Emily Vetress's Story

Emily was sitting in the dream world Connor was doing his own thing tonight Emily and Lala were sitting together watching him on his own little adventure. Emily enjoyed watching Connor be happy she didn't really know what he was like out side of his dreams but she could only imagine that he was a amazing hero, brave, popular and everyone worships him. "Hey Treyn what's Connor doing now?" she stood back up and sat next to Lala. But all of the sudden there was a loud cracking noise behind them. Emily quickly turned around to see a large black crack in the sky. "Nightmares are here." She stared closer at this crack in the sky "What is that it's not a normal nightmare." All of the sudden it opened much larger and Emily started to float up into the air. She looked over at Lala and she was floating with her up into the air she reached to grab Lala but they both were sucked into the crack leaving the dream world.

Emily sat up in a hot sweat. She looked around frantically her ears perked up. Her nerves calmed when she saw Lala laying down next to her but she still didn't know where they were. She stood up and looked around she was in a bed room Lala was still asleep and so was whoever was in the bed. She decided it would be better to leave the room and not wake any one up yet. She opened the bedroom door witch lead into a kitchen she smiled. "What a nice place to end up in." She glanced around the room there was a small tv on the counter and a calendar above the oven. She walked over to the calender "June 14 2024!?" She was confused normally the date was empty in the dream world it caused stress to know what day it was. She turned around and herd a bang on the door.

She opened it up and saw a boy ride away on his bike and a news paper on the doorstep. The neighbor hood was amazing lights everywhere the sun was so bright. The houses were separated evenly and they all looked similar no creativity. That disappointing her what world would have no creativity. Then Emily looked down and saw the paper she picked it up and read the title. New threat approaches in our small city of Lipton Mississippi. She didn't really think much of it she was more worried of where she was. She threw the paper on the counter and started to search around for evidence of who that person was in the bed.

Connor dreamt soundly in his sleep. He was dreaming about fighting, not exactly sure what it was but he knew it was evil in his mind. He swung a few times with his sword angering the beast. He then quickly grew wings and flew up and slashed at it's eye blinding it. The beast squeeled and slammed it's fist into him but Connor held it up using his emmense strength. Truley in this world he was a suave, brave, strong, hero on the opposite to his real life. He heard a whooshing sound and saw a crack. He was immediately whisked inside and he was awoken.

He woke up in a cold sweat panting. "Oi" he said between breaths and he clutched his chest wanting to go back to sleep. He looked at his alarm clock which read 5:16 a.m. He had a good two hours until school but he might as well get ready. He jumped put of bed wearing only a blank white t-shirt and a pair of black gym shorts. He never went to sleep naked nor in his boxers because of him always getting too cold in his sleep.

He went towards the door but noticed a girl asleep when he started to walk out. He knelt beside her and immediately noticed the ears. He tried to pull them off but they seemed to be glued or something so it was best to leave them alone. He shoved her abit. "Hey wake up" he said nudging her but he stood up at the sound of movement coming from the other room.

He opened the door and crept inside to see a girl with pointed ears and a tail. He raised an eyebrow and walked inside. "Um h hello?" he asked shyly. "Who are you and why are you in my house?" he asked shaking slightly thinking about how two women could get inside his house and why one was sleeping on the floor in his room.

Emily opened up the fridge and saw a egg. She smiled and set them out on a plate. She stared at them for a while. "Why aren't you cooked?" All of the sudden she herd a voice from behind her.

"Um h hello?" he asked shyly. "Who are you and why are you in my house?"

She turned around quickly and instantly recognized the face of her creator. "Creator!" She jumped and grabbed his leg her tail wagging excitedly. "I don't know where I am and I'm scared! The eggs are just sitting there and..." She stood up and looked at him. He had a white t-shirt and black shorts. He was nowhere near his normal buff armor covered self. "Puny.. What type of dream is this." She looked around and shrugged. "You know who I am! I am Emily Vetress, at your service, creator." She smiled and looked back up at the boy. She stood strait up and looked around her smile went away. "Where are we..." She looked back at the boy with her creators face but not his body. Could this be a nightmare! "Who are you?" She took a step back from the boy.

