a character in “SoulChess: The Blood Of The Night”, as played by xXChocobeanXx

Description

Image
This is her melee form. She can still use magic, it's just a lot less powerful than in her magic form.

Image
This is her magic form. Her magic power is greatly increased. Her strength when using her sword in this form has decreased, so she can't really land fatal blows with it. She has a range of spells that will be revealed in the roleplay. (Will be added to her profile.) She doesn't know any major spells though(except her abilities). She can also entrance people with a spell she has yet to learn.

This is Katsuya's Gardenia look as to fit it. (Human)

Name - Katsuya Hirano

Title - Knight

Faction - Plenoran

Role - Knight

Race - Elf - Mage. One of the rare elves that can use magic, melee, and float without magic usage

Gender - Female

Appearance - Katsuya's melee form causes her to have a light white hair with a light green tint to it and is medium length. Her outfit is a simple warrior's gown from her kingdom of Kanavan, which it a brown tunic with beige puffy sleeves, emerald green skirt made of silk and armored boots that come to the middle of her thighs, consisting of the same colors as her tunic. Her eyes are a medium color green.
Katsuya's magic form has a lot more lighter colors than her melee form. Her hair takes a more blonde look to it and the High-Magician Headdress, which looks like a wide, red crown, ties in with her ponytail. The clothes change from her warrior clothing, to High-Magician robe, which mainly has black but has adornments of red lined with a gold trim. Her eyes are grayish-white.
Finally, Katsuya's human form has extremely long, almost white hair and icy-blue eyes to compliment. She likes to keep the shorter parts that are by her head in braids to and to her own fashion sense. Her favorite outfit is a black tank top with a loose gray sweater, neon pink skirt and gray boots with pink embroidery on them.
Her build is skinny with a well-sized bust, standing about 5'5 and carrying around gum packs in her shoes.

Personality - Katsuya found it very irritating that she was peacefully sitting a hidden meadow she found and woke up next in Gardenia. She has come to accept it and use her human form to blend in. She isn't a very big fan of the knight mark on her hand though. She has her kind moments and moments where no one wants to piss her off.
Her kind moments are where she is in a fairly caring mood and cares about someone other than herself. One time when she arrived in Gardenia, someone took her to show her around town and was very nice to her, so in order to return the favor, she helped them out with some work they needed done around their house.
Her mean moments are cruel and torturous to whom ever she is around. Friend or foe, you're not safe. Someone once said high to her before someone else was able to stop them. Later, that guy was found shoved through a window and was hanging by his ankles until he apologized.

How she treats her allies differs from person to person. If she has a grudge against them, she acts like they don't exist unless she absolutely has to. If they are on her good side, they'll be treated with kindness, but they have to earn her respect if they want one free pass on a grudge or two.

Foes are treated with the utter most hatred and she would spit venom at them if she was capable. Basically, she treats foes as if she's having a mean moment. If she is facing a foe and having a bad day, some people who were witnesses in her home kingdom described her expressions while fighting as a twisted joker.

Weapon(s) - :See pictures:
Her vehicle:
Image
This is her wolf Kzyai. It usually leaves a hell fire trail wherever it goes, which isn't very good since enemies could locate it easy. But in return, It's very fast and it bite is worst then his bark.

Fighting Style- She likes to fight at medium to long-range. She is averagely fast, not using her abilities. She usually likes to plan out the battle and see how people fight before she actually joins the fight. If she's in a terrible mood though, she'll usually rush in to get it done and over with or try to sit out unless someone on her team really needs help.

In her melee form, she likes to make sure opponents are usually a sword's tip away so she could see their possible movements. She is ruthless with her sword strikes though and they usually are very quick. She likes to conserve her movements so the opponent can't really guess her next move. It helps that she can float.

In her magic form(it takes about 5 minutes to switch from one to another form) she likes to fight at long ranges, supporting the allies from a distance, usually taking on other long-range people. She usually never uses her sword, but her hands, unless she has to.

--Abilities--
Role Abilities)
Role 1) Sense pressence - Can feel the spiritual pressences of the other "pieces".
Role 2) Knight's Crest - Summons your vehicle or beast to ride.
1) Solar Flare: A magic ability she can only use in her magic form. 6 clear bubbles seen with fire magic float around that when disrupted, catches whatever touched them on fire. It takes a toll by burning Katsuya's hands severely, after casting it, so she can't use it day after day. She has to have a few days in between to let them heal(About a post or two).

2) Mirror Play: Another ability she can only use in her magic form. It's a highly complicated technique that allows Katsuya to use reflective surfaces to either move from place to place in an instant or trick the enemy by thinking she's multiple places at once because they all respond the same except for when they are fighting. The fighting mainly delays the opponent. She can only use it outside the castle and it makes she exhausted that she would have to rest for weeks in order to be able to fight.
The can create about 15 mirrors and hold them for 1 hour.

