HISTORY
General History: "I was born....actually, I'm not sure where I was born. I remember a house in the country. It was a beautiful place. My parents were farmers I think. No, maybe they just owned a lot of land. You'll have to forgive me, but I don't remember much from that time. It was so long ago it's almost a blur. Everything except the picture of that house. I was taken from my home at the age of five by men encased in black. They were probably just wearing suits, but it didn't seem like it at the time. It was like I was swallowed by the darkness. In a way, I was. You see, I wasn't born blind. No, that was taken from me by them. I still remember what that place looked like. When I could still see. It was cold and damp in the cells they put us in. Seemed to only feed us just enough to keep us alive. Aside from sleep and meals it was testing. Day in and day out. The experiments never stopped. Some weren't so bad. Others......others were horrible. I lost my sight when I was seven. One of the experiments went wrong and destroyed the lens in my eyes. Heh, not only did they take my sight, but I'd have to shade my eyes for the rest of my life. It was soon after that I developed my abilities. Maybe it was my body compensating for the loss of my sight. I don't know, but suddenly I could see again. No, not like you see. I could see with my feet. Through the ground.
After my abilities manifested the experiments increased. They wanted to see how far I could push them, what all I could do, if they could give me more power. I seemed to have a connection to the Earth. Like sharing energy. Not only could I sense things in contact with the ground with my feet, but I could even move the Earth itself. Like bending it to my will. The experiments continued for years afterwords. Then, like a dream, it all ended. The project went under and we were rescued. In the end our saviors gave use two choices. One, join them and receive a free ride to a new life, or decline their offer and be dumped back into the gutter. I took the latter option. I'm in a group they call neutrals. Those who chose the hard way out and wanted their freedom back. In hindsight maybe I should have taken their offer, but I was tired of being used. Not that I don't see plenty of recruiters seeking to change my mind. I think we all were. Some went with them because they felt they were getting some power back, but I could tell it wasn't going to be that easy. Nothing in this world is free. Everything, comes with a price. That brings us to present day. I've made a living through gambling and UFC fighting. You might call using my abilities as cheating. I call it being Handy-Capable. No I hit them with rocks or anything. I just use the sight I have to my advantage. Not to mention I've found being blind has other advantages. They say it enhances the other four senses to superhuman ability. I can't say their wrong. Though sometimes I still think that my sight was a high price to pay for what I have now. Well, that's my life story. I think I've said enough for now. No, I don't want your sympathy, but I hope you'll understand."
