Djinns are a very magical race. Jido is a crossbreed of a Mariad (Powerful water Djinn) and an Ifrit (Hooved fire Djinn), and ended up looking (mostly) human. He can breathe fire and ice depending on which hand is over his mouth. (Hence the materilization of the gas mask over his mouth) The left half of his body is magically imbued with ice while the right half is imbued with fire (thus one side is colder/warmer then the other). Jido can become nothing more then a puff of smoke and travel all round undetected to the naked eye. The problem is any inorganic items that are on him will fall to the ground when in this form and he often materilizes back, able to shift his body to make it look like he's wearing clothes, so he can look like he's wearing a school uniform, a suit, typical jeans and shirt, when in actuality he isn't wearing anything. He's naked ALL the time. (Now when he has something of great importance he's reluctanct to be able to just go poof in smoke but keep in note he might just walk around with clothes for the heck of it)
Jido himself is engrossed in science and alchemy. He has been dabbling in alchemy itself and has created a number of potions, some of which he is proud of: Lava Potion No 2, Paralysis poisons, Metal transfusions, Growth potions etc. He had even, with the help of many medical books, created a few monstrocities where animals have been fused together. (Mini Chimeras, cerberus dogs, etc etc)

Two things about Djinn. Don't try to catch one. Yes, they're name is synomynous with Genie and the success of actually catching a djinn, you'll recieve one wish, for the sake of letting the djinn free. There is no guarantee your wish can be twisted to the djinn's desires and there is no further guarantee that once released, the djinn would try to kill you. (Granting wishes, greatly takes a toll on a Djinn's life)
Djinn do not eat the same way regular people eat. They just eat the essence of souls, living and dead. This feasting barely ever kills anyone on the physical plane and if it does it's only because the djinn is gluttonous, evil, or deprived of nutrition. To some Djinns it's just another part of life and to other Djinn it's a sign of romance between them and their partner/food. The prey is then a little dizzy and a little disoriented after feeding. (The procedure for feeding is very simple, be close to the prey one wishes to feed on. Some methods are more effective then others, direct skin contact, kissing, hugging etc, while other's aren't as effective but more discreet like standing right beside someone, etc.)
Jido also is, not scared, but unnerved by cats...and secretly adores [i]Kittys....