3) Sword Dance: A move she can only use in her melee form. It allows her to move at hyper-sonic speeds and slash the enemy approximately 73 times. All of them are shallow cuts, but if all of them hit, you'd lose a lot of blood. It takes most of her stamina to even do that move.
She uses a lot of magic to obtain the speed in this move. If she were to stop in the middle of it, the move would backfire and most of the hits would get her.

4) Glass Shards: A move she can can only use in her melee form and shatters her sword into pieces that she can manipulate within a 10 ft distance. She can also change the form of her sword by re-gathering the shards onto the hilt. If she uses this ability too long though, she'll start to have shocks of pain going rapidly go through her body.

History- Katsuya Hirano was born in Kanavan. This place is a beautiful forest, with high royalty ruling over the kingdom of Kanavan. Kanavan had been very peaceful and full of elves, but soon other races wanted in on the peace, so they were allowed in. Katsuya was Prince Lyme treasured bride. On the fateful day, Katsuya had been doing her normal routine: feed the animals(despite the servant's protesting that a Princess shouldn't do such a thing), read to the children, and visit her secret meadow. When Katsuya finally fell asleep, her dreams seemed to go so smoothly but little did she known a new fate was drawn before her. When Katsuya woke up she noticed that she and no longer been in the meadow. Or for that matter, no longer in Kanavan. Katsuya was baffled by how she had gotten in such a strange place. She didn't like it very much, but quickly adapted so she wouldn't stand out too much. People still looked at her strangely though. She noticed why. Her clothing was way different, so she had to switch to her human form and keep her powers under control. She still isn't a very big fan of the crest of her hand and is glad barely anyone can see it.

Kanavan
Lady Katsuya! Prince Lyme is looking for you!" A little servant girl called, running up to her.

"Thank you." Katsuya said, setting down a bucket of water she was carrying up for the animals. "Take that to the horses please." She said, pulling up her skirt bottom and running to the front doors. At that moment, Lyme had walked through, seemingly impatient on waiting for her.

"Where had you been?" He asked, his face flushed with a bright red.

"Calm down. I was just going to my meadow to relax." She shook her head and clicked her tongue. "It's okay to leave without me." That comment sent Lyme and Katsuya in separate ways. They constantly bit at each other's throats, seeing who would react first. Off to her meadow she went.

"Nice to finally have some peace and quiet." She mumbled, laying on her back and closing her eyes.

Gardenia
"Mmf." Katsuya mumbled, jerking herself awake. The smells around her were making her upset and confused all at the same time. Something told her Kanavan was no longer her residence at the moment. "What the....?" She slowly opened her eyes, finding herself in a fast-paced place. She took a look at herself in a puddle as the rain started to beat down upon her. She had been in her human form, but she didn't get a clear look since the rain rippled the puddle. That's when she touched the puddle, revealing the knight's crest on her hand. "Why?" She punched the ground, creating a pothole. It had ruined her looks now, and she didn't like it so. "Godessa, why did you send me here?" She mumbled, shaking some of the water out of her hair.

Then people were walking by her. One after the other, nobody really noticing her, just in a rush to get to their home. One old couple walked up to her after the people thinned out and offered her some warm clothes. Katsuya had gratefully accepted their kind offer and enjoyed their small bicker on who would clean around the house. She followed them, giggling to herself. But it was not a sick, twisted giggle, but the giggle of the little elven child she used to be.

"I'd be happy to help since you're being kind to me." She offered as a token of thanks once she had dried herself out by their fireplace. The flames danced softly, it being on of the few things that illuminated the room. The room was quite well-loved, as some would put it, meaning it was old and the baby blue paint was peeling off the walls. It reminded her of old memories she locked away before her parents had left her.

"That'd be lovely." The old lady said, smiling a grandmother's loving smile to her. That smile stirred Katsuya's heart a little, giving a response smile back at her. "Could you just dust off a few things?" The lady gave her a few simple directions and a duster. She also added that once she was done, she could leave.

"Okay ma'am." Katsuya responded as the couple went up the stairs to rest their bodies. Her eyes wandered to the knight crest on her hand.

"Chess." Was the first thing she blurted out loud. Once she had left the house, letting herself get drenched again. "I am a knight and I must fight." She sighed looking down at herself since the first time she had gotten here. She was in her human form and blended in with the few people still out and about. "I have to get to my castle to defend it." She muttered to herself, stopping and thinking a moment in her confusion. Such an action had made her receive a few odd looks. 'No one else I've seen has my color hair.' She thought, stroking it 5 times before she began to walk to the east. She had to get to someone where someone might know what exactly she might have to do. Someone to lead her in her role in the game humans called 'chess.' An ebbing feeling came in her stomach, telling her someone, some piece was near.

"Not now. I must find the castle." Katsuya said, passing through people, one by one, each one gradually decreasing as she became closer and closer to her destination.

