Personality:
Liu is quiet and seems to always be disinterested in anything that goes on around him. He has several phobias due to his kidnapping and his step-mother. He will not go anywhere near dark, enclosed or confined places, scared to the point of going into panic attacks and hyperventilating if he is told to go inside to get something from inside or just to go inside. His fear of women is small and causes him to just be overly cautious around them, always being on his guard and making sure he knew their whereabouts at all times. He also tends to avoid going near anything or wearing anything that could be used to bind or tie him up.
Liu is always carrying a lighter around in his pocket, letting the flame burn when he's stressed or going into a panic attack, the small flame, helping to calm him down. He is calm around fire due to the fact that a large fire was what had saved him from his kidnappers. He often has headphones over his ears, whether he's listening to music or not as it blocks out unwanted noises and keeps people from talking to him. If his headphones aren't over his ears, they are around his neck for another form of comfort. He isn't the strongest, but he will attempt to help his friends if they need him to do so.
History:
Liu is the only son of a very wealthy businessman who had acquired close to two hundred million dollars in his company. When Liu was five years old, he was kidnapped by his step-mother's lover to get more of his father's money before they killed him. Liu was kept bound in the small, dark basement of the man's house, tied to a post to keep him there. He was locked up in the basement, given a food and water every other day, for just under two years. His father wouldn't pay the ransom, and kept the police looking for him the whole time, not willing to give into the kidnappers demands. During this time, Liu was abused constantly by his step-mother and her daughter. A week before he would've been locked up for two years, his step-mother's lover's son was cooking and left the stove on, tossing the towel on top of it when he left to hang out with his friends. The towel caught on fire, causing the rest of the house to do so as well. When the firemen came, they broke down the basement door to make sure that no one was inside the basement for some reason, and found him close to blacking out.
When he came too, his father was there sitting next to his hospital bed and immediately hugged him. Liu explained everything that happened to him to the police and his father - who got a divorce from his wife. Liu and his father went to a circus to celebrate his safe return. When Liu was watching, he saw the fire-breathers and watched them with great fascination. He had already discovered that he felt safe and calm around fire, his father knowing as well and let him carry a lighter around with him to calm him down when needed. He decided that he wanted to try fire-breathing but never got the chance until he was sixteen. His father died of lung cancer and left him everything. Liu decided that now was the time to try to follow his dream and headed off to find a circus that would accept a sixteen year old as a fire-breather.
