It's not unusual for others to think that Yuino is much younger than he actually is, nor is it uncommon for him to be mistaken as the opposite sex by strangers who haven't heard his voice yet. The blame for these misconceptions mostly falls on his small body and feminine features. He's grown a couple inches and his voice has deepened slightly since he was younger, but unfortunately not much else has changed since he was sixteen. Though he's gained some muscle through years of training, he still looks rather slim and has a petite build, with his height bordering less-than-average depending on who he's standing next to.
Yuino's facial features may also make it difficult to determine his actual age, with rounded cheeks and a softly pointed chin that give him a very childish appearance. His large, round eyes are that of a deep sea blue, with undertones of bright purple mixed in that seem to brighten in the sunlight, nearly to the point where the dark blue that is visible in the shade is almost completely overtaken by indigo. His hair is a shiny black color, with a single lock that hangs a few inches lower than the rest that Yuino ties into a small braid whenever he goes out. His bright eyes and dark hair contrast well with the lightly tanned color of his skin.
Comfort and flexibility are most important over all when it comes to Yuino's choice in clothing. He prefers not to spend a whole lot of money, and often gets his clothes at thrift stores when they are having their sales. Of course it's perfectly rational not to want to spend a lot of money on clothes than are likely just going to get dirty, though he also secretly believes that he shouldn't spend too much money on clothes that he's going to grow out of soon. Kuro - During CCG missions, Yuino is instead called Kuro. He requested for this in order to keep his normal identity a secret from enemies. Most of CCG use this name for him instead of his real name.

Yuino's mask is a simple black airsoft mask that covers the bottom half of his face from his nose to his chin. He also wears a one-eyed goggle that he places over his left eye. The glass is tinted black and cannot be seen through on the outside. He wears the goggle as a way to give enemies the false assumption that he might possibly be one of those rumored and often feared "one-eyed ghouls".
- Kagune Type -
Taking after both his mother and his father, Yuino was born with two different RC cell types. As a result, he possesses what is called a chimera kagune, also referred to as a duel kagune, where he has a kakuhou in more than one place. This gives Yuino the ability to use two different kagune, which he can release simultaneously or separately. His two kagune are a bikaku and a koukaku.
His bikaku kagune has a simple structure consisting of two tails, with the tail on the right side ending in a claw-like shape that he can use to grabbing while the left tail end in a sharp pointed tip. He uses this kagune by itself much more frequently than he does his koukaku, as the bikaku is more flexible and helps with his balance.
The koukaku kagune that he possesses is somewhat more complicated looking. It has thick armored plates that overlap each other and cover the entirety of his left arm. Spikes jut out from the left side of his back that shape together in a way that resembles a flower. A single, thick layer of armor also lays over his right shoulder. He always uses his koukaku kagune along with the company of his bikaku.