Roy Ametz

Roy Ametz's body had been sitting in the tiny, run-down cafe for almost fifteen minutes now, but his mind was elsewhere. It was busy, quit literally, getting its thoughts in order. The corpse- For corpse it was, with no spark of brainpower to fuel it- sat at a table conveniently out of view, his head bent and eyes staring glassily. A few odd looks had been thrown his way, but all they had seen was a faint haze to the air- A sphere of illusion surrounded him.

Oh god they see me it's turning the gun

Flash. The trenches were filled with the dead and dying, the fetid stench of rot rising into the air. No one had attempted to move the bodies, and the soldiers who remained- A tenth, perhaps, of the unit- were too weak to do so. Roy had done what he could, sealing stomach wounds to stop the stench, but there was only so much possible he could do for the dead. Too weak, he thought. Too weak to keep the illusions going, to heal everyone, to turn the bullets aside... It had worked early on, but he had slowly lost his strength, his will. Probably his mind too. And now the call was coming down the line, a battle-cry of hopeless, insane bravado. "Over the top!"

And Roy Ametz climbed over, a rifle in his hand, and charged with the rest. They were scythed down by machinegun fire and riflemen. He was shot in the leg, and fell into a shell pit- The shrapnel was melted, and charred where it touched. He lay there in the stench, in agony, until a gas shell...

Flash. Earlier now, when he was at home. Days of light and reading, study, not having to worry at the pot of the world bubbled over, before the Americans came back for their money. His first Word- Konpundo, as he sealed the scrapes of his brother's knees. Terror, and visits to physicians, then priests, then the secret mystics who hung on, like rats on a ship, to every country. Magic, old magic.

Flash. The streets, lost and confused. The homeless world under London, which was just as socially complicated and honorable as the real one, which was to say unnecessarily complicated and usually a blackguard. He'd spent his life there, building up what money he could with his illusions at first, then as a sort of hobo doctor, his skills greatly desired by the criminals and fighters of the underground...

And back to his death again. That seemed like it was more in order.

Roy Ametz woke up, blearily blinking his eyes as he took in the cafe. Electric lights. Stone flooring and tables... No, not stone. Something else- Plastic, maybe? The lights were surprising, given how rare the...

Wait a tic, Roy thought. I died! He felt briefly sorry for himself, since dying was a terrible fate to have to suffer, not to mention that feeling sorry for oneself is fairly cathartic. But he couldn't stay there forever, and he slowly lowered the illusion, to get a less shimmery look around.

Fortunately, no one noticed that he'd appeared out of thin air. He nearly choked nevertheless at the utterly bizarre decor of the place, and narrowly avoided knocking over the staff propped against his chair. It was obvious something had happened, and that something did not involve a simple drunken bender. This isn't Heaven or Hell, I'm pretty sure. I think they'd wear less scarves there.

Roy was suddenly struck by an intense desire to leave, his stomach feeling like it was climbing its way up his throat. Unsure why, he quickly left, stepping out into a street that was, again, alien but familiar, and also completely soaked in rain. As he shut the door of the cafe, he noticed a mark on his hand- A symbol he wasn't familiar with, although it looked familiar. It nagged at the back of his mind, but he couldn't place it.

Who gave me a tattoo...? I need to find a safe place, he thought, One where I can think. A manor, perhaps.

So he walked, miserably following the road, something unconscious drawing him onward. Occasionally he caught glances of a distant spire, and that spurred him onwards- But all of the buildings were so tall and many that he hardly knew where he was headed. How do these things touch the sky and not fall? And they look like they're carved from single blocks of stone... Marvelous. Automobiles, at least, he recognized- Even if these were far faster and sleeker than the gas-guzzling monsters he was used to.

No one was dressed alike- The range of fashions were as varied as the faces. No one even spared a glance at Roy's faded clothes... Or looked at him at all. Suspicious, but no doubt they wanted to hurry out of the rain. He certainly agreed- His long hair, uncut after his time in the war, was plastered to his face, his clothes sodden and heavy. His staff kept catching on grates on the ground, or else he jabbed himself in the foot. Bugger.

Something glinted out of the corner of his eye, in the same way an eye-catching piece of jewelry might. At the same time, his hand itched. Roy turned, and he caught a glimpse of someone across the street- Someone with white hair, which was surprising enough. (Katsuya) But, just like him, the moving crowds seemed to phase past her, and something seemed... Familiar, almost. Except he'd never seen such a person before in his life, and he suspected he would have remembered.

He waited for a break in the cars, then darted across the street, trying to worm his way through the crowd to catch up with the woman. "Er- Ex, excuse- Excuse me, miss!" He tried not to shout, afraid of attracting the crowd's attention and making a fool of himself. What was he doing? There was nothing that linked his sudden revival to this woman. He slowed, then stopped, watching her vanish into the crowd. Damn. I'm going mad, perhaps. What am I going to do...?

