Timothy "Tim" Mathews's Story

"What?" Tony asked, his words caught in his mouth. "I-I'm sorry. I have to get to work." He began reversing again, his brain dismissing the words that he had just heard. He couldn't be a dad. When the hospital released him, they said he had no one. They said he was alone.

"Wait!" The young man called after him. "I just have to know." Tony pushed his foot on the break.

"Know what?"

"The truth," the stranger swallowed once more, practically on his tiptoes.

Tony couldn't believe the words he was hearing. He placed a hand on his temple. It was impossible. He couldn't have a son. When the hospital released him, they said he had no one. They said he was alone. There was no way he had a son. He looked more closely at the man standing in his driveway. Black hair, maybe a little choppy. He swallowed. His eyes were almond shaped just as Tony's own mothers. The green eyes didn't ring a bell. "I know you're confused..." the man began, but then it seemed as if he had ran out of words himself.

"I-I'm sorry." Tony reversed his car out of his driveway and sped as fast as he could down his street.

A dark green escort pulled behind Tony's car. The same man that was in his driveway climbed out. He stepped behind Tony. It was quiet for a moment and Tony just wanted to be left alone. "Look, I need to explain a few things," the young man said quietly. Tony said nothing.

"I know about your accident. I know you don't remember me." Tony remained silent. "But if you'll let me... I've been wanting to meet you my whole life." Tony looked up then to the young man in front of him. His eyes were wide and honest. It was almost as if he was taking in every moment of what was happening. "My name's Tim by the way."

"Tony," tony said softly. The young man chuckled at this.

"Yeah. I know."
