Description
Name: Demyan Mikhailovitch Kavelin. āKavā.
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Appearance: How to describe Kav... Put nicely, the man looks like someone threw the offspring of a human and a shark into a wall. His nose is broken and mangled, his eyes seem cold despite his (true) smile which shows off wonky, uneven teeth - an orthodontistās nightmare. Despite being outdoors a lot, the manās skin is somewhere between āpaleā and āgreyā - the scars over his face add to the mottled effect. Heās tall at 6ā5ā and is built like a brick shithouse. At some point he had his septum pierced and the ring torn out, which adds to the horrific wonkiness of his hooked nose. It lines up nicely with another scar where it seemed a labret piercing was ripped away from his face. Despite his generally nice nature, Kavās looks make little children cry and old ladies cross the road to avoid him. He doesnāt really mind.
Eyes: Grey
Hair: A sort of mousey brown, short.
Other: Having worked in a tattoo studio in his youth, the man has a few ā his left shoulder has been tattooed to look mechanical, thereās a barcode on his side (likely scans for a can of beans, donāt think he cares) and a crow on his upper right arm.
Personality: Despite looking quite intimidating and the whole shooting people thing, Kavās a pretty nice man. Heās intelligent, curious about others, and enjoys talking with people. He enjoys being around others, but also likes being alone from time to time. Itās pretty rare this man feels lonely, and when he does, heās usually able to ācureā that by going and chatting to someone else. Unlike the stereotype of someone with a creative mind, Kavās very rarely sad. The only time he felt truly alone was when he moved to the US, but he got over that once he found a job and made some friends. Kav enjoys talking, but also listening. He doesnāt mind just sitting with someone and hearing what they have to say. However, this doesnāt mean he appreciates being interrupted or ignored.
Despite being a friendly person and nice to be around, it doesnāt stop him from being great in a fight. Heās calm, collected and thinks rationally, following every order. He doesnāt enjoy taking unnecessary risks, but will if needs be. Keeping his cool has saved his neck many times, and enabled him to help his team mates if theyāre in dire situations. He tries to keep one step ahead of his enemies in battle. Outside of battle heās also calm and tends to be the one to split up fights.
Kav has a certain amount of paranoia where his friends are concerned. Do they really like him? Do they just stay around him so that heāll scare off any problems theyāre having? Sometimes he feels like a walking counselling service, and would like to grumble about it, but isnāt quite sure how he should go about this. Often to calm himself before he loses his temper, heāll just go off to read or write a letter to his family in Russia. Although he calls and emails, he enjoys letter writing, as it gives him a chance to think about what heās writing and doing. Despite how judgemental people are about how he looks, Kav really couldnāt care less.
Likes: Reading, writing to his family, art, athletics, talking with people, spicy food.
Dislikes: Tryhards, the heat, driving, having to split up petty fights, people who refuse to listen to what he has to say.
Aspirations: To prove himself to the rest of the squad, to feel comfortable with himself, to push himself to be an even better person.
Flaws: Arguably pushes himself too hard, hard on himself, not always sure of other people, could be considered overly cautious.
Background: Born to a regular family in Arkhangelsk (Russia), Kav spent his childhood drawing lots and trying to keep his fierier brother and sister (Vladimir and Yekaterina) out of fights. He didnāt have many close friends at school, but he was generally liked. He spent time out of lessons reading, drawing or doing athletics. He was especially good at endurance racing, shotput and javelin. Not so much at the jumping ones, as he was too bulky for that. He was also introduced to shooting by his father, whoād take him out of the city to hunt.
After he left school, Kav got a job in a tattoo studio, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He got a few tattoos and piercings of his own and worked on drawing out the designs beforehand for people. One day whilst walking home from work he was a victim of random gang violence; three guys set a dog on him which tore into his face. He threw the dog into a wall, and managed to knock one of the guys over before applying boot to face with a significant amount of force. One of the others smacked him in the mouth with a baseball bat, and nearly broke his jaw. Fortunately, some passers-by who knew Kav from his work managed to scare the guys off and called the police.
Kavās face was nastily scarred, his nose smashed and his facial piercings torn out. For a while after he became wary of going outside before he realised he couldnāt be like that forever. Having been away from his job so long on sickleave, he quit and decided to start afresh. Unable to find another job, he took the money heād saved and moved to the US. Although difficult at first, Kav managed to fit in. He ended up joining the army, wishing to serve his new home country. After a hell of a lot of hard work, a certain Sgt. Kavelin was chosen to join SCESS, much to his surprise. Heād never heard of it before, but was honoured to be asked to join.
Specialities: Kav is a good gunman and is incredibly tenacious. Although funny about taking needless risks, he doesnāt fear anything irrationally and has a good mind for solving problems. In general, people find him easy to get along with, as heās not at all standoffish or arrogant. However, heās confident in his own abilities and honest. His weapon is a Heckler and Koch G36KV, and he also carries a combat knife.
Achievements: Heās pretty new to the squad, so none as of yet. However, heās raring to prove himself and keep his position that he worked so hard for.