Nearby was a bench, half-shielded from the rain by an overhang. Roy sat down, whispering "itzuli". A barely-visible barrier, slanted to divert the rain, formed over his head. Alone, wet, and cold, Roy sat to wait the rain out, or for something to happen, or for him to get bored and try finding where his body kept trying to force him to go.

Katsuya

Katsuya whipped around when she thought someone calling out to her. She didn't see anyone when that actually talking to her, she became puzzled. "What was that?" She asked herself, walking back the way she came. She stopped a few feet from a bench, that ebbing feeling coming back to her. She gripped her stomach shortly before letting it go. This time the feeling didn't go away like last time. She walked forward, stopping in front of a bench, looking at the soaked man(Roy).

"Did you see anyone calling for me?" She asked politely, giving a kind, but fake smile. She took a mental note of his features of long, dark brown hair and looking kind of fearful. "Are you alright is what I should ask first." She asked, sitting down next to him, crossing her legs and being careful not to sit on her hair. The feeling in her stomach now was intense and telling her the the source of why this was happening was close.

'I have to ignore it.' She thought to herself, folding her hands and setting them on her raised knee. She doubted that this man could see the mark on her hand. She was getting quite bored actually, maybe she should ask the man another question, then stop to allow him to answer the three questions. "How is life, human?" She sniffed the air to make sure before she leaned her head back to chuckled softly.

Roy looked up, blinking rain out of his eyes. "Eh?" Oh, damnation, she did hear me. The woman sat down beside him, and he stealthily extended the barrier so that it kept the rainwater off of her as well- Though it had been years since he'd had the wealth of one, he had kept at least the manners of a gentleman. Hopefully, she wouldn't noti-

He blinked, as his eyes passed over her, surprised- And not just by the scandalously cut clothing. Another black mark, not identical but similar to his, was on her hand. Maybe everyone has one. He still couldn't quite recall where he'd seen them before, but this one... It looked kind of like a horse.

Realizing he was staring, he jerked his head away, looking up at the sky and fighting back an embarrassed heat. "I, uh... Yes, I'm fine." He didn't take notice of the 'human', instead trying to figure out how to explain why he'd called out to her. "Calling out to you? Er..." Well, the truth might work best. "I'm afraid that would be me. I thought... Er, you seemed familiar. I believed you were someone I knew." Idly, he raised a hand to push his sodden hair out of his eyes, briefly displaying the mark on his hand. Should I ask about it? Or perhaps why she's out in this rain? Few would go out without an umbrella in this weather. The itching of his palms had intensified to an almost painful degree. "My apologies." He paused, then smiled ruefully. "And life? Life is currently very, very wet."

Katsuya looked over at Roy, catching a glimpse of the mark on his hand. "Anyways, do you know of a game called chess? I never learned about it." She said, noticing the rain was no longer falling on her. His mark looked like a... well she didn't quite know the word, but it had lots of pieces in chess.

"Something told me that I am a chess piece." She finished the statement by standing up and flipping her hair. "I have to get to the castle over there." Her fingers where spread out, but her hand was pointed the the black castle in the east, randomly getting illuminated by the bolts of lightning. "Were you heading that way?" She asked, looking at him seriously. She needed to know if she was okay or not or if she might have to kill him.

Aha! Worked perfectly. She'd taken the bait and- Wait what. Chess? He knew chess. Roy looked down at his hand, realizing in an instant that it was the silhouette of a pawn. Well, if I had any self-esteem and -respect left, that would have killed it... He looked up, listening to her. His eyes widened. "You too?" he said, standing up and speaking before his brain could stop him. "Er, that is..."

He trailed off, thinking. "Well, um... Look, let's just be blunt here." He raised the hand that had the pawn on it. "You've got a mark like this. Sort of. I can see it. And I was also h-headed for that castle, although until you said that I didn't really realize it." He hesitated. "Those marks are... They're chess pieces, yes. I guess that means you're a knight, and I'm a pawn. Whatever that means; I haven't a clue." He hesitated again, wondering if he might have misjudged the whole thing. He glanced away, nervously. "Look, do you remember... Dying? Because I did. I know I did. But I woke up here." He shook his head. "No, never mind, that would be personal. I didn't mean to be rude. My apologies, miss...?"

... You idiot. Introduce yourself! "Oh, r-right, let me introduce myself. I am Roy Ametz, former high-class elite, slightly less former street doctor, and currently, I suppose, a soldier." He executed a bow.

Katsuya looked at Roy, her pupils narrowing. "I've never died. I'm the Princess of Kanavan." She huffed slightly before he introduced himself. She thought a bit before she introduced herself. "I'm Katsuya Hirano." She said, returning the bow. "It's nice to meet you Roy." She straightened out her posture and turning to face the castle. "I think that is where we are supposed to go." She ran faster than her walk and eventually made it there with in minutes. Obviously she was out of breath and had to wait for her breathing to slow down and her heart to slow it's beating.

