The Permedes family crest is that of a lion, a proud noble house they are, one that has always been close to the royal family of Citha. Money and power has always been theirs for the taking, they’ve always been political climbers, but somehow the crown was always out of their reach. You see their methods had a history of being rather cutthroat, and as a result they were not trusted. That is until the birth of Diocles, only son and heir to the Permedes fortune. He managed to get the Permedes family right next to the crown without even trying, through a simple human act that was entirely without the careful plotting of schemes.
One evening at court his mother realized that Diocles had become rather close to Atticus D’ivore, crowned prince and sole heir to the Cithan throne. This startled her, and when she brought this news to her husband Diocles found himself being carefully watched by his parents. His lessons were doubled, and he was told that under no circumstances was he to lose the friendship of the crowned prince. Diocles found this all both preposterous and unnecessary, for he loved Atticus as his own brother, and had no intentions of losing his friendship.
