Description

Image
Name:Christopher (Chris) Tallanor
Age: 20
Gender:Male
Size and Structure:
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 130 lb
Body Build: Lean build if an inch or two on the short side. Well muscled and strong, but not blatantly so.

Appearance: Chris is a strong youth in both mind and body. He exorcises every day and lives a spartan life. Despite being 20 he is a bit of a baby face and many people mistake him for being much younger then he really is. He is proud of his bright red eyes, a trait passed down from a dhampire in the family line about three generations back. Though a trace of dhampire blood flows through his veins, he is fully human. Chris is rarely found without a smile on his face and is a good natured soul. You will never see him with a drink in his hands as he views alcohol as a sin on the world. His charge Lilly though is known for having a taste in spiced wine though that he does allow to a certain extent.

Class: Paladin
Class Ability:
Strength of the Gods: Being a member of the famed Paladins of Torin, Chris has increased stamina allowing him to fight longer and notice pain less. For short periods of time, Paladins are known to be able to pull off immense feats of strength that are thought to be inhuman, but only very briefly and it leaves the paladin weary afterward.

Protective Light Magic: Chris is able to cast a small variety of protective spells that increase the ability of a person's armor to deflect attacks. This is not full proof however and with any magic there is a point to where the spell has suffered too much damage and will break. However it is useful protection all the same.

Weapon:
Chris has two weapons that he uses, a blessed spear and a blessed scimitar. Both of these weapons are simple in a appearance, neither contain in-laden jewels or intricate patterns, just good steal and simple design. Paladins are after all supposed to live humbly in service to God, though this rule is often broken and always overlooked. Regardless of their simplicity though, these weapons will never dull and never break. On top of that they are exceptionally affective against all types of dark magic and will burn any dark creature it comes in contact with. The spear he mainly uses if he is on horseback though.

Personality: Chris is probably one of the purest souls left in this world. He has sworn to follow the code's of his order and is one of the few paladin's who actually follow it to the letter. He owns little, giving most of what he earns back to the community, specifically orphanages and the poor. He is an avid believer in God and believes that all people have the ability to dedicate their lives to goodness. Having a soft spot for children, it is common to see Chris in the city streets, gathering children and telling them stories and making them laugh. An optimist and a strong believer. He does not like killing people but will if the situation demands it. He is considered to be one of the brightest up and coming paladins and has caught the eye of the leaders of his order. However, he does not follow the code to a T. Paladin's are supposed to have nothing before them but God and to leave all earthly things behind, Chris breaks this code willingly in his young companion Lilly. The order allows her to stay with him as an apprentice of sorts, but everyone knows that she's more then that. Lilly represents the one thing in this world that Chris cherishes above all else and he would readily lay down his life for her.

Home:Elden
Back-story:
Born the youngest son of nine to a wealthy Elden nobleman, Chris would never inherit much from his family and he never quite had the stomach for a politicians life. Even from an early age he hated arguing but was easily bored with scholarly work. His father, a kindly old man who used to be a member of the Order of Holy Knights, most commonly called the faithful among their ranks or Paladins among the common folk, thought that sending the boy to the church would be best for him. So at the young age of seven he was sent to the capital city of Elden to become a Paige in the Order of Holy Knights. Chris was enthralled with the stories of great paladins of old and from the first day he hit his studies with vengeance, quickly rising to become one of the most outstanding members of his class. He was praised by his teachers but was considered a show off and suck up by some of the other boys. By the time he as 10 years old he was not only at the top of his class but his life took a distinctive turn. (at this time please read over Lilly Ferranel's sheet)

Now Chris, even at this early age, was known to slip out of his studies, run into the city, and play around with other kids or help to teach them their letters, or just to tell them stories of daring knights and generally romanticize the paladin knights. On one such trips later in the year, he was visiting one of the orphanages in town where a few of his friends lived and 'discovered' Lilly for the first time. Really he just beat up a bunch of guys that were making fun of the little girl because she wasn't talking, but all the same. The little girl was quiet even for Chris and on the first day the pairs soon inseparable friendship began rather rocky. Chris being your average 10 year old, found the little quiet girl to be a bit boring. She didn't respond to his questions and though she seemed to laugh and giggle at his stories, it was impossible to tell other then a lighting of her eyes. He was told after a few weeks of this strange friendship between the two, most of it being Chris beating up those who were mean to her, he finally managed to put two and two together that Lilly was a mute. At first he felt sorry and pitty for the little girl, but he also felt some strange bit of protectiveness over little lilly. From that day forth he began to spend more and more time with the little girl and began instructing her on her letters, reading, and soon hooked her on drawing. They even began working out little hand-signs as a sort of game between them. Their relationship continued in this way for the next 2 years.

