Akane Shinimoya's Story

Akane ran through the forest following the beautiful blue bird. At times she would trip and fall, but she would keep her tears in and run after the bird once more. For some reason, the bird always waits for her when she trips. Running once more, she followed the bird. She didn't know where she was going, but she swore she heard her mother's voice from that bird. Breathing very hard, the bird finally stopped. It rested at the lowest branch of a tree. Akane walked to the tree where the bird rested. Then, she saw the lake. It was beautiful. The waters gently splashing on the side of the lake, the light sparkling on the surface of the lake. It was sight to behold. Akane stared, enthralled. After a moment or two, Akane heard a small rustling of bushes, and spun around. There was a small peacock staring back at her. Akane walked slowly towards the bird. The bird only flicked his head around staring back at her. Akane slowly extended a hand and touched the top of it's head. It's head was soft, and warm. Akane cried. It was the first time in 12 years she felt that kind of warmth.