Then it hit her could this be reality was that why there was a date on the calendar and the egg wouldn't just magically cook itself. She walked back up the the boy. "Please tell me where we are!" She was scared and she just wanted this boy to be her creator that is all the comfort she needed was to know that she was safe with her creator. "Please sir tell me you are my creator." Her eyes were filled with hope that he was her creator. "Please..."

Connor blushed a bright red when the girl grabbed his leg. "Creator! I don't know where I am and I'm scared! The eggs are just sitting there and... Puny.. What type of dream is this."The girl stood at about his level but she seemed much more childish. "You know who I am! I am Emily Vetress, at your service, creator." "Creator?" he said in his head.Then it hit him. "E Emily?" he kept repeating then walked forward and ran his fingers through her hair feeling her ears. They were real but he didn't get it. He made her about twelve years ago when he needed a friend and he came up with her.

"Please tell me where we are!" Connor kept looking at her amazed. She was a dream and this was reality. "I I think were in the real world. I mean you are with me, but how did you get out of my head?" he then remembered the bunny girl and it hit him as well. "Lara" he said in his head. "I I am your creator." he said then smiled. He knew he had to calm her down on account of her able to beat most things in his dreams then again he was able to beat anything in his dreams so he was unsure about her strength.

Emily's tail started to wag again with excitement. "I I think were in the real world. I mean you are with me, but how did you get out of my head?" She looked at him "I just remember a giant black crack in the sky. And then me and Lala were sucked up into the air." She looked around and picked up some salt. "Reality huh?" Emily pulled out a chair and sat down in it. "I thought you would have a bigger place than this creator?" She stood back up and walked over to the counter where the news paper was laying on. "What is this suppose to mean?" She pointed at the head line New threat approaches "Is this a nightmare?" She put it back down almost instantly forgetting about it when blaring music started playing from out side. "Oh whats that!" She ran over to the door and opened it up and saw a boy in a car playing music with no instrument!? She slammed the door. "There's a magic man out there." She whispered "I can take care of him don't worry." She grabbed a small pan from the counter and sat on the side of the door just waiting for him to walk in.

Connor was curious as hell of how she is actually in the real world. "I just remember a giant black crack in the sky. And then me and Lala were sucked up into the air." Connor pulled out another chair and sat across from her. "I thought you would have a bigger place than this creator?" then it hit him. Everything she knew about him came from his dreams. That meant she thought of him as a brave, strong, chivalristic knight. Far from his reality which was him being your average nerd with the advantage of him being smart.

"What is this suppose to mean? Is this a nightmare?" "Um no not really it's just a case of paranoia probably." he said taking it then looking it over. "Yeah it's simply about..." he saw her grab a pan and hide by the door. "There's a magic man out there. I can take care of him don't worry." Connor jumped up and pulled the pan from her grip. "No he isn't magic he's my friend Tyren. " he said then put the pan up. "Look let's play a game." he said remembering heralways being somewhat like a puppy, playful and willing. "Okay you go and hide and in a few minutes I'm gonna see if I can find you okay?" he said hoping he could hide her long enough to where he could get Treyn to go away and he could figure out why she was here and what the black crack in the sky was.

Connor grabbed the pan out of her hand and scolded her. "I'm sorry creator don't be mad." She only wanted to protect her creator not get him angry. He was definitely acting differently than her normally would. He used to be so calm and easy going but now she can't even hit a magic man with a frying pan!

"Look let's play a game." he said remembering her always being somewhat like a puppy, playful and willing. "Okay you go and hide and in a few minutes I'm gonna see if I can find you okay?"

Emily's ears perked up when she herd the word 'game' "Game game game?!?!?!" She was jumping around the room "Ok but you can't look I'm going to go hide now close your eyes!" She walked over to Connor and waved her hand in front of his face. Then she ran towards the closet. She looked back to the door then at Connor she closed the door and moved a coat in front of her. "Ok I'm ready come find me!" She closed her eyes to feel more comfortable she was scared of the dark actually terrified but she loved to play games so she would put up with the dark just for her creator. She looked threw a small crack in the door to see what was going on out side.