"I shouldn't have ran so fast." She was hunched over, hand on her knees and barely inside the grounds. The structure had been way different than what she was used to in a castle, but hey every castle was different. "I suppose I should wait. A human probably can't run that fast." She chuckled, stretching her body by moving her hands to her lower back and leaning backwards.

"Man I love this city! People make their eating utensils out of silver! This whole town must be more loaded than King Midas!" Autolycus said to himself as he sat upon a rooftop, counting his spoils. He had been at it for quite awhile now, and he had collected many valuable items. "I wonder where I could fence this stuff off to and make some Dinars!" He thought aloud as he looked at his loot. "Until I find one, I better stow this stuff away......some place nobody would look." Autolycus looked around and then noticed that odd Black Castle on the outskirts of the city. As soon as he saw it, he felt the same odd feeling as before. As if he had lived there all of his life. "Well, no one would suspect it." Autolycus said to himself. He gathered up all of the absconded valuables in one of his special sacks and leaped off the roof.

He flew over rooftops and and the heads of people caught out in the rain. It felt good to the feel the rain on his face again. Persia isn't exactly the wettest of countries, and it made him feel like he was in Greece again. It had been years since he had seen his ancestral home. Now, he may never see it again. Though he was calm on the outside, inside Autolycus was swimming with a plethora of mixed emotions. He had no idea what was happening or why he was truly here. He just decided to do what he normally does, go with the flow.

He reached the outskirts if the city in a matter of minutes. He could sense....presences of the....others that were involved in.....whatever this was. He walked through the forest road up to the tall looming ebony castle. It cast no shadow since the moon was hidden by clouds, but he imagined it would be just as dark if it did. As he drew closer, he noticed a girl standing in front of it. He quickly jumped into one of the trees silently and threw his cowl on and became invisible. He hoped to each tree like there was little gravity. He looked down at her, he seemed to be sensing her. She was one of the people who was involved in whatever was going on. He then looked closer and noticed a mark on her hand. It was similar to his, yet different. They were both at the black castle, they must be on the same team. Besides.....she was rather beautiful. He his loot in the tree and jumped onto the ground with no noise. He then spoke, while still invisible. "Why, hello there." Autolycus then stepped towards her and removed his cowl, turning him visible again. He then made a very exaggerated bow. "I am Autolycus, King of Thieves. What would a beautiful maiden such as yourself be doing in the presence of such a dark and foreboding castle." He said this oozing with suave and slowly walking around her like a shark circling it's prey. "But..."He stopped just in front of her, taking her hand. He then bent down, his mouth just above her hand. "Does this beautiful maiden have a name?" he then lightly placed his lips on her hand.

Roy still hadn't caught up to her yet. 'Humans are so slow.' She thought, standing there waiting for him. Then someone(Autolycus) greeted her and said he was the 'King of Thieves.' He persisted by asking her why she was here and what her name was. Except she didn't like the way the man worded it. It made him seem old, or from a different era. "Kinuln nael, qiole huyoe tiquk roxazey fiore os wyarde." She mumbled before taking her hand away from him. She didn't sense anything from him, but she could barely make out a mark of his hand. "I am Katsuya Hirano. I am supposed to be a knight." She said turning to face the entrance that she came through to be on the grounds. "I should ask you, what are you doing here human?" She asked, acting snobby and a little annoyed. She hated it when people snuck up on her, only Prince Lyme was allowed to do that. She wasn't in her normal forms, so no one could tell what race she was. They had just assumed she was human, but now she had assumed the man in front of her was a human. He didn't smell like a human, so she did the same for him.

"What is your name?" She asked, continuing to speak English. She doubted anybody understood elfish, which was good if she wanted to say something without them knowing, but she couldn't share if she had ideas and didn't want some other people besides the person she was talking to to know. "Wah." She stretched again, thinking of how she had gotten from Kanavan to this city. It puzzled her, frustrated her. She had been relaxing in her meadow and then she woke up here. She was still getting soaked with rain as it fell. Her hair was sticking to her clothes, which were sticking to her body.

Roy's eyes widened. "Princess?" She's royalty? Alone, and dressed like that? But he had no reason to suspect she was lying, or that she was telling the truth, and so it changed little. He turned to look towards the castle. "Yes, that's the place. Care to travel with... Um..." He was suddenly aware that she'd vanished, run off so quickly he couldn't even see her already, and leaving him along under his barrier umbrella.

... Well, fine, if you want to get soaked, he thought, annoyed at her and himself.

Roy headed for the castle, manifesting and removing barriers overhead to keep himself from getting soaked further. Fortunately, the streets had mostly cleared, so no one was around to hear him mutter to himself like a madman. As he continued through the streets, he noted a few things further. Empty stands declaring newspapers for sale, boxes that lit up with the occasional burst of sound and light, but mostly just flickered... Some of the buildings didn't seem especially real either. It was starting to unnerve him. That, combined with the complete ignorance of him by the populace, made him wonder if perhaps he'd become a ghost.

