a character in “The Cousin”, as played by The*Lucky*Teacup

Description

Name -

Sumina "Sumi" Crest

Image
Image

Age -

17

Role -

Cousin's assistant (F)

Gender -

Female

Weapons -

A chainsaw

Appearance -

She has a very cold look to her, and yet very serious, with her snow white long hair and all black outfit. She wears an all black dress and then a black thick jacket for warmth. She has very pale skin and green striking eyes, but that's also matching to her wolf form too, keeping those two forms similar. However, like they say, don't judge a book by it's cover...

Personality -

Sumi is actually a very kind girl and very caring. To those who she can trust, or who Lucas trusts, she can be a very friendly girl. She speaks with a quiet and calm tone, one that may be soothing to those with stressed thoughts. She's a very keen listener and one who's got a good eye. She can be a great friend. However, to those who she's untrusting to, she can be silent. But... she can also be booming. When there's someone out to attack Lucas or his friends, then she is brutal. She'll either transform into a blood thirsty wolf, or out comes the chainsaw and things become bloody. She's very protective and won't hold back on those she cannot trust. Of course, if Lucas tells her to do things, she'll do it, but she has her own personal way of doing things that she may want to do and will try to hold back, especially if she's told not to do something...

Now, as for the blood thirsty wolf... Sumi has this certain ability to change her teeth and claws, make ice cold claws and teeth which when dug into the skin of another creature can cause frost bite and hypothermia. Sumi found this incredibly useful when attacking others and more often than not have left people more pale than her snow white fur. She also developed a very sensitive sense of smell and hearing, bringing her wolf senses to become even stronger. Since she seemed to become a snow based creature, it was easy for her to survive in chilling weathers meaning her herself probably wouldn't catch hypothermia in her wolf form. However, the downside to this transformation is that the smell of prey could sometimes get the better of her. When she smells blood of something, even in her human form, she can often have urges to feast upon the new meat, the new prey shoved her way. When she gets like this, wolf instincts get the better of her, her pupils get smaller, and she'll become a blood thirsty monster. She's gotten better over the years, sure. But, Sumi sometimes just can't control herself...

Bio -

Sumi has always been a shapeshifter. For most of her younger years she used to switch into her wolf form randomly because she felt more freedom like that. Her parents were both very considerate and caring about her, they would treat her like a wolf would treat it's cub, all the love and affection in tact. However, when Sumi was about 10 years old, her family's shack was attacked by a group of goblins when they couldn't pay for things such as food and water. Sumi's mother hid Sumi within the woods, but however both died after being harshly mauled and ripped apart. For about six years, Sumi had to look after herself. She had to get her own food and protect herself in fights. She'd earnt quite a few battle scars, but within this time period, Sumi developed her abilities that came with her wolf form, which helped in fights and such...

It wasn't that long ago, when she was about 16, when Sumi attacked a Succubi with her frost bite and then ran away wounded, blood staining her white fur. However, catching her off guard, the siblings of that Succubi attacked her and was bringing her close to death, when the person who she now assists leapt out of the trees and fended off the creatures. Lucas had helped Sumi, and for that act of kindness Sumi was eternally grateful, as no one had ever helped her apart from her parents. She told Lucas that she wished to assist him in any way possible, and that's just what she became. She moved and lived with Lucas, soon becoming a loyal friend and protecting him in any way possible.

"Thank you, and good day to you!"

The quiet calm voice was emitted from the pale teen girl exiting the small supermarket on the main street, a tranquil dainty smile on her lips as she waved the shopkeeper off and carried out her shopping bags. After Lucas had told her that his cousins were coming to visit, Sumina could only assume that he was doing this for if something terrible happened to him. She sighed. These girls were not from around here. For all they knew, the two girls would just get traumatized from this new experience of killing creatures who look vaguely human most of the time. Sure, most people in the town were used to it, but she couldn't help but have her doubts... That was why she'd gone into town to try and find things they may have liked with the regular shopping things. Pizza, and some sort of hot chocolate mix. Oh, and mini marshmallows. And whippy cream. Sumi didn't quite know these girls, or how their day would be learning about 'monsters', but was hoping that even if it didn't go well, she could try and remind them that they did have some humanity in this town, and try to keep them from having a mental breakdown. Just... as long as none of them started bleeding really badly. If that happened... She shivered at the thought, but straightened her black dress out and started walking down the main street, wondering what Lucas was up to and if the cousins had arrived yet...

