A member of Mythos, who has spent the last year adapting to society, and hoping they forgot about him.
Jack plays the role of the college party kid, the tortured artist, and the deceptively smart lay-about very well, layering his persona so thoroughly that few see through it. Yet his smiles never touch his eyes, he never cries, no real emotion is ever present on his face. This is because all he can really feel is a boiling ocean of pain, fear, sorrow, and rage. Scarred by his horrid childhood, he has developed a defense mechanism of being who people want him too, playing the role perfectly, and always remaining detached. He is also literally crazy, hearing voices that are not there, and even having visual halucinations on a regular basis. Some of this is from his chronic insmonia, and massive sleep deprivation, but it has roots in deep psychological scars, and he is by no means mentally fit. He uses drugs to dull his mind constantly, and further distance himself from reality, yet in the end many of the drugs he uses only compound the problems he deals with, namely crippling depression, derealization, depersonalization, and schizophrenic delusions.
Molecular Vibration: Jack can speed up and slow down things on a molecular level. They trained him to use this primarily for:
-Enhanced Speed: While he can enhance his speed greatly, if he goes to fast he can not only lose control, as his reaction time, while trained to peak human capacity, is still within human realms, but if he goes to fast, he can literally tear his body apart, atom by atom.
-Phasing: Discovered from his enhanced speed testing, he was later trained to vibrate his molecules so fast that he can pass through solid matter, reducing the dangers of his enhanced speed, as a sort of safety net.
-Flight: Discoverd through training his phasing, while in such a state he can move through the air at high speeds, manipulating himself and the air to literally ride the wind.
-Increased strength/durability: He can reduce damage to himself by absorbing the impact, slowing and dispersing its effect at a molecular level. This, when combined with his enhanced speed, was found to allow him to strike with great force, though his ability to lift weight remained the same.
-Resonant Frequency: By causing his hand to resonate at the same frequency as an object, he was able to disintegrate matter at molecular level, seperating a stone wall into a pile of sand in one case. He was later trained to use this to increase or decrease the molecular vibration of objects to either explode or rapidly decay.
Jack is undeniably powerful, having been trained to find uses, and in said uses, of his abilities for his entire life. He was also trained in armed and unarmed combat, and stealth manuevers. He always managed to perform well in tests, so as to satisfy his torturers, and make his life easier, but the damage to mental state is so great that his abilities, and their added level of seperation from reality, only make his mental condition worse. When he uses them, his halucinations tend to become much more intense, often turning his life into a mindbending trip, which can be a bit difficult when in a dangerous situation.
Jackson can remember nothing before Olympia. He does not remember his family at all, his earliest memory being of the testing that gave him his abilities. While in the project he was trained in many areas, and experimented on like a lab rat, so that when he integrated back into society he had no comprehension of a 'normal' life. He joined Mythos because he didn't know what else to do, and he figured that he could always re-evaluate whenever they came around to knocking. Until then he couldn't afford to turn their help away, and has been 'attending' community college, and living in a crappy apartment.
