Mark had woken up early to go out and explore. He'd arrived at Manhatten only the day before, and didn't waste any time sleeping. He walked down a small passage, or an alley if you will. Polluted, oily water dropped from rooftops onto the cracked ground below Marks feet. He walked with his guard up, holding his pistol firmly in his hands. He wouldn't use it unless he REALLY had to. He was lucky as hell to have any ammo at all.
He swept passed the mossy bricks walls on each side of him and glanced around leaving the exit of the passage. 'Theres a large store around here, I know it. If I remember my map correctly anyways' he thought.
On the way to New York he had a map to study. Unfortunately he lost it in a fight. But he was still standing, so the map was well lost. He took a right and walked slowly to the store, only small noises came from his feet. He didn't want to move quickly, or he'd be seen easily through the fog. Its best to move slowly when you don't want to be detected by anything.

Frankie was leaving the apartment complex when a huge gust of wind caught him off guard. "Where did that come from?" Shrugging it off, Frankie continued to head forward. After walking for a while Frankie came across a small cluster of gated buildings. He wasn't sure whether he had scouted this area before so he had no idea what to expect around here.

About an hour had passed and he didn't notice anything. He decides to continue working on the last few buildings that where down the street more, and he found an opened gate. Frankie approached the area and it looked as if it had been recently moved."What the hell?" he says. Looking down he saw a bent pry bar that was probably used to open the lock."I wonder if anyone's in here."Feeling hopeful, Frankie entered the building.

Frankie was nearing the back of the store when he heard a voice. A deep voice coming from behind him. Turning around he saw this guy. A guy covering half his face with arrows poking from behind him. "It's likely nothing back there, the only people in here are us two, this place has been abandoned for years." The guy had said. "I'm Schuit." He introduced himself. Well this is odd. I wonder how long he's been watching me. He thought as he stared at the guy for a while deciding if he should fight him or not. He looked ready to fight, seeing his hand was near his sword. He's probably the only guy I'll encounter for a while, so I'll play nice. Taking a final look at the guy, Frankie decided to speak up."Hey man. I'm Frankie," He started as he leaned on one of the counters."Nice to meet you Schuit. So, have you been spying on me?" He asked.

[Sorry I haven't been posting, RPG has been fucking with me and not letting me on -_-]

Mark walked the misty streets silently. He came across the gated area. 'That looks like a lot of noise' he thought to himself.
He didn't really want to risk moving all the gates and creating lots of noise. 'Maybe Ill just take a stroll around this little area... make sure there isn't anyone here before I go pushing gates around' Mark thought and nodded to himself. He resumed his walking, just strolling around the area. Some of the gates were open, those were stores he inspected. But not for very long.
He came across another shop with its gates open; an antique shop. 'What business would I have going in THAT?' Mark thought. 'There wouldn't be any food in there, I don't need to steal anything for money'
Mark decided he would stick around this shop though. He sat in front of the antique shop, and went through his backpack.
He thought he heard something inside the antique shop but, didn't take any mind to it.

{Same here, I think its just an over all issue with the site from all the traffic. Its ticking me off though. Sorry if the tags are all messed up or not there at all, along with it taking like a billion hours to post this I'm also dealing with error 502 every few minutes. UGH}

Kate considers herself lucky when the noise dies down and she's left once more in the silence and the fog. Nothing beside the sound of her shoes clicking against the pavement and her own breathing to fill the void. She edges closer to a clustering of gated shops. She only walks a few steps further before her senses kick in to tell her something is slightly off. She peers ahead of her through the mist and notices a human shape. Far enough she can't make out the persons features but still close enough that she has no time time to mask her presence. She wonders if he was the source of the noise.

'Just my luck,' and it certainly is just her luck, to find another person here who may or may not be dangerous to her. Out of the fire and into the frying pan as they say. But Kate has speed on her side if the person tries anything, and it wouldn't hurt to figure out some sense of this place. She doesn't bother with hiding her presence, there's no use in it when she doesn't have the time.

Kate narrows her eyes as she approaches, wiping away the gathering sweat on her forehead. She considers running, knows its what she should be doing. She certainly won't give this person the benefit of the doubt either. Kate keeps her knife handy as she edges closer. As she gets within a comfortable speaking distance she stops, far enough that if she did decide she needed to run she would have a good start. "You friendly?" Kate snorts, a mildly aggressive edge to her tone. Her knife is hanging loosely in her hand, but within sight - a silent threat that if the man tries anything stupid he'll regret it.

