Mia Davis's Story

Mia

I glanced at the passing figures that went through the filled corridor. All of them were new and all of them were male. Both of which happened to intrigue me. (If you went to a school for girls where all you do is search on computers and learn to kill and kick-ass then you'd be interested in it too) I had to crane my neck because I'm not quite tall enough to see over the heads of my classmates without doing so. Some of the boys were tall, most were strong and all were handsome.

One in particular caught my attention. He was about average height for a boy (maybe 6'3" which, compared to my 5'4" is tall) and had light blond hair falling into his eyes, only a shade or two darker than mine, with startlingly blue eyes. His left ear was pierced and a small white scar stood out against the pale skin on his right knuckles. He was talking to a boy that was about an inch taller than him with light brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. The brown-haired one must have noticed my staring because he nudged his friend who quickly looked up.

I widened my eyes and ducked behind one of my classmates who stared at me like I was the dumbest blond in the world. I just shrugged at her because that's how I feel.

I thought of the most intelligent thing I could do then and went off to do it.

Find my sister and go into a rant.

Jenna

"Mia, you need to chill."

"I'm a complete idiot. How can I chill?"

I rolled my eyes at my overly-dramatic sister and her new-found first crush. It's so cute! I've had to force back smiles at least four times since she came in here.

"He's just a boy, you know, he won't bite. Besides, so what if he saw you looking at him?"

"It may or may not have been more like staring."

"Staring? How intently were you staring?"

"Enough."

I couldn't help it. I burst out laughing.

"This isn't funny, Jen!"

"I-I'm sorry. It's just," I wiped my eyes clear of the tears that had fallen,"damn you screwed up."

"I know that! I think I might have drooled, I was staring so much!"

"What are you gonna do?"

"I don't know, that's why I came to you!"

I spent the whole night talking to my sister about her new "boy-interest", which is hard to do considering that she doesn't know his name, hobbies, age or anything about him except for a detailed description. And everything from before he entered Mortem because of her internet prowess.

Next Day

Jenna

I yawned and stretched out my back as far as it could go. I was sore from falling asleep on the floor rather than my bed while talking to Mia.

For a girl who doesn't talk much, that girl could talk for hours.

"Something wrong, J?"

I turned and smiled at my team captain and one of my close friends.

"Nah, I'm good. Thanks for asking R."

"Good, then get started with your warm up laps."

"Can't let those Mortem boys win, can we?"

"Not on your life," she replied as she started to jog backwards in front of me.

"What's your game plan anyway?"

"Figured we'd go with the classic," she shrugged," You, Mia, Jane, Michelle and Headmistress Marcus stay to guard while Selena, Darlene, Jamie and I go get their flag."

"You're no fun."

"I know, but I'm all the rage," she smirked before her eyebrows pulled together," Why are you so tired anyway?"

"Stayed up last night with Mia," I glanced at her before shaking my head," Some guy caught her staring at him and she was wigging out about it."

"On a scale of 1-10, how bad was it really?"

"About a 7, maybe an 8."

"That's bad."

"Yep."

Mia

I squatted further into the tree to hide from the early morning light as the sun began to rise. Right when I shuffled to the side I noticed a shimmer off to the side. Positioning my paintball gun in the direction of the shimmer I noticed that it was the boy from yesterday and an African American boy with him. He motioned for the other boy to stay where he was while he took a few steps forward. The moment that he stepped forward I shot one of the green colored paintballs at him, aimed for his chest. He side-stepped it easily.

Needless to say, I failed in Guns and Ammunition.

He raised his gun and shot it at me through the leave. I clumsily slipped away from it, causing me to fall out of the tree and right on my dairy-air. He raised an eyebrow at me before shaking his head, probably trying to figure out how I was in a school like Sanguis. He raised his gun and pointed it at me but before he could pull the trigger a blue pellet hit him in the side of the head. He shot an angry glance at who ever shot him.

Mia

"The lion has the key!"

I held my hand over the comms unit inserted in my ear as Selena whisper-yelled into it, I glanced over at Darcy and she nodded. Both of us shot in the direction of our base, leaving two boys confused and a bit dazed for barely a moment before the one who Darcy shot gestured for the other one to follow us.

