Apperance Description
With wind-blown hair that is the color of dried, rusty blood, Jack is never one to be skipped over in the looks department. Instead of giving him a quick glance, most people - if anyone really saw him - would crane their heads to keep him in sight. It isn't the color of his hair or the fact that he stands at a brooding and interesting height of 6'2", but instead his eyes. A light gray in color, they are intense and seem to lock the gazes of those who dare to look.
Armor/Clothing
Although it would be sensible for someone in his 'line of work', Jack has never required the use of any type of protective clothing - so obviously he does not wear armor. Instead, he tends to go towards more comfortable clothes, or what would be deemed as 'fancy. He either dons a pair of brown, light trousers, a dark, long-sleeved flannel, and a pair of black boots, or a nice black suit, adorned with a white dress shirt and a dark red bow. The only items that he continuously has on his person is his book of shadows/grimoire and a flask necklace that his mother gave him long before he was force-ably taken from his family and friends. Without the necklace, however, he is unable to perform any type of magic. Inside of it are contents unknown to all but his mother and himself, and if asked, he refuses to answer.
Also, a key part of his appearance is his mask, which he is rarely seen without. It covers the entirety of his face other than his nose and lips, shielding the rest from view. Its' purpose? The queen bestowed it upon him so that she would forever be able to control him. So long as he wears that mask, he is not free, and does her every bidding, no matter his own feelings in what it may be. Laced throughout the mask is the queen's blood, so that they are forever connected.
ღ Dead Languages ~ He has a knack for dead languages, his perfection of which being Latin. He can both read and speak in twelve different dead languages, a skill that his mother taught him before he was taken.
ღ Spell Casting ~ Although not a master as of yet - for everyone can always improve in any area they are in - he is very skilled in casting and creating different spells, and has even written several of his own creations down in his families' Grimoire - the book of shadows that his mother gifted him with before he was taken.
ღ Potion Creation ~ Although not his most honed skill by far, he has worked with what little the queen has given him throughout the years of his containment in the cave, and has come to be quite a skilled potion creator. Not only has he used herbs for medicinal purposes, but he has also perfected different 'potions', as you may. The purpose of each potion, one may ask, will however remain a secret, locked within his own mind and within the pages of his Grimoire - to which no one but himself and his mother could ever open.
ღ Artistry ~ Due to his imprisonment for such a long period of time in a cave without anything else to do, Jack entertained himself by dabbling in the arts. He became quite the artist when it came to sketching, drawing, or painting. His canvas, you ask? Everything. From the walls of the caves to the floors, he used whatever he had at his disposal and whatever he could.
ღ Music ~ He was allowed by the Queen to bring along a few things with him when she took him. He opted for not only his Grimoire and some basic tools to perform his magic with, but also his art supplies and his two favored instruments – his violin and his cello.
Rejection ~ After the trauma of being torn from his family, and his fear of emotions, he is afraid to become attached to anyone. If rejected, he will feel pain - the thing he fears most.
Memories ~ Once again, pain is involved in this phobia. Memories mean that he feels nostalgia, and nostalgia means that he misses things. When he misses something, he feels sorrow and pain.
Bad Habits / Vices
Cracking ~ He often cracks his knuckles, neck, back, and other joints throughout his body.
Best Qualities
Caring ~ When he does allow his emotions to take over and escape, or as he refers to it, 'run rampant', he is one of the most caring individuals a person could meet. He's a lot like a puppy, to be frank. He's playful, yet protective, and dotes upon whatever holds his affection. Many have said that he would be a great father and husband.
Listening ~ Having spent most of his life alone in a cave, he really only had himself and the dragon for company. He rarely spoke other than when it came to singing, and is very easy to speak to about personal matters.
Advice ~ A philosophical man at heart, Jack spent a lot of his time reading books when he wasn't working on his art or his magic. His mind grew as his body did, and he became quite the gifted advice giver.
Hugs ~ Despite his cold-hearted outward persona, he knows when someone needs comfort. He is well-known for giving the best of hugs.
Worst Qualities
Abrasiveness ~ In order to keep his emotions bland and neutral, he is often abrasive and abrupt with anyone he comes into contact with. He brushes them off and acts as though he could care less about anyone or anything - which, for the most part, is true.
The Cold Shoulder ~ Just as with his abrasiveness, he often brushes people off and turns the 'cold shoulder' onto them. It's better than getting hurt, correct?

History
Amelia {Jackovitch's Mother}
Due to him being taken at a very tender age, there isn’t much to say about Jack’s history.
Born to a middle-class family, his mother had inherited her father’s farm, to which she had assisted in tending to for almost the entirety of her life. She continued to run it after she inherited it, but as side work would make beautiful blankets, tapestries, and clothes. His father, however, was a skilled artisan and was well-known throughout all of the kingdoms for his abilities. Not only that, but he was also a genuinely kind person and often gave ‘deals’ to people who couldn’t afford the prices that he had set. For example, if a poor farmer could not afford to pay for a gift for his bedridden wife, Jack’s father would agree to either have him perform some idle chores for him around his own home, or would allow the man to pay him by other means – crops, bread, wood; anything he may have had.