'That whole response sounded bipolar...' Mark thought. "Yeah you to" he rolled his eyes, now trying to listen what was inside the shop again. 'Hope we weren't too loud. She probably made me noticeable though. Maybe I should split....' Mark thought. He glanced at her, then back at the antique shops doors.
"Hey um, woman. I don't know your name but, did you see anyone while you happened to be 'passing through'?" Mark asked looking back over at her.

Kate almost missed his question in her haste to get away. She didn't think he would continue talking to her, not many did - though that partially happened to be because of her extreme lack of social graces. She half turned and shrugged, shoving her hands in her pockets. The picture of nonchalance. "Nah, haven't seen anyone in some time now. Well, besides you. But then again not many people are fond of idle chat these days now are they?" She say, turning fully. "But I suspect theres a reason you ask?" She says, an unsure question dancing at the tip of her tongue. Kate wants to ask if there's anyone dangerous around here. She isn't exactly a stranger to bandits or...worse, but she doesn't want to tangle with them later on if they are here.

"No they aren't" he said softly, thinking. "I was just wondering" he continued. "I heard voices in there" he nudged his head towards the entrance of the antique shop. "If it was two people talking, which Im positive it was, I would've run into three people today. Three is a lot. I just wanna be on my game, maybe theres more around here than I thought" he had a bit of bite in his voice. He didn't like the thought of so many possible hostile people in one area. "Thanks for the info though..." he said softly nodding to himself. "I guess it helps" he sighed quietly under his breathe.

"Its a big place, and it isn't like we are the only ones left in the world," Kate says with a shrug, "But if I were you I wouldn't be sitting and waiting for potential threats to just show up." She sighs in sudden irritation, "I suppose this means I've made a bad decision coming here, sometimes I forget theres still people out there." Of course, there is no decision made without consequences. Kate can't understand how people group into one place without realizing it. She only came here because she was tired of small towns and cities that barely have enough to sustain life. She's been around those places too often and more horrifyingly found communities within some. Even though not everyone is someone to be feared Kate fears groups most of all. "Would you mind...err..Should I stay? In case they come out guns blazing. I mean, If I'm to stay here I think a little heads up on danger is good." Kate isn't quite sure of why she's asking at all, besides not wanting to offend him somehow and get shot or something stupid like that. 'I just need to know if there are threats here,' She thinks to herself 'This is the easiest way.' Besides that she isn't quite sure where she is supposed to go from here, finding a safe place to stay is going to be a tough thing to tackle and she would rather put it off if she can.

Before Schuit could answer, Frankie had heard a few voices outside the shop."Hey don't speak," Frankie shushed."I think there's people outside the shop. They don't look threatening." Deducing from the two people standing outside, they seemed interested in entering the shop. Meaning that sooner or later they would have to meet regardless of what Frankie would do."Hey, I'm going to go introduce myself to them alright? You can come with me, or you can do you, either way it was nice to meet you." Taking a few breaths, Frankie opened the door to the shop, triggering the sound of the rusted bell on the door. That got their attention.

Mark quickly got on his guard and placed his hand on his gun, pivoting quickly to the door.
He glared at Frankie, analyzing him quickly. "Who are you is there another person in the shop and are you hostile?"
Mark asked three questions at once, and sternly. He made his point very clearly.
"If you want to fight I am prepared to blow your brains out or hit you until you cant see or comprehend anything anymore"
Mark added with his jaw flexed. He wasn't trying to be authoritarian in any way, he just wanted to make it clear: he didn't mess around and wasn't looking to hurt anyone.... for now.
He glanced back at the girl. "You either stay or you go. What makes you think I care?" he said slightly softer, then turned his attention back on the man who had walked through the door.

Kate startles, grabbing her knife quickly and baring her teeth. Like a defensive animal, she realizes thats exactly how she looks. She looks between the two, hardly listening to the man. She lets out a low, humorless laugh. "Wasn't really asking permission, not very good at reading between the lines huh?" She grits out, watching both of them closely she doesn't quite like the way that the man has flipped the switch from hostile to soft so easily. It makes her nervous. "This is getting far too crowded for my tastes." She doesn't want to take her eyes off of the people, but she doesn't want to stay either. The hostility of the situation is making her anxious, the hair on the back of her neck standing up. She feels too exposed now, out in the open. "You seem to have this situation covered," She says more quietly, her nervousness showing plainly, closing her eyes for a split second to keep the edge out of her voice.