At the age of 12 Chris had risen to the top of his class as all 12 year old's do once they enter this level of the order, rose to the next level of education, the famed apprenticeship. During a young paladin's apprenticeship, every young boy and girl is chosen by a paladin who wishes to participate in the program as an apprentice. It's every boy and girls dream to be taken by some strong and brave paladin who travels the world and banishes evil in the name of God, you know, the story book kind of stuff. Many such Paladin's were looking at Chris for just that role but as fate would have it the paladin who picked Chris was the master of histories. An old man with a lame foot, a scholar who worked in the city. Chris was to be sure extremely annoyed at this but accepted his role humbly because he knew that Lilly was still in the city.

In the past two years of knowing Chris, Lilly had grown rather a lot and matured quiet a bit. She emulated her older friend greatly who protected her from the other children who would make fun of her and had taught her so much. By the time Lilly was 6, she was quiet the intelligent girl, spending her time either with Chris, or practicing her letters by reading and writing. It was also at this time that she took up drawing as a permanent hobby. However, much in part to her situation, Lilly was becoming very introverted and was picked on more and more by some of the others. Chris would always step in for her when he was there but more often then not he wasn't there anymore not that he had gotten his apprentice. As always, Lilly did a good job at attempting to hide this from Chris but it was impossible for very long. When Chris found out he was furious, not only was he furious though he simply refused to do any more work for the order. He pretty much straight up told the order that if they didn't take Lilly in, he would leave the order. This kind of obstinacy was not allowed in the Order but because of Chris's unique standing as the brightest pupil they had received in years, they did not wish to see him quit. So they Order gave in to the apprentice's wishes and took the small six year old in. However the agreement was that because Chris has believed he had special privileges to tell the order what they can and can't do, then he had the special responsibility of taking care of the little girl. It was in this day, shortly before Chris's 13th birthday that he found himself in the unique position of Lilly being his charge. Chris and Lilly never minded much, It was awkward for Chris for the first few months but from that day forth Lilly was almost always by Chris's side. Even Chris's master eventually warmed to the little girl (though it took a long time) when she showed a large interest in his writings. His largest reason for warming to the little girl is because he sensed an ability to harness healing magics.

It was in this way that the rest of Chris's six year apprenticeship would continue. During this time Chris grew in his strength and ability as a paladin as well as in his relationship with his charge Lilly. Lilly continued to learn at the order and continued her schooling. By the time she was 12, she had gained a small job in the Order's archives and read often. Despite not having formal training as a paladin, several scholars wished to take the small girl in as an apprentice to them because of her knowledge and ability she showed in light magics. However, the order would not have it. They had bent the rules with her once already and they were not about to do it a second time. At the age of 18, Chris, now finished with his apprenticeship, became the newest paladin in the Order of Holy Knights and entered the final stage of his teaching. This was real world practice, there were many ways to go about this but Chris, decided to go with a slightly nontraditional method of joining a guild (obviously a good guild as no dark guilds were included on the list). Lilly was given a choice to stay with the Order or to continue her life with Chris, the young girl who by now was completely infatuated with Chris, unequivocally chose to follow Chris despite his protests about her safety. Still she would have no part of him saying no and forced Chris to take her with him. After much pushing, forcing, and manipulating, Lilly finally bullied Chris into letting him take her along with him.

Chris did not take his chose of guilds lightly though, and for one year Lilly and Chris traveled the countries of Zorgoth together, spending both warm summer evenings and cold winter nights together. They ran into trouble only twice during their travels though and for Lilly this was perhaps the best time of her life. Still, despite all this time she had together with Chris, she was unable to tall him her feelings for him. After another half of year traveling, Chris finally decided to join an old guild that had recently fallen on hard times known as the Dark Cross. Despite their name, and the past few years, the guild had a history of serving the light and Chris felt that because the guild was smaller now, it would be more open to allowing a young Paladin and his word into their folds. So on a cold winter night he walked up to the guilds doors and applied to join the guild.

(more to be added when accepted and know how Scarlet and Ravyn will react to these two)

Guild: Black Cross
Extra: Regards Lilly as the his most treasured wordly thing and will guard her with his life. He's a bit clueless to Lilly's love for him but conflicted about his own feelings over the young girl. He tries to view her as a father would and keep his teachings the most important thing to his heart, but he struggles with it dearly.

Name:Lilly Ferranel
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Size and Structure:
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 92 lb
Body Build: Small and a little short for her age like Chris. She's not very muscled though and is scolded by Chris for not eating enough sometimes.