I looked over my shoulder and saw that he was barely on our tail. Must be new, he isn't running very fast and he's holding his gun wrong, I thought. I snickered as he shouted for us to stop, then pretended to fall and hurt his ankle. That made Darcy laugh loudly. By the time he had gotten up and was chasing us again we were already gone.

Well, not gone but hiding in the trees with our guns pointed at his head.

Darcy

Mia was about to cave and just let this guy go when I gave her a shove towards a nearby tree. She's a good person, and that's the issue. It gets in the way sometimes. She can see, just like I can that this guy is new and has absolutely no idea what he's doing but that doesn't change the fact that right now he's the enemy.

She pointed her gun at him, aiming for his lower back. That'll hurt, I smiled a bit, too bad she's a horrible shot. The moment her gun went off I aimed mine for the base of his throat. Causing him to loose his breath long enough for us to get out of there.

Mia

It wasn't long after the scream sounded off in the cafeteria that we were all sent to our rooms. I spent the half hour we were stuck in there pacing the floor and listening to my roommate tell me to chill.

How the hell can anyone chill after someone screamed bloody murder loud enough to go over the sounds of 120 people talking then be excused without an explanation?

What is wrong with her?!

Words cannot express the relief I felt when we were told to gather in the great hall for an announcement.

That was before I heard the announcement.

Headmistress Marcus was standing at the pedestal with Headmaster Glass behind her, they both had a dark atmosphere around them and grim looks on their faces.

What's wrong?

"Students, I'm sure you're all wondering why you were excused so rashly earlier," she cleared her throat," One of your classmates, Renee White, was found murdered."

Loud murmurs and gasps went off in the crowd. I didn't really know her, I searched for Jenna because I know they were friends and I wanted to comfort her.

Where's Jenna?

"Until the killer has been found, I'm putting our school under lock down. No one leaves or enters until we find out who did this. And we will find out who did this. What the first rule of Sanguis?"

"Protect the secrets of Sanguis, protect the guild and protect your sisters," we all said in unison.

Headmistress Marcus looked at all of us with tired and sad eyes and flashed us a sad smile before leaving the room with a tissue held over her mouth. I kept up my search for Jenna while the rest of the students went off to do what ever.

Mia

I've been walking around the school for a few hours and there's no sign of Jenna. I was almost ready to give up when I saw a figure standing next to the tapestry of the Guild's emblem. She had blond hair like Jenna.

"Hey, Jen-"

The girl turned around, while she was the same build and height as Jenna with similar hair in the dim lighting, she was definitely not my sister.

"Who are you?"

Uli:
"Hey Jen-" I heard a voice behind me, I turned around quickly, happy I found a person after about fifteen minutes of wandering around.

I opened my mouth to greet her when she cut me off.

"Who are you?" she asked, and I, without closing my mouth spoke:

"I'm Uli, I-I saw about a camp or something, yeah, like an once-in-a-lifetime experience thing and decided to come, I like mysterious stuff and that, ya know?" I said quickly, stuttering a bit. The girl in front of me seemed to look for someone, but since I just arrived I decided not to ask about that, instead I asked:
"Why does this place seem so, spooky? It's kinda dark, not that I'm complaining or anything just, you know, asking." I spoke nervously.

Mia

She went off into a rant after I asked who she was. Something about her having a once in a lifetime chance of going to a camp. I raised an eyebrow at her as I looked for any of the signs of lying. When she showed one I replied to her.

"You shouldn't be here."

I think she was about to reply when there was the sound of footsteps coming down the hall. Heels. One of the girls. I don't know exactly why but I pulled on the bottom of one of the wall lamps, revealing a secret door. Grabbing the girl by the arm I made my way to someone that could help.

Lord help me.

Uli:

"You shouldn't be here" she said and I middled my eyebrows in confusion.

"But I-" I started but was cut off by the girl grabbing my arm and pulling me into something dark. I heard footsteps though the door to the room, they stopped right outside before continuing walking away from us, I turned around with wide eyes.