Connro was about to open the door when he heard a shout, “Creator! Oh, I’m so glad to see you!” Connor turned to see a girl in rabbit ears hugging him tight. She then backed off a bit and looked at him. “Why are you so… different, creator? Is this magic? Did you make yourself this… small? Was it a nightmare? Did they do this to you? Oh, you poor dear!” Connor was then constricted by the rabbit girl. “Don’t worry, me and Emily will fix this. We’ll find the nightmare that did this and bash him until he turns you back to normal. There are people outside. Should I get rid of them for you?” Connor shook his head. "No, no okay um okay me and Emily are playing a game right now. You need to go hide and I'll go look for you okay?" he said hoping she would comply. She wasn't nearly as childish as Emily but she was still playful and protective. She should comply but he still didn't know.

Emily saw everyone talking and Lala run in to Connors room. Then some other people looked like they were his friends talking to him. She gasped "Its that the little magic boy in the dream world!?" She was shocked he was much bigger and looked larger. When Connor left the house Emily jumped out of the closet and ran into his bed room. Without saying anything she opened the closet door and grabbed some cloth and threw a pair of pants at Lala. "Put those on we are gonna follow Connor." She ran out of the room and into a bathroom and began to change. She put on a baseball cap and a white T-shirt with jeans. She ran back into the room and grabbed Lalas hand and ran out threw the back. She tucked in her tail "Alright if we jump in the back car maybe they won't see us." She didn't wait for a answer before jumping over the fence and running behind the group. She slid behind the back of the car and looked around and then she jumped threw the window and lied down on the floor hoping they wouldn't see her. She peeked out the window and waved over Lala. "I'm so sneaky." She said to herself quietly.

Treyn pulled up to the dropoff point in the front of the school, "I'll catch up in a bit I need some coffee..." He drove over to the nearly empty parking lot nearby, parked the car, and turned around. He looked down at his little stowaways, "You do realize that I am not stupid, correct?" He pulled the seat down, giving them room to get up from the floorboard. He stared at them, "So, when did you get here? Huh? Who is your creator? If you are nightmares stalking Connor, so help me God, I will destroy you!" He slapped his open palm to his fist, opening the Rift, allowing him to pull out his chronamora, a dagger which is able to turn into any type of weapon you can think of. From pistols, to spears. This time he chose to keep it as a long dagger, instead of turning it into anything fancy. He waved his arms and slammed the two girls together, and held the dagger at their throats, "I will ask you one more time, what are you both doing following Connor? He is my charge, and I will defend him with my life! I have not come this far to have my teacher's plan unraveled by a couple of weakling nightmares like you! So, tell me! Who the fuck are you!" Then Treyn actually looked at them, he saw their forms and their spirits. He looked into their hearts, and into their minds, and he saw them for who they were. He then realized his stupidity. He dropped his Chrona, released them from his hold, and held them in a close embrace, "Oh, shit! I thought you guys were nightmares! I had sensed a nightmare when i got to Connor's house, and when I saw you guys hop in the back of my car, I thought it was you guys, but it wasn't you guys, you are his dreams, his creations. I am so fucking glad I don't have to protect lazy his ass all on my own anymore." He smiled at the two dreams in his arms, gave them another squeeze, and planted kisses on both of their foreheads. He beamed his brilliant smile at the two of them, his exhaustion forgotten in his moment of excitement.

Emily sat up and smiled at the boy that gave them the free ride with Connor.
"You do realize that I am not stupid, correct? So, when did you get here? Huh? Who is your creator? If you are nightmares stalking Connor, so help me God, I will destroy you!"

"Well we just go-..." She was cut off when he pushed them against the back of the seat. Her eyes widened she was terrified but he seemed to be trying to protect Connor also. He finally let them go and apologized and kissed them on the forehead. Emily stuck out her tongue she didn't like any boys except for her creator she thought they were gross. "Hey I know you! You're that small kid that follows Connor around like a puppy dog." She realized that she was a puppy dog and that was a bad example. She looked over at Lala and then back at Treyn "Can you sneak us into the school I want to watch over Connor with you?" She could smell evil and she didn't know why but there was definitely something wrong.