But no. That was stupid. Ghosts weren't real, any more than... Than...

Any more than magic is, right? said a treacherous part of his brain. He sullenly told it to shut up or he'd turn the barriers off.

Either way, he was certain he wasn't a ghost. But that didn't explain what he actually was though. Presumably, the same thing as that girl- She didn't die, which ruled out ghosts. Unless she didn't know she died. Shut up, brain.

Soon, although not so soon that he hadn't nearly exhausted himself with his 'umbrella', he found himself walking down a dark forest path instead of a rainy street. The transition had been sudden, just as the disappearance of any life besides his own had. Before, he'd simply been alone metaphysically, an ignored outsider. Now the only people here were himself and... And...

Outside of a massive gate of black marble, he could see Katsuya and another talking. He felt the same sort of odd remembrance for the other man, an inexplicable comradeship that almost completely vanished when Roy saw him kiss her hand. That cheeky bastard! Smooth, though.

He waved a hand in their direction and whispered "itzuli." A barrier appeared over the heads of the two, hopefully keeping the rain off them. They might notice it as branches overhead were pushed aside and the rain began to slide off to fall off the path. "Hallo!" he called, hurrying up and getting rained on again as he outran his barriers. When he reached the safety of this one, he smiled. "Hello again, miss Hirano. And good evening, sir...?"

Calliope had exchanged her her dirty dress for a black skirt and tank top which were connected to eachother with a hauberk. Unlike she had expected it was quite comfortable and somehow even complimented her figure. The high heels she had been wearing were switched with black boots. The only things she was still wearing were a bracelet and her beloved ribbon. "Now let's try to find some other "Chess pieces",shall we?"

She had been only walking for a minute of two when she saw the gates of a black castle. There were three other persons. One female and two males. The Female quite the beauty, the males weren't bad-looking either. She walked up closer wondering if she would interupt the dicussion they seemed to have. "Well even if don't bother them I'll will be disturbing them anyway since the place I'm trying to go to is the castle and they are standing right in front of the gates." When she had finally closed up the gap between them she had decided to just listen to their discussion for now. She sat down only a meter away from where they were standing watching them like they were the lead actors in an interesting play.

The woman took her hand away from his lips. He found that quite rude for her to treat him in such away when he had been nothing but a gentleman. She then told him her name. "You have two names? You must be a Roman or some easterner. Ive always found it a little too...........extravagant to have more than one name. Then again, your beauty is extravagant so, it fits." He said with a suave smile, his teeth seemed to gleam, even though there was very little light. "What do you mean, supposed to be? Are you a knight or aren't you? If you are, I'd say your a knight of Aphrodite. For only a woman of ethereal quality could have eyes like yours." He said, ever inching closer to her. He slowly walked around to where she had just recently faced. Her next comment was one of the rudest things he had ever heard. He stopped in front of her and looked her up and down. He then sniffed the air around her. "Yep, you must be royalty. Only a royal can think so highly of themselves as to believe any other person they come in contact with is beneath them. For your information, sweetheart, I ain't no human. I'm the son of a god. That isn't a figure of speech, I'm Autolycus! Son of Hermes, God of speed, sportsmanship, travel and thieves. So no matter how blue your blood is, you can't outrank a Demigod." He turned away from her and walked a few feet away from her with his hands on his hips. "Then again." He turned back to her. "I'm sounding exactly like you now. I guess we both need to work on that. I'm not going to though. I pride myself by having the biggest ego in the known world. How could I not when your as skilled as I am. After all, I am....." He did a quadruple back flip from where he was standing all the way to the gate of the castle and landed on one of the small spikes sticking out of the black gate. Both feet seemed to be balancing perfectly on the single spike. His scarf blew in the wind and he looked directly at her. "....The King of Thieves." He then jumped off the fence and glided all the way to her.

When he landed next to her, he turned to her. "As to what I'm doing here......well that's none of your business, little girl." He then suddenly appeared incredibly close to her, holding her hands. "Unless.....you'd like it to be your business" He said with a grin, eyebrows dancing up and down. He was about to continue when an awkward looking man(Roy) waved at them and greeted them. He immediately backed off, not knowing what could happen. He also noticed that no rain was hitting him any more, but it was still raining. He found it very odd. He greeted the lady as if he was her servant. He seemed very nice though. He turned to him. He smiled and grabbed his forearm in a warm grip. "Name's Autolycus, King of Thieves. Well met. You a friend of...uh.......which name do you use as your casual name. I can never figure it out." He said, scratching his chin. "Ah well, it doesn't matter. Since we all seem to have some sort of mark, I believe we are all here for the same purpose. I am a Bishop. Katsuya, you said your a knight. That means.......whatsyourame over here is a...." He turned the mans arm and looked at the mark. "A pawn. I have no idea what any of that means, except that were comrades. Fighting for the glory of.....Black, I believe." he said, still thinking about it.

