data terminal and retraced her steps back to where she entered. As she was heading out back into the air vent, she accidentally dropped a crate spilling over its contents. Something glimmered that caught her eye: It was a pair of katars. "Well, it wouldn't do any good just lying there..." she thought as she took them. They were small enough to fit into the pocket of her coat so she hid them there. Moving on, she headed outside.

Outside, the water has calmed down a bit. Aqua members were assisting each other as they try to get on their turned over boats. She saw that her Gyarados was no longer there. "It probably retreated already." She took out Kanshou's Pokeball and was about to exit when she spotted someone on the rock formations. He was sitting there, with a Shinx on his side.

Shirin drew her sword and went closer to investigate. He didn't seem to be an Aqua member nor was he a Magma member yet something about him seemed odd. "This guy, he seems out of place here."

Dharc got off Raze and watched Tentacruel for a while. Besides, it looked hard enough for him to get in without being detected. "Well I'm not a spy or something." He shrugged. After a while, Tentacruel got tired and even a bit weaker, and he retreated immediately. Now the Aqua members were trying to get back on their boats- which Tentacruel turned over- and out of the water.

"Huh. Wonder how they can still persist on training those Wailmers." He scratched the back of his head, closing an eye. Shinx, on the other hand, had crawled out of Dharc's coat. The blue puppy looking Pokemon blinked and saw a sudden movement. Suddenly he started pawing at Dharc's arm frantically.

"Haa..... so strange how they're trying to expand the seas and right now they--Shinx, what is it?!" Dharc looked at the Pokemon. Shinx motioned with its head to a girl that was approaching. With a sword. A dangerous looking sword.

A wave of cautiousness washed over him and he dropped his staff and reached for his batons, which were hidden under his cloak.

Then he squinted, trying hard to see who the girl was. "Oh, it's that girl who I told about Magma having an operation or a base at Fallarbor...." Then he gulped.

"Shinx, is it just me or is she coming this way.....?"

As Shirin drew closer to that suspicious person, she realized that it was the same guy who tipped her that Team Magma was in Fallarbor. Because of that, she passed out along the road and nearly got eaten by a bunch of Skarmory. She wasted no time in heading to his location. Never mind that he has a Shinx by his side, she could easily call out one of her own to counter it. Besides, she felt that she has an obligation to settle this herself.

She swung her rapier at him, hitting his defensive arsenals right in the center. "He's quite skilled..." she silently commented his adversary's efficiency in wielding those weapons. She slid her blade around and closed in until their faces are only a few inches apart.

"You." She was desperately trying to maintain her composure in front of him. "You tricked me good, didn't you?"

Dharc swung up his batons as the rapier nearly hit him. "I swear! They WERE there! THEY WERE!" His voice was cracking. This girl, she wasn't some pushover. They were a few inches apart and that made him even more nervous- Not that he was in front of a girl, the opposite gender, but that she had this VERY dark aura.

"Team Magma was there! They were! Didn't you see the Camerupts!?" He spoke, half-rushing his words. Even Shinx, who usually barked at Trainers who would insult his Trainer though he was small, cowered back, shaking on his feet. Dharc jumped back, luckily landing on two feet.

"I haven't done anything wrong! I saw them there, and don't you think that Camerupts seem out of place in Fallarbor!?"

Shirin's rapier slid of as her adversary jumped back, making her hands lose their grip on it, sending it plummeting into the rocks below.

"Liar! The Camerupts were there but the base isn't, how's that?!" Unfazed by the weapon's loss, she continued to lunge forward, landing near her opponent. "Give back the fee I paid you! You deceiving, arrogant fraud!" Shirin drew out her newly acquired katars and with a forward stroke, managed to find its mark on her opponent's cloak, tearing a little cloth and maybe some flesh from his side. Not even waiting for him to react, she sent a kick to the boy's waist.

Dharc let out a yelp as the katar DID tear a little flesh from his side. Gritting his teeth, her leg hit his waist and he fell back, crashing against some rocks. "This is why I hate taking clients that get irritated a lot." He muttered under his breath. He lunged at her and swung his batons, hitting his opponent in her right arm.

"Sorry, I don't do refunds!" He yelled, jabbing the other baton into her stomach area and pushing her back as a result. As much as he wanted to call out Zaber or Kuro or anyone in his team to deal with her, he was pretty sure she had some Pokemon to fight back. Plus he'd get called more names so he decided not to.

"Damn, she's good." He thought to himself, staring at his opponent with narrowed, dark eyes.

The force of the blow had done its job. As Shirin backs up as the resulting force knocked her back. She coughed up some blood that she caught in her hands. "I cannot continue this any further..." Realizing that there is no way for her to keep on fighting as she is right now and by extension, her money back, she decided to not endanger her life any further. It changed though when she saw the looks on his eyes.

