GENERAL APPEARANCE
Hide is very agile and quick on his feet, having full control over his body at all times. His reflexes are sharp and cat-like and he can be very fast when he wants to be. Hide does not have much in the manner of brute strength, but he is clever and knows how to shift his weight so as to use it to his advantage in a fight. Hideo's hair is dark ebony black in color and is rarely styled, often resembling bedhead. His eyes are silver-blue. XX
Hideo's skin is very pale due to his adamant avoidance of the hot sun and he has very few visible scars, the largest of that few being a burn mark on the left of his chest. He gained the mark after attempting - in vain - to erase a tattoo he had gotten with Hajime. He keeps the half-burned tattoo covered up whenever he can, rarely letting it show. XX
Hide dislikes anything other than the blue uniform-esque outfit he wears into battle. He wears other clothes for sleeping & sparring, as never leaves home without his artifact. XX
" Whenever you're darkened by sadness, and your tears overflow; "
◇ Arrogant ◇ Insensitive ◇ Antisocial ◇ Overprotective ◇ Clever ◇
Hideo isn't necessarily selfish though - in fact, he all but hates himself - but he still refuses to allow himself to get close to anyone, even the other Divos/Divas. Because of this reluctance toward friendship, Hideo often appears to be self-centered and arrogant. Arrogance isn't too far off. He puts an unhealthy amount of faith in himself and his abilities whenever he is in a fight and will often be injured due to this habit. XX
Despite not wanting to make any friends, if one of the other fighters is in danger - for example, if an enemy were sneaking up behind them - Hide would not hesitate to protect them, no matter what the cost might be. He likes the positive feeling that comes from protecting someone else, even if he refuses to let himself admit that fact. All in all, Hide's entire personality is always contradicting itself, changing day to day. XX
Hideo is extremely intelligent (except when it comes to planning) and is a master of making quick decisions in the heat of battle. When fighting, he spends a good minute or two watching how his opponent attacks, memorizing patterns and using them to his advantage. He is very clever and is good at lying, and can be extremely convincing. XX
" Whenever your heart floods with loneliness, and continues to waste away; "
" Even if the future is so bright its blinding, to face it alone would be meaningless. "
Queen Ardelia said that the artifact had been found when she was a child, buried in the dirt beneath her own castle that had apparently been built atop the ruins of the old one. She gave it to him after he became one of the Divos, and with it, she gave him the name Drei, as he was the third to arrive. Since then, it has been his sole companion. XX
Hideo's activation song is completely unlike the upbeat, fast-paced music he listens to, harboring depressing undertones and a calm theme that makes it seem almost like a pre-suicide poem rather than an actual song, which isn't too far from the truth, really. The song was written by Hajime when they were first starting out as musicians, and was the song they played at their concert the night Hideo died. He chose this song as his activation song simply because its his reminder of what he did, and of his friend. XX
'Aoi Hi no Ha' or Aoi, as Hideo calls it, in its dormant state takes the form of a silver ring with a royal blue sapphire-like stone embedded in the metal. When activated, it spirals up his finger and into his palm, transforming into either a long silver sword or six small throwing knives. Hideo is skilled at using both of these and is unsurprisingly a master in the use of his artifact. He can use other weapons, but not nearly as well. XX
Of course, all power has its drawbacks. Because of his thin frame and lack of brute strength, Hide is susceptible to being overpowered by his opponents. His sword is also fragile when it comes to being hit dead-on by another weapon, and will return to its ring form if hit hard enough. His weapon cannot retain its form if his voice wavers. XX
" Am I allowed to believe that everyone can find happiness? Even me? "
Hideo was taught from a very young age that he was better than others due to wealth an status, and that he would always be more important than others people. And, since it was the only thing he'd been taught, he grew up believing this fact. He was taught by wealthy tutors and scholars instead of attending school and advanced quickly, fast to learn and fast to improve. His teachers all considered him a genius - and also a brat. XX
By the time Hideo was about thirteen, he was far ahead of most other teenagers his age and decided that his tutors no longer had anything more to teach him, especially in the matters of 'life and love', so he enrolled himself in a public Junior High school near his home. Surprisingly enough (or not, really) no one at his new school came to like Hide. They all ignored him, except for one tiny boy from his class named Sato Hajime. XX
Hajime quickly became Hideo's best friend, and since Hide could count the number of times he'd met his parents on one hand, Hajime also became the only person he truly cared about. They spent every moment of their free time together, exploring the city and playing pranks on people they didn't know. They were little brats, to say the least. XX
Their music career officially began in their third year of Junior High, when they finally grew tired of playing dumb pranks and went searching for something fun to do when they were bored. Their homeroom teacher suggested finding a club to join, and since they didn't want to hang out with anyone else, they ended up creating their own club: the Music Club. None of their peers joined simply because they were club members. XX
From then on, Hideo and Hajime put all their efforts into learning how to play different instruments and how to sing without making their throats hurt. The two placed second in the school talent show and won first place in two of their area's music competitions, quickly gaining fame from students of different schools, despite the fact they were still Junior High schoolers. Hideo's parents said nothing about his new accomplishments. XX
Hideo and Hajime's fame only grew as they moved through Senior High, and it was during this time that they began to move apart. Hideo had his growth spurt, easily becoming the main target of female students all around, and placed high above his classmates in every test that came his way. He could hit any note and could learn to play any instrument in under a week. He was a prodigy, and Hajime was definitely not. XX
Hajime was small, awkward, and struggled in school. He was constantly bullied - even when Hideo stood up for him - and easily became self conscious about his and Hide's vast differences. When Hide noticed, he did his best to reassure and comfort Hajime. XX
Their first fight took place only a week after graduation. It was late at night, after they'd had their first official concert. Hideo had unintentionally stolen the spotlight during their performance after noticing that Hajime's voice had broken due to too much practice. When Hajime confronted him, Hide argued that if he hadn't taken over, their first concert might have been ruined. As was expected, Hajime was hurt by this statement. XX
Hide had regretted his words immediately after saying them, but before he could apologize, Hajime had stormed off, announcing his retirement from their band and telling Hide to never talk to him again. It was an overreaction, to say the least, but Hide took it to heart, and decided that without his only friend, there was no need for him to live. And so, he threw himself from the concert hall's roof, dying a couple minutes later. XX
When Hideo awoke next, he found himself standing in front of a beautiful black flower, the area around him shrouded in darkness but somehow still light enough to see. "Do you want to continue singing?" It was such an ominous question, and although he hardly wanted to sing without his best friend by his side, he accepted the offer, and became one of Queen Ardelia's Divos, as well as the wielder of the 'Blade of Blue Fire'.
