Gracie is a very beautiful girl, but, unlike most girls, she doesn't really
feel self conscious and is comfortable in her own skin. Gracie has long brown, curly-
ish hair that she usually pulls up so it appears very short and green eyes that
sometimes look a bit grey. She is quite petite, only about 5'4". She is very skinny
and just generally small. Besides freckles, Gracie's face is quite clear. Her skin
is somewhat pale, not that she doesn't go outside, it is just that she never
seems to tan well.
Gracie has never been to interested in fashion, for dressing up has never
been something she enjoys, but she dresses fashionably anyway. She
often wears dresses of lighter colors like white or a dull pink. For major
events she wears brighter colors, like vibrant reds and blues. Her favorite
color is a dark purple. She often wears hats to cover her hair, because
it gets very tangled on occasion. She, on very rare occasions, has been known to
wear trousers, to her family's great annoyance. Gracie is usually modest, not ever
really meaning to be immodest.
Personality:
Gracie has as many different faces as a die. (Dice, if you don't say it like that. I
normally don't ;D) She usually tries to appear a kind, sweet, loving, and innocent
girl, which she is, but she hides the fact that she is easily jealous and bitter. Her
worst fear is that Nicholas is going to leave her, since he has already forgot her
due to some sort of amnesia. Gracie is independent yet clingy. She is always
determined to do things herself, but often wants someone around to talk to.
Gracie can be charming, a very lively and fun girl who settles down enough
to make a great impression. But she looks out for herself just a bit too often
making her appear almost selfish sometimes, which she sort of is. Gracie
is also very cunning, witty, and smooth talking. If it weren't for her gentle
spirit, she could as well be a mob boss. She won't tell you if she really dislikes
you, not to spare your feelings, she just has a habit of storing up her hate instead
of working it out.
Gracie is not needy, as some believe she is. She is quite capable of taking care of
herself. Whenever she speaks, she speaks politely, adressing women "Ma'am" and
men "Sir". Truthfully, Gracie does not know if she is quite ready for marriage, but
she is terrified that Nicholas will slip away if she doesn't hurry because she loves
him too much to lose him. Her mother and grandmother pushed her to this
conclusion.

Gracie Hops, (She never understood where the habit of people using her middle name came from, but she never addresses herself that way.) was born to parents Maria and George Hops on a small plantation in London, England. She was raised there, her father in the army, always away, and her mother and grandmother, who lived on the plantation, tried to push her to be elegant, something she was not. They told her she had no time for writing and reading so they refused to teach her, so she went to her older brother, Marcus. Marcus taught her eagerly, for he wanted to be a professor someday and was glad his sister wanted to learn also. Gracie tried to ignore her female elders and she spent most of her time with her brother. Eventually, Gracie was not allowed to continue her studies by the law of her mother, and the obedient Marcus had no option but to oblige.
Gracie's life was dull until the age of twelve when she found a note addressed to her mother. Curious, she opened it to find a note that said her father, George Hops, had been killed in battle. Devastated because she had never really met the man, she became depressed and stopped fighting her mother and grandmother, stopped writing, stopped trying to spend time with her brother, stopped reading, and just became her mother and grandmother's toy. Although Maria Hops was saddened by her husbands death, the sudden change in Gracie took her mind off the pain of her loss. Even Gracie's grandmother, George's mother, was distracted by the obedience of Gracie. Gracie soon grew to dislike her mother and grandmother, hiding up her bitterness inside. But, when she was thirteen she was introduced to a boy who lived nearby by the name of Nicholas. Gracie grew to fancy Nicholas, although she had no idea if he her. But, soon after they had met he had a horrible accident, giving him amnesia and making them quite distant.
In more recent events, Gracie is now practically a puppet for her mother and grandmother. Her beloved brother, Marcus, joined the army, giving up his dreams of becoming a professor to follow in their father's footsteps. And Gracie... Well, Gracie is just Grace.
