Appearance
First glances count for a lot in most cases, but Serenaâs appearance isnât particularly attuned for piracy. If it werenât for the skull and crossbones brand burned into her shoulderblade (and the thievish grin on her face in the presence of shiny things) youâd figure her simply a wide-eyed woman whose adventures hold truth only in the many childrenâs books sheâs read. The brawling-type she ainât and with her short stature, tallness contests are only won when among Dwarven circles. A shaggy mop of chestnut hair adorns her shapely face, matching the gentle gleam of her brown eyes underneath its wild fringes.
Personality
âShe swears like a sailor⊠And I love her for it.â
The gentle facade is torn when Serena opens her mouth and shows a serious devotion to letting everyone know her vocal range and the countless ways you can say âFuck!â in Orcish; a true display of her fiery temper where boundaries are suggestions and rules are merely to be bent or broken beyond repair. The Devil may care what schemes hide behind the gentle smile and gleaming eyes. Serena is a wild one to be sure, but underneath it all lies a young heart eager for adventure and discoveries which has led her down a spiralling path of piracy.
Skills
[Cartography] - Serena has spent her days charting the known and unknown, and wonât be found without a good scrap of paper and the necessary tools to draw her own maps.
[Falconry] - An old friend once told her there is no animal more loyal than a bird that loves its owner. Serena wouldnât think less of her trusty Owl Wilthro, who has stuck with her since she first set foot on a ship.
[Acrobatics] - Youâd never guess that sailing the oceans means youâd need to have a good sense of balance. Well, you do and Serena has just that. Tightropes and other such dangerous activities are a keen task for her to entertain if only for the chance to watch this foulmouth plummet to her death at some point.
[Singer] - A fine voice sheâs got for shanties and any song youâd like to hear.
History
The bastard child of a whore and a salty pirate made life in Port Jellico the perfect breeding ground for a curious little rapscallion who wanted nothing more than to join a ship and see everything the world had to offer. A nuisance to the serious individuals trying to make a living and a fun distraction for sailors who felt like entertaining the quizzical looks of a child Serena has always had a flair for a colourful life. Looking to truly broaden her horizons, she traded the swaying ocean floor for solid land after hearing news of an expedition to some lost Dwarven city and figured such a once in a lifetime opportunity was the perfect fit for someone like herself, no? Plus, the money wouldn't hurt.
