Sasaki Kojirou's Story

A teenage boy walks down a lonely street in Death City, seemingly confused. He has a map in his hands and a duffle bag hung over his shoulder. He looks around the street curiously, hoping for someone to point him in the right direction of the academy. But the street's deserted. There does seem to be a small huddle of guys a little farther down the road, he should probably ask one of them.

"Yo, can one of you guys point me in the direction of the DWMA?" He asks.

The air freezes. The huddle breaks up and reforms around the still confused boy. "What, are you a freshman or somthin'?" one with a nose ring asks. "We could tell ya, but our school don't need no more losers." He snorts out, "Why don't ya head on home before ya get hurt."

"Watashi no saisho no hi to Watashi wa kore ni taisho shinakereba naranai?" The boy says to himself.

"What the hell is that? Chinese?"

"I'm gonna have to make this quick." Sasaki Kojirou says, his right arm then takes the form of a nodachi blade, "I have orientation today."

The group suddenly converges on him, and it's over in an instant.

Sasaki moves his attention from the pile of thugs, to the girl standing behind him and looks with surprise, "Huh, didn't see ya there." His face lit up as he realized she must also be a student at the DWMA, she must know how to get there. But almost instantaneously he put on a serious expression as he thought, Wait a minute I'll look like a moron if I ask her where the academy is. The guy I got this map from almost laughed at me when I asked for it. I've gotta play it cool, like I know where I'm going.

"H-hey! If you're going to the academy too, why don't we go together?!" He stammered out, a lot louder than he had planned.

"Eh? Why would I think you're weak?" He asks, tilting his head in confusion, "I haven't even seen you fight yet. My teachers always told me to 'never judge a scroll by it's cover', or something like that."

Sasaki looks down at his watch, wondering how much time they have. The look on his face is all the answer they need. "Ah, crap we're late!" He didn't have time for this red- head to take the lead. Instead he grabbed her by the arm and started running in a random direction, hoping it would lead the school.

"Holy crap, we're finally here!" Sasaki says, smiling with pride as they reach the entrance to the academy.



He looks back at his red- headed companion and asks, "What's your name anyway?"

He turned to Lily and grinned, "I'm Sasaki Kojirou, when I'm in weapon form I become a 90 cm nodachi."

(No worries)

"You should never underestimate an opponent, whether they're a meister or a weapon." Sasaki shrugs after saying that, "At least that's what I think."

He turns his back to the Red- haired meister to face Death Weapon Meister Academy, the place where all human weapons go to become Death-scythes; weapons of lord Death himself. All he needs to do is collect 99 kishin souls and the soul of a witch and then he'll join their ranks.



"Eh... meister. I need a meister." He starts scratching his chin, thinking. "I guess I never thought this far ahead." Turning his head so he could look back at Lily, "You aren't looking for a weapon are you?"

Sasaki gave a devilish grin at her response and extended his hand, "Then from today onward let's work together to make me a Death- scythe, partner."
