Karate instructor, former hero, and potential Red Dragon Ranger
He is intensely respectful, and promotes balance and moderation. He is very reserved, however, and only confides in his longtime mentor, Tao of Tao's Dojo, in anything that may trouble him. Above all, he finds himself lonely and perplexed as to his place in life; he often feels confused and unsatisfied, but mostly haunted by the ghosts of the past.
Nothing out of the ordinary, except a chromed 1911 handgun kept for personal defense.
Ryan was a little boy when his father mysteriously went missing. He often spent time at the temple where he and his father practiced martial arts, hoping for the day he would see his father again. The temple was said to be powerful, it always helped to deepen Tyler's thoughts and open his mind. Little did Ryan know he was closer than he thought. Ryan's father worked with the Professor Hart in a secret lab experimenting in virtual reality and developing powers and weapons for a new generation of heroes known as VR Troopers. When finding out this information, Ryan was determined in fighting Grimlord to reunite himself with his father, and when the Troopers detected one of Grimlord's warriors had human DNA, Ryan was sure he was his father.
After a lengthy exchange between Grimlord and the Troopers, Ryan was finally reunited with his father, and began setting the stage for Grimlord's last stand in the virtual realm. The price to end the conflict, however, was larger than Ryan could have imagined: not only were the other Troopers, JB Reese and Kaitlin Star, killed in battle, but the Trooper technology was rendered useless due to the collapse of Grimlord's virtual world.
Ryan spent the next 15 years racked with guilt and tried to combat it through heavy drinking, but found solace after his father died, realizing that life was indeed short and he had to take every opportunity that life offered him. He went back to teaching at the Tao Dojo, where he has placed himself in a sort of self-exile ever since.