Lucas drove back to his house slightly jitty from thr incubus. They made it home without any more problems and he drove his jeep into the driveway and out it in park. He looked at the girls. "Okay Ill be in the basement for a little bit both of you get inside and don't go outside. One of my assistants will be coming home soon if anything happens she is in charge. " he opened the door and walked inside wanting to get the rebels marked before he went to sleep.

He went inside and quickly walked downstairs and plugged his radar into the computer. He selected the pictures and started to run them across every vampire in the region. He had to hand select all of them and decide who was who. It would usually take about fifteen minutes for one and since he was doing four it was gonna take a bit longer. He also wanted to check out the incubus he saw so he could know who it was if he attacked either of the girls.

"Lucas!?" Sumi yelled out as she walked into the house, keys jangling a little as they hung in the keyhole and swayed to and fro. "Are you okay? I could hear you yelling from a mile away..." she closed the door and locked it behind her, having seen the incubus run into the woods, she was a little concerned about what had happened whilst she was gone. "Have your cousins got here yet?" she asked, walking to the kitchen. "I got pizza and hot chocolate because that's what kids Always seem to like in the movies. I don't know if they actually like them or what, but you know whateve- Lucas, where are you?" Sumi put the bags on the counter in the kitchen and then folded her arms together. She was concerned, what if something had just happened and he was seriously wounded. Her tone got louder and a bit more worried. "Lucas? Are you okay? Lucas!?"

Lucas poked his head up at the sound of Sukkot shouting his name. He calmed himself then started to walk upstairs. She was always one to worry but it didn't bother him it was what kept him inside his limits, her constant worrying about him. He locked the basement back and walked up to see his assistant shouting. "Hey I'm fine don't worry and they're here and I was yelling becaus an Incubus has his sights set on the older one not sure where she is now though but Elatha is upstairs she is taking it surprisingly well Ill get her. " he walked upstairs calmly trying to think of something to calm down Elatha.

He made it to her room and knocked on her door lightly. "Elatha you okay in there. Uh, sorry about before Im just trying to keep you and your sister safe. Here can you come downstairs I want you to meet my assistant she's a bit curious about you as well. " he said tryng to calm her down but he wasn't entirety sure it would work.

Elatha looked up from her pillow, towards the door where she heard the knocking. "Elatha, you okay in there? Uh, sorry about before... I'm just trying to keep you and your sister safe. Here, can you come downstairs. I want you to meet my assistant; she's a bit curious about you as well." She was done crying now and wiped her eyes. It had been a long, hard day and did ned to unwind a little. "Okay," she called back, "I'm coming. Just give me a minute." Then she got up and changed into her PJs. She'd always have a weakness for cute PJs and these were light pink with yellow roses and lavander butterflies on a tanktop and shorts. They were really soft too, which she liked alot.

Leaving her room and switching off the lights, Elatha went right to the bathroom and washed her face. Her sister rarely gave her good advice, and most of it was on beauty, but once in a while she struck gold with Elatha. She remambered after a particularly bad cry, her sister told her "When you cry, because all girls cry, wash your face with water. It'll calm you down." Then she went on a rant about how awful it was to cry with makeup on and then about reapplying it afterwards, but Elatha took that advice to heart and had been following it ever since. Drying off her face, Elatha did feel much better and took a feel deep breathes before pulling her hair back into a loose ponytail and heading downstairs.

Sumi let out a long sigh when Lucas confirmed he was okay and calmed slightly. However at the next note of the incubus there for the reason of his cousin didn't exactly brighten her day. She frowned, filling the kettle with water and switching it on. She'd have to remember to go out tonight and see if she could sniff out the damned thing, maybe she'd get to use her chainsaw again... Although it was tempting, maybe not. She doubted that he would have any gold or silver on him, so using her other form should be just fine.