He was going to say more, when he saw a redheaded woman(Calliope) standing a bit away from them, watching them. He immediately went to her. "Well, fortune spreads her legs for me this day. An other beauty has come into my.......wait a minute." Autolycus slowly made his way toward her, looking very intently at her face. "I know your face........" He examined her even closer, his eyes then lit up. "Calliope! Apollo's girl! It's been awhile. Last time I saw you, you were pining after that one mortal. What was his name? Adndrocles? Ajax? Atraxis? Anyways, I hope there's no hard feelings about Pyrois. It was only one of your dads horses....and he got them back." he said in a friendly manner. He then stopped and looked at her. "Calliope....what are you doing here? And.....what are you wearing?"

Calliope showed him a bright smile.
"Long time no see,Dear. And didn't you know? My mortal was called Andreas and well,I kind of made him immortal but then dumped him by making a deal with Hades. He cheated on me and you know that I hate it when people betray me. Maybe I'm a little too hard with that but I cant' change my personality even if i would want to. But I guess I don't need to explain to you. You know how easily I'm prickled on that area. What I'm more suprised about is that you didn't know. Since it's the talk of the century between the gods I figured you would know but...seems not. And of course I habor no hard feelings about Pyrois,It's my dad's horse, not mine. So,in a way it had nohing to do with me. And if you ask me he should have cared more for the thing. Then now moving on to the clothing,Next time ask one thing at a time okay? Now I have the feeling that I just keep rambling on and on....." She stopped for a moment to sigh and took a deep breath which she didn't need to take."To be honest with you I'm not a fan of the clothing either, you know I like my clothing to be more ....daring. But the gown I was wearing became dirty and an old man was willing to trade with these clothes ..... "

Deliberately she let a blush came on her face before continuing her talk. She really loved how she was able to completely control her face. It was ony of those skills which came naturally with being a muse. You had to be a perfect artist on every area, acting included. She took a deep breath opened her mounth but then immediatly closed it again. She did the same progress several times to make it seem like she hesitated to tell him. "....Ah.....,it's kind of embrassing but the reason I am here is...Well after my problems with my mortal,I realized just how much of a gentlemen you were and I know that this is going to sound cheesy but I can't put it in anyother way." For a moment she was quit to give the words she was going to say next more impact. She really loved acting."I..I...I am afraid that I have fallen for your overflowing charms and while searching for you to confess my love I ended up here.....Hahaha,Don't worry that was just a joke. Even though I would love to have a romance with you that isn't the reason why I'm here." She showed the crest on the palm on her hand, the crest of a queen. "I have also been chosen,Who are your friends ?" she said with a look at them "Mortals? My name is Calliope by the way." Those words had been directed at the other two who were with Autolycus

Roy looked between the two, the newcomer and the cloaked man, confused. Their names were very familiar to one educated in the classical style, but... "Er, excuse me," he asked, certain he'd heard wrong. "Did you just say Autolycus? King of thieves, stole entire herds of animals, taught Herakles how to throw down?" He forced his tone to be light. "And... Calliope? Homer's Muse? Surely, this is some kind of a jest?" He looked between them, as they talked of things that were surely just mythical. Or, so he would have thought. "Aha, you're... You're not joking. Aha." Well, there goes all reason and sanity. Myths and legends walk among us. Of course, Roy himself was dead, so he supposed he shouldn't be too surprised.

He cleared his throat, aware that his face was probably reddening. That's right, Roy, make a fool of yourself in front of two young ladies... Such a gentleman you are. I just need some time to figure this new situation out, that's all. "Ah, my apologies... I am Roy Ametz, of London. Er, I suppose you'd never have heard of it, considering your time period..." He racked his brain. The Romans had conquered Britain, but had the Greeks even known of it? Years on the streets had reduced his knowledge, but he was pretty sure the answer was 'no'.

Calliope looked at the one who had introduced himself as Roy Ametz. "Yes,I'm Homer's Muse,But Sweetheart of course I know where Brittain lays, how would I otherwise have been able to inspire Shakespeare and go annoy him everyday. Well I annoyed him in the beginning but in the end he treated me like his sister and he offered me a romance.....I should have made him immortal instead of Andreas,At least he was a gentlemen, had talent and actually loved me. That's not something you can say about Andreas."

Katsuya

'Greek legends?' She thought, sitting down in mid-air and thinking to herself before she asked out loud, "What are these... Greeks you speak of? Are they a type of dessert?" She crossed her legs and looked at each one of them before going back to think about what Autolycus said.

'A Demigod? What the hell was a Demigod?' Katsuya sighed, giving up the matter. Humans were confusing to her, but Elfish might be confusing to the humans, so all was fair. She pushed the air around her to turn to face the girl with red hair and odd clothing(Calliope) and Autolycus. "To let you know, Katsuya is my first name," she said blankly before continuing. "Also, I'm don't know of 'Westerners' or any of the like." She switched to laying on her stomach, again still floating in the air. "I am the proud Elven Princess of Kanavan." She giggled, finally noticing the rain was no longer falling on her again.