"What the hell? What is this type of camp?" I say in a frustrated voice. She opened her mouth but I cut her off.
"-This was in a tourist paper, that people should come in, it was with location and said "great opportunities" who's the principal of this school or camp, whatever this is?" I whisper-yelled. She has explaining to do!

Mia

I rubbed my temples in annoyance as I pulled her further into the darkness. I can't explain this. I can't do this. I need help.

"You're not supposed to be here," I repeated," We need to get you out of here-"

I didn't bother to look back at her for a response, instead I pushed on another brick that I knew would open up to one of the rooms.

"I need your help."

Moici looked up from her phone at us, or ,more specifically, Uli. I sent her a backward glance. Both were extremely confused.

Oh boy.

"I found her in the school."

I looked at her again," And she's not new."

Uli:

"And she's not new" said the girl that I stumbled upon, and the one who dragged me into this new room.

"Yeah, that's funny, what do you mean not new?" I laughed nervously, I see these people for the first time in my life, but now they're saying I'm new? My confused eyes landed on the red haired girl, she was kinda, confused? It's somewhat hard to understand their facial expressions.

"Um guys?" I said, trying to stop the awkward silence, it lasted for ten seconds, but it felt like an hour.

Jesus Christ, what is this?

Mia

I almost felt bad for the girl. Almost. There was a small part of me that was thinking that maybe she's the one that took out Renee. Then I got a good look at her face, the clear confusion and fear in her face. I had to do some serious fighting with my sympathetic side for dominance.

"Um guys?"

I turned back to her, remembering her earlier question. What do I tell her? What can I tell her?

"Welcome to Sanguis."

Uli:

"Welcome to Sanguis, is that all you can say after pulling me into this, what? Secret room?" I started becoming angry, scared too, what if they're kidnapping me?

The red head opened her mouth.

"This is a school, for girls, we're in lockdown, and you were out there, Mia" she stopped to point to the blonde girl who kidnapped me. I looked at her and twisted my mouth up in an awkward little side smile "Became curious to see what standing there, right Mia?" she said, looking at the girl with a poker face. Mia nodded. Well okay.

"Tell me something, more?" I asked with hope

Mia

"We can't," I replied to her quietly," Not until we know what to do with you."

I turned to Moici. The reason I came to her is because she's good at control, something I happen to lack in, if anyone can help me with this "issue" it's her.

"What do we do with her?"

Uli:

"What do we do with her?" Mia the blonde asked, I stared at her with anger.

"Do with me? Am I some sort of animal or toy to you?" I said, this camp sucks, first camp experience is bad, thank you...whatever this school is named.

"You know what, if you don't know what to do with me, I can do it myself, and walk out of the same door I walked in from!" I exclaimed and turned around only to face a closed door. I turned back around with annoyance showing clearly on my face.

"You're not leaving." says the red haired one, is she like a chef here?

I rolled my eyes and huffed out.

Moici blinked, looking up at the two girls who had just randomly entered her room.
"I-- Where did you come in here from? And-- And who's she?"

Moici put down her phone, turning it off and walking over to the two.

She was about to snap at them for just randomly breaking into her room, but..
"..Help? Help with what? I really wish Sez didn't have to leave just now.."
Moici sighed loudly, frowning as she crossed her arms and waited for a response.

"I'm not really too trusting of everyone right now, Mia.."

Uli:
"I'm not asking you to trust me for f*cks sake! Just tell me what the hell is going on before I call the cops! I yelled in frustration, I Kinda felt bad for doing so.

"Calm down! Jesus! I didn't even do anything!"
Moici frowned and adjusted her bow.

"There's been a murder and no one knows who or why they did it. My sister left to go...I don't know, Scooby Doo the place and left me here. I have literally no idea why Mia brought you here, but..Uh. This is a school for killing. And..Since someone got killed, not all too surprisingly, we'll be on lock down until the murderer is found out. Me personally, I really don't want to be involved until all of this is over.."

Moici rubbed the side of her neck.
"How'd you even get here?"