Sumi took off her jacket and hung it on a hook, letting her long white hair down and then letting out a gentle sigh. She felt nice and cool now, and it calmed her. Maybe these girls were t like Lucas. Lucas was serious faced but deep down just really considerate and caring. Not that she didn't hope that they were t considerate and caring, but perhaps they were more happy and cheerful. She smiled gently, hearing the floorboards of the stairs creak slightly from footsteps going down the staircase and livened up, smiling gently as she awaited the new face.

Elatha tiptoed down the stairs, trying to be inconspicous, but they squeaked alarming anyone what happened to be near of her presense, so she gave up and came down the stairs normally. She was feeling better after washing her face as it made her feel alot more calm. She was even more cheerful at the thought of someone new! Lucas had mentioned his assistant who was possibly as eager to meet Elatha was Elatha was to meet her. Although Lucas had neglected to mention his assistant's name... oh well! Elatha would find out soon enough.

Going down the stairs she stopped half way, peering into the living room, spotting another girl. She looked to be a little older than her sister with long, beautiful, pure white hair and kind looking smile. Elatha thoughts immedietely went to how pretty her hair would be if she could braid little, multi-colored beads into it; but Elatha had to set those triffe thoughts aside for now. She remained there for a moment, staring at the girl with her own large, innocent blue eyes. "Hello..." Elatha greeted quietly, her voice soft, "Are you Lucas' assistant?"

Sumi looked up to the young 12 year old, smiling at her shy voice and long dark blonde hair with a ribbon tied within it. She was a cute young thing, and she sounded just as shy as she once was. She'd broken out of her shell when she had to, but this one, well... It may have to come with this job Lucas was putting on her shoulders. It was a shame really...

"Oh, yes, I'm Lucas' assistant. One of them anyway." she said softly and with a smile as she made her way to the bottom of the staircase. "Hello. I'm Sumina. Though you can call me Sumi." she gave her a gentle nod of the head and then tilted her head up at the girl. "Are you Elatha?" she asked, wondering if she were the older one or the younger one. She'd heard the older one was closer to her age, so if this was Brooklyn, she looked incredibly young for her age.

"Hi Sumina..." Elatha watched as the girl with the white hair, Sumi, walked to the base of the stairs. She smiled a little bit bigger when Sumi guess her name right and nodded. "Yeah, I'm Elatha. Brooklyn is my big sister." In all honestly, Elatha wasn't normally very shy. She was completely out of her shell with her sister and her friends back home, but when it came to meeting new people she was a little shy. Once people got to know her thought Elatha was more than happy to open up and share her life with them.

Elatha's eyes examined Sumi's hair and she smiled a bit brighter. "You're hair is really pretty. I wish my hair was as pretty as yours." she said in a little more of a friendly, but still a quiet voice. Suddenly her smile faultered as an idea came through her mind. "Are you a human?" Elatha asked, eyeing Sumi with caution. Lucas obviously trusted Sumina enough to let her in and let her be his assistant, so Elatha sort of trusted her too. But she still wanted to know exactly who and what this new, potential friend was.

Sumi smiled at the compliment about her hair, about to thank the girl for it before she came out with the next statement. "Are you a human?" Her face dropped a little, but she held on dearly to the kind smile, trying to not frighten the girl anymore than possible. "Uhm, not exactly. But I would hope that I wouldn't be classed as a monster either." she laughed quietly. "I'm a shapeshifter. I can shift into the form of a snow wolf. But don't worry, I don't go into that form unless I have to." Her smile grew slightly and she pushed some of her hair out of her eyes, before resting her hands on the front of her dress, glancing into the kitchen.

"Uhm, I bought some hot chocolate, cream and marshmallows for you guys. I heard that most humans like it." she shrugged a little. "I can only imagine the stress you've gotten from today. I mean, our town is a weird one." she laughed a little, and then tilted her head. "How are you feeling? I mean, I can understand if you're scared."

Elatha's small smile returned. "You're not a monster." she said, tilting her head slightly to the side, "You're... special." Then she came down the stairs all the way so that she stood infront of Sumi. "It's cool that you can be a wolf. I like wolves; they're nice to draw. Especially white wolves; they are very pretty." She offered a slightly brighter smile as Sumi said, "Uhm, I bought some hot chocolate, cream and marshmallows for you guys. I heard that most people like it." Elatha felt herself get excited. Sugar and sweets were two of her favorite things and she nodded with a big smile when Sumina offered them. "I can only imagine the stress you've gotten from today. I mean, our town is a weird one. How are you feeling? I mean, I can understand if you're scared." Elatha appriciated Sumi's caring nature and even laughed a little bit.