Appearance: Lilly is a small and lightweight girl who is constantly scolded by Chris for not eating her food. Lilly is a bright girl with large shining blue eyes and her face is almost always lighted in a small smile. She's almost always around Chris though and they seem to be connected at the shoulder. Lilly has managed to keep herself out of most scrapes and fights and as a result she's never had to deal with any serious wounds more then a scrapped knee or one time when a cat bit her.

Class: Supposed to be Chris's apprentice but Lilly is not really a fighter. Chris has tough her a few things with the sword but her real expertise comes in healing.
Class Ability: As mentioned Lilly cannot fight, she knows a little healing and first aid. She's no surgeon and she can't fix broken bones or bring anyone back from the dead, but she can heal up some minor injuries, as long as a wound is not too deep and not too old.
Weapon:
She has a small short sword but is only somewhat proficient in it and refuses to use it. The act of hurting another physically is alien to her.

Personality: Lilly is a child who positively beams. She's almost always got a smile on for someone and has become quite good at hiding any worries or fears she has over the past years. As mentioned before, Lilly is almost always seen with Chris and is easily embarrassed around him. In fact Lilly is very much infatuated with Chris and has been for years, but she's not very courageous and has never gathered the drive to tell him. She makes little effort to hide it because when he is gone she's always a little sadder and her smile not so cheery. Lilly is an artistic child who always carries a writing utensil of some sort with her and paper to draw on. Over the years she has managed to become quite the little artist and has even been commissioned a small amount to do small sketchings for people. Despite this up beat attitude, Lilly is quite for two reasons. The first reason is that Lilly is very shy and introverted. She is known to sometimes even hide behind Chris when meeting new people, a habit she has never quite broken from her early childhood. The second reason is that Lilly is mute. She was born without a voice box and has never spoken a day in her life. She communicates to people through two ways now, either writing notes on her paper and giving them to people, or communicating through a large series of hand symbols that Chris and her invented to communicate. Both of them are obviously fluent in this made up language and when needed Chris will translate for his young charge, though this is rarely needed.

Home: Eldrin
Back-story:
Much like Chris, Lilly was born to a rich noble family as the third child in the line and the Ferranel's first daughter. Her parents had so much planned for her and she was pampered from the moment she was born. However, Lilly was soon realized to not be the child that her parents always wanted. She never cried as a baby, or when she did no sound actually came out and when most children are saying their first words, Lilly remained silent. At the age of four Lilly's doctor finally declared the little girl a mute and her parents, horrified at the doctors results, dropped the child out of their lives at an orphanage in the capital. (at this time, please return to Chris's back story where these two children's story lines will be merging.)

Guild: Black Cross

Extra:As mentioned several times now, Lilly has extremely strong feelings for Chris but not the streangth or courage to actually say anything. She worries almost all the time over whether or not he loves her too in more then just her being his charge.

Relations with guild members:
Lilly Ferranel: TBA

Scarlet: Lilly is well to be frank, very scared of Scarlet. She told Chris about her fears within the first week of being at Dark Cross and he told her that Scarlet is not evil. She's dark for sure but there is goodness in her heart. Chris is an optamist though and Lilly is a bit of a coward. There are times though when Lilly tends to like Scarlet though, her pushing for excellence reminds Lilly of the Order at times and for a breif moment her fear goes away. But then Scarlet slips back into her normal self and makes some comment about killing something. The few times she has seen Scarlet use her powers though were more then frightening for the little girl and while Lilly respects Scarlet as the leader of White Cross and trusts her because Chris does, it may be awhile yet before she can bring herself to actually like the guild leader. Understand her, yes. But like, not yet.

The sun rose brightly upon the shingles of the medium sized town that the guild Black Cross resided in. The sun was still young in the sky but life in the town was already filling with the cries of life as shop owners prepared their stores for the coming day and tradesmen leaving their homes to begin a new day's hard work. Cries such as "Fresh fish, Caught just this morning, Fresh fish here." or "Breakfast pies, hot and steamy, perfect way to start the day." filled the market place as Chris walked through the quickly filling courtyard to collect the food for the day with Lilly walking close at his heels breathing in the heavy aroma of baking bread and sweets. Her eyes were sparkling with a kind of childlike curiosity that Chris smiled at as he moved from stall to stall buying what the guild would need for the day. Grocery shopping was not the kind job you'd expect a paladin and his charge to be doing but Chris did always enjoy the simple things in life, plus it gave him and Lilly the early morning exorcise that was hard to get when one lived inside a city or town.