"I'm saving my skin but I won't be the first deserter here..." She snapped her fingers and in an instant, Kanshou came descending from the skies, parting the clouds with his speed. She had sent it out earlier to patrol the skies while she was stealing from the Aqua base. With a swipe from her hand, the dragon breathed out a blast of flame that hit all nearby surroundings as the dragon swung its head all around the environment. The flames hit the water where Aqua grunts are still trying to regain their footing, it hit the roof of the Aqua base and of course, the rock formation that the bastard was standing on, sending rock and "debris" crashing into the sea below.

After the arson was complete, Shirin picked up her rapier and leaned in over the edge of whatever's left of the rock formation. "Rest in the waves, you thieving cat..." She looked at the damage that had been done. Judging by the magnitude of Kanshou's attack, there was no way Aqua would take this lying down. "We wouldn't want to be seen here so do what you usually do, Kanshou." She gave a cold order to her dragon which soon started enveloping them in sand, hiding their form from naked eyes. Before flying off, Shirin took out the data disk containing the information she looted. "I guess I should cut him some slack. I have this after all. Not only does it say something about Magma but also about some "leviathan" hiding beneath the waves whom ancients refer to as "Master of the Seas"." She murmured under her breath as they took off.

"Oh, we have to get Gilgamesh too." She decided to take a quick stopover near the Lilycove Department Store." To her, Pokemon are just tools but she wasn't someone who doesn't appreciate the value of things.

"WHOA!" Dharc grabbed Shinx and his staff and jumped into the water as the girl ordered her Flygon to breathe flames on the surrounding areas, and the rock formation that once hid the base of Team Aqua. As he plummeted into the cold water below, Shinx slightly squirmed in his grip. He managed to get both their heads above the water and breathing deeply, he started to swim to shore.

Upon touching dry land he looked over at his wound. Blood was seeping through his shirt and cloak, staining them both a crimson red color. "Ack....bandages, bandages, we need bandages...." He muttered. Shinx was shaking the water out of his already blue fur. Water dripped from his wet black hair. "The department store should have that..."

When he got there, he immediately started searching the floors for medical supplies. Shinx was also looking around though he stayed at his trainer's side. Suddenly, the puppy-looking Pokemon spotted something and he immediately started pawing at Dharc's leg again. "What is it Shinx? Did you find the band-" Then he stopped.

"Oh crap. It's her again.

Shirin had just finished retrieving Gilgamesh from the place she instructed him to return to. She was pretty confident that no Aqua member had spotted her during her solo raid at the place. Just to be sure, she sent out Mari to watch her back as she enters the Lilycove Department Store to rest for a bit. Mari obeyed her trainer and used its powers to make itself appear human.

Inside, Shirin checked the bruises she got from entering the base and from her battle with that black wanderer. She decided that it was best to head on to the second floor, where the medical supplies are. As she was entering the elevator, she suddenly had a vision. Unable to fully see it, all she could make out was an old book being raised to her face. "What was that all about?" She wondered about it.

Once she reached the medical shelves, she saw a familiar figure looking at her. That smug look on his face and the Shinx pawing at his leg could only be the same person who she fought on the jagged rocks of the Aqua base. The same person who tipped her off about Magma's whereabouts. The same person who owe her some cash. She headed straight to his direction. "So you survived after all." Her hand made its way on her cloak, clutching the katar that was hidden there. "I suggest you give back what you owe me now. You have no escape after all..." She motioned for Mari, who was disguised as a saleslady, to guard this person's back.

Even in this mall, a public place, Shirin is prepared to let all hell loose, just to satisfy herself.

Sweat rolled down his brow. 'Great. Just great, Dharc. You just got yourself an entire year of death.' He thought glumly. "I-I am going to say right now that I am innocent." He muttered, loud enough for the other to hear. He pulled out an old-looking book and raised it to her face. "THAT GUY! IT WAS THAT SELLER'S FAULT!" He yelled this time, not caring if the other people in the mall heard him.

Shinx stared at his trainer with a face that said, "Seriously?" "I was going to give your money back if you asked for it! But that guy just....had it on sale, and--!!" He kept breaking off. He was pretty sure the saleslady behind him was working with her, too. Because when he looked from the corner of his eye he had the strangest feeling that it was actually a Mismagius disguising as a human.

"-PLEASE FORGIVE ME!" He bowed, nearly hitting his forehead on the book if he had not lowered it.

"So that's what that vision was about..." Shirin looked at the book that this annoying guy raised to her face. It looked ancient, probably written a long long time ago when mankind was still a fresh new civilization.

"You better find a way to pay me back--" Before Shirin could finish her sentence, she felt her vision slowly fading, her grip on her blade loosening. She clutched her forehead, her senses buzzing and losing control. She was starting to lose grip of reality. She felt her legs weaken until they could no longer support her weight.

"No, not now. not here..." She fainted, the stress of the infiltration and the battle taking their toll on her still recovering body.