"Scared? Well, I can easily tell your town is a little... off." she said with a little giggle, "I mean, on the very first day of summer I've gotten my own gun, killed a vampire about my age, burned four bodies (one of which stood up and tried to eat me for a second time), meet an incubus who likes the nightsky and a shapeshifter who can turn into a snow wolf." Elatha laughed, "Your town is definitally strange, but it's not scary." Elatha was feeling much more open around Sumi. She liked having someone to talk to; someone who wanted to make sure she was feeling alright. It made Elatha feel more at home in this strange new place. Speaking of feeling good; "Um, could we go get that hot chocolate now?" she asked with a hopeful little smile.

Sumi smiled at the girl. "I'm glad you do not see me as a monster. And of course we can." she grinned at the girl, before leading her into the kitchen. "I must confess, you sound more excited than anything." It made Sumi chuckle a little. "You are certainly an extraordinary girl. Though I can now see how yourself and Lucas are related." she smiled and then listened to the kettle whistle, picking it up and pouring it into two cups, holding hot chocolate powder and soon filling with brown bubbly liquid.

"Do you draw?" she asked, realising she had said wolves were fun to draw. "I've never heard a comment like that before Elatha. It's a funny thing you should say." she commented, pouring whippy cream on and then opening the marshmallows. She smiled to the girl. "If you like, I woul let you try drawing me in my wolf form. There's some truly beautiful views in this town that would make amazing backdrops." she held out the mug of hot chocolate to the girl with a tower of cream and sprinkled with mini marshmallows.

Lucas was happy and eavesdropping from the top of the stairs that Sumi and Elatha were getting along. Of course he knew they would since anyone who relitively knew him was a friend in her eyes. He went down stairs and checked on the town again. He saw nothing out of the usual and flipped off the moniter. He reached for his uzi but didn't take it. He walked through the living room unarmed then turned to the girls. "I'm gonna go for a ride. If anything Sumi you know where the guns are. " he said a smirk on his face as he walked out onto the porch to see Brooklyn sighing. "Hey I'm gonna go for a ride around town for a bit you wanna go? " he said trying to get rid of her skeptisism of the town.

Elatha grinned at the completment (she loved it when someone thought good of her), feeling very happy that someone thought she was 'extraordinary'. She watched as Sumi made the coco and listened at she spoke. "Do you draw?" Sumina asked her, before going on by saying, "I've never heard a comment like that before Elatha. It's a funny thing you should say. If you like, I woul let you try drawing me in my wolf form. There's some truly beautiful views in this town that would make amazing backdrops." Sumi offered with a smile and Elatha nearly leapt from her chair in excitement. "Yes! Oh boy, would I ever-" Elatha slapped a hand over her mouth, her face turning red in embarressment as she realized she was being very, very loud.

"I-I mean... yes, please." she said a little softer with a sheepish smile as she reatched out and took the cup. It was hot to the touch and warmed Elatha's hands right up. She picked off one of the mini-marshmellows of the sky-high heap of whipped cream and popped it in her mouth as Lucas walked in and anounced he was going for a drive before leaving again. Had he been there the whole time? Elatha didn't think it mattered, though he seemed a lot happier now. She looked at Sumi again and lipped the whipped cream happily, chewing a marshmellow she had caught. "Thank you the dessert," Elatha said to Sumina, then offered meakly, "M-Maybe I can braid beads in your hair... you know, if you wanted..."

Sumi nodded to Lucas, hoping that nothing would happen that Lucas was hinting at, but saying not even managing to respond as he had already walked out. She sighed, though still smiled. That guy had a fast-moving mind, always moving forwards. Like a shark. It amused her sometimes, but also worried her too. The amount of times she'd waited up just to make sure he came home safe was actually remarkable.

She turned back down to Elatha, smiling gently to her again. "You're welcome Elatha, and beads?" she'd never really heard of people threading beads into other peoples hair. It wasn't really something she had ever tried. "Well, I'd be happy to find out what it's like to have beads threaded into my hair, young friend." she smiled lightly to the girl and nodded gently. "I would like it very much of you would do that for me." she commented happily, picking up a marshmallow and sniffing it, before popping it into her mouth.

