Claire Sawyer's Story

Claire shook her head around trying to get her bearings. How is any of this possible? She wondered to herself. There were robots everywhere and all the building were in ruins. She could smell the smoke rising off the buildings and feel the heat of a nearby fire. Claire slapped her face with both hands trying to wake herself up. It she was dreaming, that would do the trick. Everything remained the sae and Claire knew she was awake in this impossible world. A few robots stepped forward raising thier guns in her direction.

First things first. She thought bringing her foot up and slamming it into the ground. The earth broke under her feet and two boulders jetisoned out of the ground into the robots, destroying them instantly. Claire crouched and moved behind an old building for cover. She looked out over her surroundings trying to decide her next step.

Claire watched from her vantage point behind the building. She was having a hard time deciding what to do. There were still a good amount of robots out there and her last attack was making her feel a little weary. "Shouldn't have tried to move so much." She said cursing herself. She looked around again, she could have sworn she saw some other people here but maybe her mind was plating trick on her. Sh was about to duck into her hiding spot again when she spotted a younger girl heading towards her position. Claire took a step ut to meet her when another robot pushed its way into viewbehind the girl. It raised it's shotgun to fire. Claire sprang from her position and tackled the girl to the ground. She then clenched her hand taking hold of a large boulder not far from her and sent it crashing into the metal being. Claire pusd herself up off the girl. "I'm sorry are you okay?"

Claire punched the ground creating a think stone wall between them and the direction the robots were in. She let out a pent up breathe. She was using up a lot of her energy and she didn't like it. She needed plan ahead more. She turned to Lili. "I'm Claire. I haven't a clue as to where we are. I woke up in a white room where some hologram told to fight or die and then I was here. Never seen this place before and I've traveled the world."

Claire looked out from behind the wall to her surroundings. She didn't see ant robots near or for that matter any othe people. She turned to Lili. "You haven't seen anyone else have you? Your the first person I've ran into."

Clairs nodded to Lili. "I won't need a weapon but you should have one. Something hard but light would work best." She put her hand to the ground and and let her senses search the earth for abnormalities. Everything seemed normal at first but she found what she was looking for within a few minutes. She pushed her hand forward and a lead pipe pushedits way out of the ground. It had most likely been used in the water system bu since that was no longr running she didn't feel bad about it. Claire pulled the pipe out of the ground and handed it to Lili. "Here you can use this and don't worry about me, I'm an expert martial artist so I can fight without any weapon. In fact, I perfer it. Now let's get moving."

She stepped out from behind he wall she had made but stopped when saw something out of the corner of her eye. She saw another girl not to far away who had just used a boulder to destroy a robot. Could there be another earth mover like me here? She wondered. She waved to Lili to follow her and quickly made her way over to the girl who looked like she was going to callapse. Claire hid behind some rubble for cover and tried to catch the girl's attention. "Hey! Over here!" She said in a lower voice.

Claire was still trying the get the other girl attention when Carig came up behind her. She was so focused in her task she did not even notice him. When he spoke she turned around startled by him. She took her familiar fighters stance ready to go toe-to-to with a robot when she realized he was human. She took a deep breathe glad he wasn't going to kill her. "Don't scare me like that." Only after that did Claire take a closer look at him and realize he was badly injured. She rushed over to him crouching low for cover. "Stay close to me and I'll get us out of here. Are you able to walk? What's your name? I'm Claire."

Claire looked Craig over again sure that his injuries were a bit more than "a few bruises" as he put it but she did not push him for mor accurate information. Claire turned back to Lili hearing her question. For all the chaos around her it sure seemed quiet to her. "I'm sure he will be fine Lili. Who's your friend?" Claire asked.

Claire shifted her feet trying to allow better circulation to flow so she didn't feel so unconfortable crouching as she was. She scanned the area again checking for robots. The sky was dark with smoke of the burning building and thefew robots that had been destroyed. There was rubble everywhere the remnants of the city that must have once stood here. She found herself curious as to what had happened to the people who had once lived here. Also, was this place even real or were they in a hologram. This place seemed too real to be a hologram but she didn't dismiss this idea either.

"I'm Craig, what the hell are we going to do?" Claire looked to Craig giving the question only a moments thought before answered. "We survive Craig. We fight." Like it was the simplest thing in the world.

Claire looked over to the house indicated by Craig. There did appear to be a light on inside of it but why wasn't it in ruins like the rest of this area. The building seemed very suspicious to her. Who in there right mind would make themselves know in a warzone like this. They were either an enemy or extremely deperate. Either way Claire wasn't sure she wanted to deal with them. She looked to the others. "Anyone could be in there. This seems more like a trap than anything else but then again it could be someone who really needs help. I don't trust it and rather not run the risk. I suggest you do the same but if you all want to go then I will of course go with you."