Jack was born the eldest of eight – at least, he knew of only the eight. His parents had three children after he was taken, to a total of a whopping eleven kids. He was raised to take care of his siblings, especially his sisters, and never received any schooling from anyone other than his mother. He was forced to give up his own childhood in order to assist his parents in raising the many children. However, when he reached the age of ten, a tragedy hit their family: illness. A plague had been spreading throughout the kingdoms at that time, and before his very eyes his treasured siblings were dying off.
First went his two-year-old sister. Following her was his six-year-old brother. The last death was his five-year-old brother. He was left with, instead of seven siblings, four. His mother was stricken with grief, but she knew her duties and forced herself to continue on. His father was rarely home due to him trading with merchants and other artisans or farmers so he didn’t hear of their deaths until a month after they occurred. He was, of course, destroyed by losing three children, but he too knew his duties and pushed himself on.
Despite the fact that he had so many siblings, Jack and his mother, Amelia, were always very close. What brought them together, one may ask, was magic. His mother was born to a sorcerer and a priestess, and therefore carried strong magic within her blood. Her husband, however, did not know this. He was completely normal. Despite the strong magic that flowed within her – magic that was hardly equaled by most sorcerers and sorceresses – she gave birth to only one child that carried on the same magic. Her first child, Jackovitch.
Now, young sorcerers have great difficulty controlling their magic, especially when they are of the baby and toddler ages. Child sorcerers have greater power than when they are adults, and therefore do not require incantations to perform magic. Instead, they can do it with a wave of their hand or a giggle. In fact, his power as a babe was so immense that when he was one, he giggled and turned their pet dog into a toad. His mother, thankfully, was able to change the toad back into a dog, but his father found out about his magic, and there for Amelia’s, also. He was upset – but only because Amelia did not tell him of this.
Amelia spent the next twelve years teaching him everything that her parents had taught her. She taught him how to speak and read in several languages, both dead and currently existing, and also gave him her families’ grimoire. She taught him how the control his magic, create new spells, and combine different herbs for medicinal and potion purposes.
On his twelfth birthday, however, as all sorcerers and sorceresses do, he hit puberty. As soon as a child with magic hits puberty, they are able to be sensed by others with power, whether that power was equal or unequal to their own. He immediately hit the radar, and the Queen, sensing his power with her own – which she later forced herself to forget (see the Queen’s biography) – immediately went to his home and took him from his family, for a child with a power as great as his, despite the mixed blood of a human and a sorceress, was a child to be treasured. She then placed him in the cave with the dragon, along with a mask fitted to his face and laced with her blood and magic, and forced him to grow up there with the Dragon Keeper of that time. Once he reached the age of sixteen, as all new trainee dragon keepers do, the old Dragon Keeper was allowed to retire and return home. She returned only to bring him the basic necessities, but was soon replaced by a trusted adviser of the Queen, who appeared only to bring him food and occasionally new books and herbs.
He spent from the age of twelve years old to the age of thirty-two in the cave. When he reached the age of eighteen, however, the Queen appeared with a baby in her arms and ordered him to raise the child. Unable to resist her command due to the mask she had given him, he accepted the babe and raised her as his own, giving her the name ‘Emma’, due to the Queen’s refusal to say who the child belonged to and what her name was. As she grew, he taught her to walk, talk, sing – everything a parent would do. He fed her, bathed her, made clothes for her, seeing as the Queen refused to give the girl much. Her hatred for Emma was beyond him, but he shrugged it off and kept on with his business of raising the girl. He taught her to read, dance, and even a bit about the art that his own father had taught him. He performed every duty that a parent should have, and without complaint. In fact, he thoroughly enjoyed it – much to his dismay, for when he had been placed alone in the cave, he had become a stoic, hard boy, and grew into a man just as such. He feared having to suffer through the pain of loss again, and instead vetoed to not care about anything ever again. He gave a stony appearance on the outside whenever around the dragon or the girl.
However, when he reached the age of twenty-five, he noticed something – he had stopped aging. It turns out that the Queen had put a hex on the cave so that whenever a new Dragon Keeper arrived, they would cease aging around the age of nineteen or twenty years. The purpose? - So that she would not have to replace the Dragon Keeper every thirty years or so. It was a good idea for her, but it bothered Jack far more than he cared to admit. Why would he want to be thirty-two, yet stuck in the body of a nineteen-year-old? It didn’t really help that, despite his years in the department of maturity, he had yet to move on physically form a young adult. His hormones were still that of a nineteen-year-olds, as were his thoughts on certain subjects.
When the Queen allowed him to leave the cave at the age of sixteen, he gladly snatched up the opportunity. He was forced, however, to stay within her kingdom so as to keep an eye on Emma and ensure that she did not escape. He would be the one to deliver food and other basic necessities to her – yet the Queen forbid him to give her anything else. Despite this, he knew the inquisitive mind of the girl, having raised her himself, and went behind the Queen’s back by delivering new books to her whenever he was able. He wished, of course, that he could give her clothes also, but clothes were a bit harder to hide than a book.
