Appearance:
Sophie has warm brown eyes and soft brown hair that comes down just below her shoulders. She is relatively short, only 5'1''. Sophie is incredibly skinny and slender, with long arms and small hands. She wears relatively simple clothing, usually a skirt and a solid colored shirt when she isn't painting. When she is painting, she wears paint-splattered jeans with a simple black T-shirt, and her hair is tied back in a low ponytail. At first sight, Sophie seems like a kind, warm-hearted and happy person, but inside she feels sad and lonely.

Personality

Sophie never gets around much. She is afraid to go outside, and she can't relate to other people very well. She is an extremely gentle and caring person, but she can be hurt and broken easily. Having never had a constant source of support and encouragement, Sophie is often uncomfortable and nervous when around other people. She is always self conscious and is never sure how to act, so situations can get pretty awkward. Often times Sophie wishes she could just blend into her surroundings. Sophie tries to stay positive, but she still feels hollow inside, like she was born with a hole in her chest. The only time she is ever truly happy and free to be herself is when she is painting, left alone to create her own world with her fingers.

History

Sophie's father died when she was 3-years-old. Ever since then her mother has been taking care of her. Her mother tries her best, but ever since her husband died, she has never been the same. And when Sophie went blind, it was as if something in her mother broke in half. She never smiled anymore, and was constantly depressed. It is because of this that Sophie has felt so alone all her life. Without her mother's support, love, and encouragement, Sophie has been left all alone. Her mother tries her best to give Sophie a normal life and to be a good parent, but she doesn't have the energy or the will to move on after all that has happened. Sophie and her mother own a small pottery store next to an abandoned antique shop. Here, Sophie is able to paint, relax, and be happy for a short while.

Sophie felt around, her fingers brushing the rim of each cup. There it was! The 3rd cup always held blue paint. She gathered quite a bit onto her finger and spread it lightly on the paper in front of her. Swirl... down... right... She gradually began to feel lighter, happier even as she put her finger to the page. This is all I need. I don't need anything else. Art is my world. Art is my life. If I could paint on forever like this, I know I would be happy. She felt for the wet rag she used to dry her fingers off with. As she cleaned off the blue paint, she felt Brutis rub up against her leg. She bent down to pet him. "Hi Brutis. How are you? I bet you're being a good kitty, aren't you?" After a few seconds, Sophie turned back to her easel, ready to continue painting, hoping that her fingers were putting the image in her head down on the paper.