A wave of worry washed over Dharc- he didn't know why, it just came- when he saw the girl clutching her forehead and falling over. She fainted. "WH- H-Hey!" He yelled, and by reflex he threw the book down and quickly caught her, Shinx running over worriedly to him.

By now, when the girl had fainted, people looked over at them. Dharc threw his cloak around the girl. "Sorry about my friend. She just faints a lot." He managed nervously. "I suggest you bring her to the inn." A man commented. Dharc sighed. "Looks like my bandages are gonna have to wait. C'mon, Shinx." Carrying the girl bridal style, he started off for the elevator and as soon as he was out of the mall, he started heading for the inn.

He tried to manage carrying the girl with one hand he knocked with the other, sliding his hand back into position soon after. The innkeeper opened the door and stared at him. "Yes?" "We need help, quick." The man nodded. "Bring her here." After he had set down the girl and rested his arms, the keeper looked at him. "By the way, young man, that's a pretty nasty wound." Dharc looked over at his bleeding side. "Oh, this..." Well, he didn't want to reveal that the one who caused that was the one he brought in, so.. "I scratched it on a tree earlier." He lied, hoping that the man would believe him.

"You better thank me..." he thought.

Shirin gradually opened her eyes. She felt the warm breeze of the ocean wash over her body. Combined with the early morning sun, and the slow whirring of the electric fan, it was very relaxing and soothing. She slowly stood up and walked over to the window, looking at the sun slowly rising. She turned to face the direction where the Aqua base stood in ruins. "The water is much more calmer now." It seems only yesterday that she and that total stranger lying on the bed adjacent hers had caused quite some damage, stirring up waves and burning parts of the hideout.

"How long was I out?" She glanced at the wall clock and saw that it was only 6:30 in the morning. She got dressed and was about to head to the living room when she glanced at the sleeping form of the stranger who brought her there. "Was this his idea of paying me back?" She wondered about this development while staring down at him. "He looks so peaceful and gentle when he is asleep..." She thought. She watched him turn and toss around his bed, mumbling some kind of words that she doesn't understand. Shirin's brows furrowed slightly at this. "His snores are very annoying though." She stormed out the room afterwards.

Down at the living room, the innkeeper served her breakfast as she sat down. It was some kind of local salad. She was asked if she was feeling better now and gave her some pills for the headache. She gladly accepted, giving him some spare change as an appreciative gesture. After finishing her meal, she checked out the data file she stole from the Aqua base inside the computer in their room.

"Interesting. According to this, Magma is scheduled to have a large scale operation in stealing some rocket fuel at the Mossdeep Space Center. Nearly a quarter of the entire Magma fighting force would go there." Shirin smiled to herself. "Perfect. If everything goes well, I can annihilate that much, making them lose some much needed leverage." Shirin then stopped to think for a bit. "Though that would give Aqua some sort of edge in the future...Whatever. My beefs with Magma alone." She scanned the other files for a bit. That was where she read more about the "leviathan" at the bottom of the sea. "The Sea Basin Pokemon Kyogre. This is the creature that Aqua is planning to expand the sea?" She arranged all of her Pokemon in front of her. "A quarter of Magma's fighting force... would you be able to take them all on?" She inspected her party. "Or maybe..." She glanced at the sleeping form of the black wanderer.

"There is no way I would be able to take all of them alone. No matter how unreliable he seems, I'm sure he can put up with a fight." Shirin shook the sleeping wanderer awake by hitting his head with the book he bought. Once she was sure she had his attention, she explained her discovery to him, without leaving any detail. "If you can't compensate me financially, then pay me back by assisting me in this mission." Shirin's eyes were dead serious. Especially now that her revenge is only one ferry ride away.

Dharc didn't notice that he had fallen asleep as time passed. He only realized when something heavy hit him on the head, tearing him away from his dream of Zaber, Kuro and Soul fighting the Elite Four altogether. Groaning he sat up. "Alright! I'm awake! What do you want?!" He snapped, rubbing the spot on his head where he was hit by his own book. After a lengthy explanation from the girl- he only got interested when she got to the part about Kyogre-, he arched an eyebrow.

"Lemme get this straight. Since I can't pay you back with money I just have to help you out on a mission, right?" He grinned. "Seems alright to me. Anyway, since we'll be working together, let me introduce myself." He extended a firm hand. "Just call me Dharc. And you?"

"Does it matter?" Shirin gave him a steel cold stare. "Well, whatever. My name is Shirin. Hisui Shirin." She took his hand and slightly shook it, retracting her own after a couple of seconds. "Well, we'll need to catch a ferry to Mossdeep City, a few miles off this mainland." Shirin took all of her stuff, including her weapons and set outside, leading the black wanderer around.

They reached the harbor and learned that the next ferry won't be arriving until after an hour so she just sat down on the crags while drawing figures on the sand. "Oh, and guess what? You're paying for the tickets."
