The Crimson Blade

The guild hall is never particularly busy, since most people were usually out fulfilling contracts, but the sounds of swords clinking in sparring matches, and the thwup of arrows striking a makeshift targets could be heard from the back room under the stairs through the morning hours into late afternoon. In the main area, the floorboards creaked under the weight of boots as they climbed the stairs to the rooms. In the armory to the left, a few members polished armor, sharpened blades or tried out new. Smells of roast meat and vegetables waft through the air from the mess hall as the cooks prepare dinner. When the doors to the mess hall officially opened, nearly all duties and sparring came to a halt, and everyone sat down in the hall to a hearty meal before heading to bed or elsewhere, had they other plans. By late evening, the sounds have died down, leaving the main hall quiet, almost deserted.