Then what everyone was calling the girl finally made through her thick skull. "What is a 'Homer's Muse?'" Katsuya asked impatiently, hating being left out. Again, humans were getting on her nerves, along with the... Demigod and Muse. She sat there silently, her blue eyes illuminating in a bolt of lightning that flashed suddenly. The weather seemed to be calming down, but ferocious still, dragging it out.

Roy shook himself out of his shock. She taught the Bard himself! This more than makes up for my death. Imagine what I could learn from this woman- What the world could...! He shook himself out of that, too. No, no, slow down, Roy. You're dead. No doubt this isn't the same world you're used to. He recalled some degree of his instruction under the venerable Mario Apicello, the one who'd taught him how to use his magic; Something about how there were many worlds, of which his had been just one. While he had dismissed it as preposterous then, who knew, now? But no, more likely this was some different time or place than he had lived in. They might as well have been the same thing. His education, frivolous and obsessed with tradition as it was, would no doubt be next to useless here. It was his street skills that would protect him. Nevertheless, curiosity prompted him to speak. "I'm impressed by that- Tell me, does that mean that the 'Dark Lady' from his sonnets might be-?" He was interrupted, however, by Katsuya.

"What are these... Greeks you speak of? Are they a type of dessert? What is a 'Homer's Muse?'"

Roy turned, surprised. She looked foreign, though. I shouldn't be surprised to learn she is. "The Greeks are... A people, I suppose. In Europe, and obviously in Greece. Once upon a time they controlled much of the known world." He wrinkled his nose. "Mind, the 'known world' generally consisted of a few hundred miles of coasts, back then. And Homer was an author of epic poems, apparently inspired by this lady, the Muse Calliope." He hesitated. "You speak English, though. Where are you from, if you've never heard of the Greeks despite that? They're fairly well known."

He thought he heard, faintly, the sound of crashing movement, but felt certain he was wrong. After all, nobody else was near, right?

Calliope listened to Roy, fairly amused. He talked like controlling those miles of coast was nothing.
She was getting more and more curious about this boy. Something about him was different then normal humans.
Then again, she stongly doubted that if you were a normal person you would be chosen for this game. 'Well,Roy,Autolycus and .....' Before she could even finish her sentence she flinched suprised by a sudden noise......Calliope looked around her at the people who were standing with her. Roy seemed to have noticed it to. 'Was I the only one who heard that or what? And if I wasn't I suggest we go investigate what it was. 'So,let's go inside,Shall we?'

Roy's eyes widened. One person hearing things was a coincidence, but two meant there was a wolf behind you. Er, so to speak. "Yeah. There must be somebody else in the castle." He turned towards the castle, where the gates stood open and inviting.

Here we go, storming our own castle. Great start, guys. "I dunno about you all, but getting out of the rain sounds great too." He grinned. "Besides. This place is ours, I think. We probably should check it out, no?"

He hurried inside, coming into a large entrance chamber. (Sorry, GM, but I want to move this along.) A large open space with chairs along the walls and, at the back, a large, doubled staircase to the next floor. Doors were located along all walls, to who knows where- None had any markings to discern their purpose. Black was, of course, the dominant color, but it was by no means the only one. The warm browns, reds, and whites of oak and mahogany decorated the stairs and banisters, while golden tapestries depicting...

Roy found his eyes dancing over the embroidery, unable to focus on it. Whatever it showed, he could not for the life of him see it. Perhaps that was a good thing.

"Hello?" he called out, unusually brave for once. "Is anyone there?" The sound of movement was still audible from nearby...

Katsuya

Katsuya hesitated a moment before following Roy into the castle, though she was distracted by so many things. "Hm." She grunted, resting her head in her hand. "I do wonder about these things sometimes." She proceeded, laughing to herself as she went through the giant doors. "Roy?" She asked around, losing him, occasionally seeing outlines of things as her eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness. It was one one of the things she hated more than her fear of drowning, or dying.

The darkness seemed to close in on her, practically suffocating her in it's grasp. "N-No." She charged forward, smacking her head into a pillar. Her forehead had a bump on it and she feel backwards on top of that. "It hurts!" She cried out like a small child who had just scraped their knee. "ROY!" She screamed this time, wanting someone to be there to comfort her and tell her it would all be alright.

After a few moments of silence, she pulled her knees to her chest and started crying. "I want to go home. Back to Kanavan." She hiccuped in between a few words, but she knew that wasn't going to happen. It pained her to think that she would never she her family again. None of the friendly neighbors. None of the Palace Personnel. "My heart truly hearts." She sobbed a bit more, letting her face face on her knees. "I don't know anyone here! I probably won't make any friends!" She screamed angrily, her legs making it quiet so it wouldn't echo. Her body could be seen shaking up and down, and she continued to wail quietly.
