Personality:
Kylar is often a very negative person, according to some people. He often finds faults in people, and himself as well, always striving to do better than everyone else. Due to this, he happens to be very honest about almost everything. His history, his age, if he likes a person or not and how much. So he is very blunt, and may sound just rude if he's saying something bad. Kylar has a reason for every action, and is very cautious and careful, only rash when he is irritated or angry. He's usually quiet, but can be quite dramatic, and sarcastic when people make stupid comments.
Most people have some sort of trait that everyone likes, something that makes them like a superhero. But Kylar is real. He's harsh and cold, and very rarely shows emotions or thoughts in his expressions. His eyes are really the only thing that reveal what he is feeling at the time. Though they are a dark, coal black, you can see glints of happiness or sadness in them, though rarely. He sees emotions as a weakness, and being himself, doesn't like being below anyone else. He is very competitive, and always has to be first, or he isn't satisfied.
Despite seeming like a very rude person, he can be nice if you get on his good side. He just has an odd way of showing how he likes people. He can hold a grudge for a very long time, and his main goal is actually getting back to the mortal world, and getting revenge on his father. He has a twisted sense of humor though, and can find it amusing when people are hurt or in pain.
Power:
He has the ability to delve into someone's mind. But rather than reading their mind, he can actually overload it, causing them to have intense headaches, pain, brief and temporary memory loss, and even on rare occasions, loss of consciousness. But as a consequence, his own head will begin to hurt after, and it can sometimes backfire on him. He doesn't even have to be that close to a person. He just has to have them in sight, and focus on them. He goes into a sort of trance when he's in their mind.
Misery:
It was just a few days after his mother died from being shot by a robber. She had just been at the bank, when someone attempted a hold-up and pulled out a gun. She tried to get him to put the gun down, but she was shot. Their family mourned her death for just a few days. Their father seemed to have enough of life after that too, since they had been getting nothing but bad luck.
Their father called him and his sister into the car, saying that they were going to go for a drive. They suspected his father of nothing, and went with him. It was on that drive, on a cold rainy day, that he decided that he had enough of life, and his kids shouldn't have a chance to live either. He drove off the side of the road and into the ditch, where down the slope, was a river than ran underneath a bridge. He drove the car into the water, and it was then that Kylar drowned in the ice cold water, him and his sister dying. They were unable to get out of the vehicle, because the back doors were locked.
The father then realized that he wanted to survive, that he was too cowardly to die, and unlocked his front door, getting out. He claimed that it was an accident, since the roads were covered in water, which had frozen into a thin sheet of ice due to the cold air. There were no witnesses either. He lives on today, hardly feeling any remorse for what he did to his own children.