Treyn looked at the dreams across from him. He knew that all dreams had powers, and those powers were dictated by whatever their creator decided they were. He looked at these dreams and saw nothing but two girls in baseball caps, "If you want to come in with me we'll need to find some way to hide you both... We can't have two random girls just traipsing around the school." He ran his hands through his hair, "What has Connor given you, as far as abilities go? Besides being beautiful of course." He winked at the both of them. Treyn then picked up his Chrona, sliding it back into its sheath. He clipped it to his belt and slid his hands over it, whispering, "Out of sight" He looked up at the dreams, "Before you ask, I can't do that to you, because it only works on small objects." He smiled at the two of them. When the dark-haired one stuck her tongue out at him, he stuck his out back at her and smiled. He noticed the one with the pink hair was blushing, and he smiled at her too, though he might have let his smile linger on her for a little longer than he probably should have. He always got nervous around girls, especially cute ones, and today was no exception, he was simply good at hiding it.

Emily crossed her arms when Treyn stuck his tongue out at her. "Well I normally am super strong but I don't know if I still am." She lifter up her arm and made frown "See they are all weak." She looked over at Lala she was blushing from the kiss. Emily elbowed her to knock some sense into her. She whispered in her ear "We are here for Connor not some tiny magic guy." All of the sudden the car shook and she looked back in the window. There was a man on the back he looked happy so Emily smiled back. "Yeah I want to have fun!" She opened the door and got out. "Let's play a game! Like tag." Quickly Emily jumped out and punched him in the arm "Your it" She noticed that every one was staring at her a little oddly she just stood next to the car wondering what was wrong?

So this must have been the nightmare that he had sensed back at Connor's place, this was going to be fun. He smiled again at Lala, "I'll just be a minute. Wait here, ok?" Treyn opened the car door and stepped out of the car, "Hey fuckface! Yeah, I'm talking to you, you slimy motherfucker! What the hell do you want?" He unsheathed his Chrona, hoping for the nightmare to make a move, "I really hope that you know who you're fucking with! I've been off my groove all day! And beating some nightmare ass is exactly what I've been needing to get back on track! So, bring it motherfucker!"

"Oh, hell no..." Treyn snapped, he turned his Chrona into a glaive, and literally cut the head off of the shadow in his way. As the shadow dissipated, he charged at the nightmare, turning his Chrona into a spear. Treyn was angry, and he never got angry. There were times, of course, when he would get agressive, but he was never truly angry. However, when this nightmare insulted him by sending a weak shadowling against him, he hit his limit. He was angry, and when Treyn Erbin was angry, you just got out of his way and hoped to God that you were not the source of his anger. So, he began to vent all of his anger, all of his frustration, out onto this one singular nightmare, and it felt good. He was enjoying himself, and he hadn't even drawn blood yet. He had only been using the butt of the spear to beat this nightmare senseless. His fluid, dance-like, movements as deadly as they were graceful. "I told you not to fuck with me!", he shouted, "Nobody insults Treyn Erbin, last surviving member of the Spiral Concordant, and gets away with it!" His coup de grace saw him jump into the air, turn his Chrona into a massive warhammer, and with a flip, crash into ground on top of the nightmare. He hopped off of the nightmare, and returned his Chrona to its sheathe, leaving the unconcious nightmare in his impression in the asphalt. He threw his fist in the air, "Whoo! I needed that so bad! I haven't kicked any nightmare ass in months!" He walked back to his car and winked at Lala, "Told you I'd only be a minute. Now, what were we talking about?"

Emily was watching them fight enjoying it. When out of the corner of her eye she saw Connor threw a window. "Hey Lala there's Connor!" She started to run over there when she saw that he was talking to a girl. This girl looked familiar then it clicked to her. She was in some of Connors dreams! Emily was instantly jealous of her she would steal attention from Emily she stood out side the window staring at them both. She walked away in anger "Stupid girl taking Connor away." She walked back to the others. "I need to get in that class Treyn. There is something wrong in there and I need to protect Connor from all evil things." In her head she was thinking of the girl. Emily wasn't normally a very hateful person but she was almost like Connors daughter so she will do anything to be with him.