Then, she turns and runs. Quicker than she can remember having run before. And once she finds herself a good ways away she stops to catch her breath, fading into the shadows once more.

{Gotta go for a while, didn't want to leave while an interaction is starting up so I'll just have Kate leave for now.}

Mark pays no attention to the girl and keeps his eyes on the man. "Hm?" he added, pressing on for an answer.
He still had his hand locked tight on his gun, ready to pull out if the man wanted to try anything.

Walking out of the door was possibly a bad idea, especially because the man seemed strongly on the defensive. Not wasting an opportunity, Frankie drew his hammer from his back, covering his front side in case the man decided to shoot him anyway. The hammer may be bulky, but the amount of damage it can inflict when made contact is phenomenal; it made for a killer defense for a one on one. Frankie wasn't very worried, and seeing as he wanted no harm, it was easy for him to keep his cool and answer the man's questions."Hey man chill. My name is Frankie, and no I'm not alone. I just met someone in there and I'm not sure if he's coming out anytime soon. I wouldn't worry about him too much though, he's nice!" Answering the man was easy. Making sure he dropped his weapon was a little difficult."As for your final question, no I'm not hostile. I can be however if you don't drop your weapon. I'm not really looking for a fight, I'm just looking for people to see what's going on around here." Answering truthfully, Frankie wasn't really worried. He propped his hammer on his back again to show the man that he meant what he had said."Now it's my turn to ask a few questions," Frankie started wanting to know more about this man."First, who are you and what brings you here? Two, who was that woman? Was she with you? Three, is there more of you out here?" Frankie fired out this questions in the hopes that the man would be kind enought to answer.

Mark sighed and pulled his hand away from his back pocket. He held both his hands up for a brief moment, then dropped them both down at his sides. "My name is Mark, Im here to try and find food; what Im running low on. I don't know who that woman was, we just met, she's not with me, I have nothing to do with her. I haven't met anyone else out here beside you and that girl"
Mark answered all the questions simply. "Its good to meet you" he sighed sticking out his hand. "Or, good to meet another person who doesnt want to murder my ass on the spot." Mark sighed.

[lol sorry, I tried posting from work but it fucking logged off on me when I pressed submit, so now I'm posting! Sorry Mileenazel!]

Frankie eyed the guy for a bit longer before he sighed of relief. He was glad that Mark wasn't out to kill him for food. Unlike some previous encounters in the past, it sure is nice to meet someone who is on the same page as Frankie."Well Mark, it's sure is nice to meet you too. And don't worry Mark, I'm not one to kill someone just like that, so I hope that we can work together for a while." Frankie sighed as he turned his head around to look back at the antique shop."As for the food, I'm not so sure you'll find anything edible in there. It's all brittle artifacts. Nothing useful, trust me." Frankie explained to Mark as he faced him again.

[Its ok Footless, Ive had that happen before, no worries. :)]

Mark nodded and pulled his hand back, sliding both of them into his pockets. "I figured so, I just got a little defensive when I heard noises in there" Mark nudged his head towards the door. "Sadly you always need to be on your toes now, its hard to tell who will wanna kill you on the spot, or who will be willing to actually talk.... or who will be trigger happy" Mark rolled his eyes.
He's had plenty encounters with trigger happy people, and has gotten in many 'fight to the deaths' with them as well.

Seeing as everything was happening pretty well, Frankie began to loosen up a little more. Mark seemed like he was no threat to him at all, which was nice."Alright Mark, since we're here now, why don't we go see if we can find some food somewhere else. I'm starting to get pretty hungry too, and I'm not sure how long I can last without it" Frankie said snickering as he looked back at the antique shop one more time. He wondered were Schuit was. If he still was in the Antique shop watching, spying on Frankie again. Or if he had managed to sneak out from the back of the building. No matter, Frankie had a feeling they'll meet again. Frankie focused his attention back on Mark."Perhaps you would want to lea the way? I haven't found much luck with this city. It may be barren, but even a trained eye would have difficulty locating anything around here now."
