She has been beaten count-less times by her boss because he finds her worthless. Her background story isnt very long because most of her life has repeated itself over and over everyday, wake-up, get ready, leave, walk 5 miles to town, get yelled at by boss, cut down tree's, lunch break consisting of a hot meal the elderly woman with no family makes for her, go back to work, get yelled at by boss, work again, get ready to go home, get beaten by boss, walk home, tend to wounds and sleep. That is what her life consisted of. But not all was glum to Carter for she had two people who actually loved her and cared for her. Carter's 12 year old brother Samuel and her 8 year old brother Alex, they both lived with her older brother, Liam and older sister Nicky but they offend visisted Carter when they got the chance.
RP SAMPLE:
Pattern's of light shone on my outstretched hand as i lay on a thick oak branch. The thick green leaves let very little sun through their dense foliage but the light rays they made it through warmed my skin as they danced on my pale hand. The forest was quiet only the songs of singing birds and twigs cracking under a deer's hoof could be heard and it made me sigh as the peaceful aura washed over me, healing the mental wounds of my last beating.
"Carter!" the high pitched squeak of my 8 year old little brother Alex broke through my tranquil place and surprised me enough to make me fall from my crook in the tree and fall to the ground, landing hard on my stomach as an unattractive grunt of pain escaped my lips. I looked up to see Sam and Alex hovering over me, concern blanketed their soft boyish feature's, their blue's eyes glistened with fear and worry.
"I'm fine, now what is it you want so badly that you had to ruin my me time?" I asked playfully and I got up from the forest floor, leaves and twigs now tangled in my untamed light curls. Alex squealed happily knowing i was alright but Sam still held concern on his features.
"Are you sure your ok? Nothings broken right?" he asked wearily and i kissed his forehead and smiled down at him for his over-protective concern.
"And i thought i was the older sibling here" I teased and his face lit up and they both engulfed me in a tight hug.
"we just came to tell you that the reaping is tomorrow and you have work off so you can come" Sam said, his tone was filled with uneasy and worry again.
"Carter?" he asked and i looked down into his deep blue eyes. Eye that belonged to our mother, eye's that i always find myself being pulled into because of the deep dark depth's of the iris.
"Ya?" I asked and his small arm's tightened around my waist, Alex had let go and was now digging in his brown coverall pockets.
"If you get picked tomorrow just....just....promise us you will come back!" Sam cried out, big crocodile tears now running down his plump pink cheeks. I looked over to see Alex with the same big tears and pink cheeks. He was holding something dirty and square in his small hands. He handed it to me and I looked at it and relieved it was a picture of the 3 of us when we were younger, a week before i was kicked out. I kneeled down and looked them both straight in the eye, their eye's were almost actually the same Alex's were just a bit lighter.
"I promise"
"Over with the Capitol!"