Elatha smiled, glad Sumi had taken to the idea. Some people would have thought it was weird but Elatha loved to do it (although she couldn't for the life of her do it on her own hair. Back when she and her sister were still kids, Brooklyn used to let Elatha weave beads in her hair, until that is she decided that beads were (actual quote) "Childish, immature and totally clash with every style in existance". Elatha was pretty sure she could disprove that claim but had been too hurt and upset at the time. Elatha realized she had been staring at her cup, having zoned out at the memories, and quickly snapped her attention up to Sumina again. "So, can you tell me more about this town?" she asked, taking a sip of her cocoa, getting some on the tip of her nose.

Sumi smiled at the girl, though her question was rather vague, she didn't quite know how to respond. "Well there's... And... Uhm... What would you like to know about out town, Elatha? There is probably quite a lot I could talk about, but only some of it may be of interest to you." Sumi tilted her head at the young girl, before leaning forwards and wiping away a bit of cream that went onto her cheek. "I might have overdone the whippy cream...

Elatha giggled a little as Sumi brushed away the cream almost like a mother or a really good friend. "Well..." she began, pausing, thinking. She wanted to know just about everything about this town. After all, she'd be staying here for the next couple of months; she may as well know about this place. "I guess the first thing I should ask is if the entire town is full of supernatural. Are Brooklyn and I the only ones here or are there humans too? And what other types of supernatural are there? I know there are vampires in Sector V. I'm going to assume you aren't the only shapeshifter around. Ummm, I know that there are incubi so I'm going to assume that there are sucubi around town to..." she trailed off, hoping Sumi would continue her observation.

"You're right, there are sucubi too. Though since you're females, you're more likely to encounter incubi around here." she smiled gently to Elatha and then leant back against the counter. "There are other humans located around the area too. But since this town is mostly inhabited with the 'supernatural' creatures, they are more cautious and less likely to strike up a friendly conversation, and more likely to point a gun to your head. I would just keep to whatever advice Lucas had given you." she recommended, before becoming thoughtful.

"You're also correct about shapeshifters. Though not all develop from the wolf bloodline. It's mainly all large animals." she seemed to look thoughtful herself. "However, although it may seem that they just shift into animals, they also develop amazing abilities." she scratched the back of her neck tensely at thinking about one of the traits that came along with her other form and decide to discuss it no further. It was one thing that, she could confess, made her feel like a monster.

"The only other creatures you must've not encountered are goblins." Sumi said, changing the topic quickly. "Now, there's two type of Goblins. There's a small, clever type which tend to run most of the small shops and market stalls. They have a tendency to try and scam you out of your money. The Second type is a bulky strong type. They're a bit more... Fiesty." she frowned slightly. "In my opinion. They're the worst things that live around here. They're terribly hard to fight with thick skin and a vicious attitude. I'll leave it to Lucas to take you into more detail with it though. Just... I wouldn't approach a goblin alone..." Sumi frowned slightly. It was obvious, she wasn't a big fan of being a monster among many, but it wasn't like she could help it...

((Welcome back Kyren!))

Elatha listened intently as Sumi spoke. She found her comment about the gender ratio of the sucubi and incubi she was likely to see. Honstely she couldn't imagen anyone walking up and flirting with her but whatever. It might be flattering, although if she stuck with her sister all the incubi would likely flock to the model sibling without a second glance at Elatha. Again, that was totally okay with her. She also felt better when Sumi said that there were other people, human-people, in town despite the fact they would probably threaten her life. It was understandable why. Elatha took another swig of her yummy cocoa, chewing the fluffy marshmellows as Sumina went on.

The comment above various other shape shifter bloodlines fasincated Elatha and she wondered exactly how many types where in existance. Although Sumi seemed to be eager to move away from the topic of shape shifter's special powers, moving on quickly to the subject of goblins. Elatha decided not to press the girl for information as it would probably be rude and maybe even offensive. The way that Sumina talked of the first type of goblins was in annoyance, but the second type she actually sounded fearful of. As she described the second type of goblin Elatha smiled sightly, "It sounds like the Increidable Hulk." she said with a small giggle.