She got back with the rest of the group and sat on the dream boy. She poked him in the face "Hey you awake?" She looked at the others "So how we gonna get in the class?" She looked back at the building "Maybe we could just walk in?" She stood back up and walked towards Treyn "Do you think they would stop us I mean I don't know what school is like! No one dreams of school!"

Connor smiled. "Good that's the spirit" he smiled then quickly sulked down. "Fuck didn't think that through." he said sighing. He was close to tears and just realized he had probably just lost his only friend. He sighed and looked out the window to see them. Lala and Emily accompanied by... TREYN?! He didn't know why he was there or who the fourth boy was but he seemed familiar. He hoped Emily and Lala hadn't told Treyn about him nor what they were. He wondered if they would be like they were in his dreams, Emily bouncing everywhere and Lala nervously providing back support. He turned back and got lost in thought thinking about what they would do.

Treyn shrugged Emily off of his elbow, "Give me a second, I'm thinking." He ran his hands through his hair, "I got it! both of you, hold still." he slapped his open palm to his fist, materializing a long chalk stick. He started drawing a large circle at their feet, adding little flourishes here and there, indicating that it was most definately an alchemical formula. He twirled the chalk stick and snapped his fingers, poofing it out of existance. He turned to face the girls, "Alright, you should feel some slight pressure, followed by a tingling sensation as your minds get used to your new bodies." Before the girls could object he had already used his staff to stamp the ground, enveloping the girls in a flash of light. They began to shrink down, changing in form from humans to animals. Treyn had no control over their new forms, and he was anxious to see what they would become. Lala was the first to finish her transformation, becoming a white rabbit, and Emily changed soon after, becoming a cat, despite the fact that she was a dog. Treyn found it rather confusing, but who was he to argue with the mysteries of magic, "There, now I can sneak you bith into the school. You can still communicate with me telepathically if you need to, and should I need your help, it is a simple matter to turn you back." He picked Lala up and smiled as he sent his thoughts into her mind, "So what were you waying about what I normally do"

Emily spun a bit waiting to see what he did. She saw him draw a circle around them she started to giggle a bit "How is this gonna help us." She watched closely soon he was talking about a new body!? She tilted her head "What do you mean a new body?" All of the sudden she started to shrink before she knew what happened she was looking up at Treyn and when she looked at Lala she was a rabbit. Emily looked down and then she realized she was a cat! She hissed, she hated cats and now she was one. What kind of person would do that to her. She instantly started to run towards the school there was a window open. She jumped threw the window and on to Connors desk. She quickly slid off on accident and hit the ground. Emily looked around quickly she wasn't used to her new body and now she just ran away from the guy that could of helped her... Maybe she should of thought this threw but she was below Connor now so hopefully he would recognize her!

Lala watched Treyn curiously as he drew a circle around Emily and herself. She found it a bit familiar, the action itself, since she'd seen him do similar things in Connors dreams. Still, when she started to shrink it did sort of freak her out. Before she knew it she'd turned into a white rabbit. She couldnt really say she felt all too weird considering that she'd been in this form a few times. Not all that much but enough that she knew her way around it. Still, it was disconcering how easily he'd changed them. If he could do something of this level, what other things could he do? She was watching Emily run off in her own new form, a cat when she was picked up by Treyn. She directed her gaze towards him as he spoke in her mind. It felt sort of odd to be picked up but Lala could handle it if it did a service to Connor. It could be all that bad. "Well, usually you do small things in Connors dreams... really helpful things... but small nonetheless." she responded back. Looking towards where Emily had gone she shifted in her rabbit form a bit anxiously. Emily already had a head start. She did so a bit too soon but she was that much closer to watching over Connor. Lala needed to be there as well. "Um, so... shall we? Emily might need us, considering she's not all that use to being a cat... although I dont really think you should make her testy at the moment. She hates cats and you, being the one that turned her into one, well, she'd probably scratch your eyes out at this point..."