Lilly's stomach growled and she quickly tugged on Chris's shirt to get his attention, We almost done? she quickly flashed in the secret little hand language the two had made up years ago t ocommunicate, The smell of the bread is making me very hungry. Chris laughed as he sent back his answer, Yes were done now. You can go back and enjoy these nice breakfast pies I purchased for everyone. Chris smiled and held up the small bag of little tiny pies in front of Lilly and watched as her eyes stared at it before she too started laughing. No voice escaped the young girl's lips but her face was bright and cheery.

The pair made their way back slowly, enjoying the warm rising sun on their backs as they took the road to the edge of time and turned towards a rundown abandoned looking building just on the edge of town. Chris wished that Scarlet would take out the funds necessary to fix the exterior of the place up but she never did. Chris didn't ask why though, he guessed that it had something to do with her still living in the past. Though the women was the same age as Chris, she did manage to scare him a little. She had a good soul, it was just the circumstances of her life that had turned her dark. Truthfully Chris felt sorry for Scarlet. He knew from his studies that becoming a Hex was not something done with a person's will, and though he knew very little about her past. The death of the Black Cross leader before her had hurt her. That much was evident. Who was he to question what she did with her house though.

Chris knocked on the door twice to announce that he was back before swinging the front door open to walk in. The interior of the building really was well kept and Chris was happy to notice that both of the women in the guild were up, though it was recent as Ravyn had yet to move far from where she had fallen asleep on the couch the night before. Chris gave them a warm smile as he shut the door and placed the baskets Lilly and him were carrying onto the counter. "Good Morning Ladies." he greeted as unpacked the few groceries they needed and started putting stuff away. "Breakfast is hot and ready when you want it." Chris explained as he placed the breakfast pies on the counter for all four of them to grab.

As Chris was putting away the rest of the food though, Lilly had glanced around and while her mind was on the meat pies, she noticed Scarlet's bandaged and bleeding hand. The women scared Lilly but Chris was hear and it was her duty to at least ask if Scarlet would like the wound healed. Slipping out a pen and slip of paper from her pocket, Lilly quickly jotted down Would you like for me to heal your hand? and approached the older women before handing her the small slip of paper.

Ravyn popped her neck and took another drink, knowing Scarlet didn't like her drinking, but it did calm her down and with it took her longer to become insane with she didn't get any blood. "A Demon huh? Now that is a rarity in these days. Even more so then you or I." She listened to Scarlet, what she said was true. Yeah, maybe take some heat off of me. She thought, but being called back to reality hearing Scarlet mumble White Cross, Ravyn rarely brought them up, but she wasn’t sure if Scarlet knew about the blood lust member, though now knowing she had no idea about it. She was still confused on why exactly the priest left, but Ravyn wasn’t complaining, it was one less person that could kill her in a second, and she didn't like living with someone who could do that, to Ravyn he was almost more dangerous than Scarlet.

"A blood lust member you say? Do think this person is a..." Ravyn shot a look over at Scarlet, both knowing the following words could start something bad between them, and more than just a verbal fight. "You two may get alone huh?" Scarlet continued, just making Ravyn laugh. “Yeah, I bet, we could ever go blood drinking together!” She said sarcastically, watching Scarlet begin to think, "Tell your contacts to keep there ears open information on White Cross. Also keep an ear to the ground for information on the demon. It has...peaked my interests." “Yes ma’am” Ravyn said with a smile like smirk before drinking what was left in the bottle and tossing it across the room and into a basket which held other drunken bottle of ale and wine.

Ravyn watched at Scarlet got some food and begin to eat, thus reminding herself that she will need to feed soon. She listened as Scarlet teased her about eating, other people would be confused about what she said, but Scarlet was the only person that Ravyn knew that knew about her being part vampire. “Yeah, as if. I haven’t even seen myself that way, you don’t know how deadly I would be. So if you want to test…” Ravyn trailed off with a smirk before getting up and letting her hair out of a pony tail and had it cover up some of her eyes, guessing they might be a little blood shot. And hearing a knock on the door, ad reaching her side for her knife but then seeing it was just Chris and Lilly. “Morning to you too.” She said before getting out of their way so they could put whatever they bought away.

“No thanks, I’m not in the mood for breakfast.” Ravyn said, trying to pick the correct words so it wouldn’t exactly be a lie while not leading on about her being a Dhampir, since it had scared a couple other members away, and killed others since Scarlet didn't think could keep their mouth quite from their reaction. She walked back over towards the couch and sat down, putting her feet on the table. “So what are we going to do today. I don’t want to sit here all day doing nothing, I might go insane.” She said, chuckling but keeping her teeth out of sight, since like other vampires she did have fangs that were noticeable by a smile or a laugh. “Hey Lilly, Scarlet doesn't need any healing. A bandaged hand wont slow her down. Now I think Chris needs some help.” Ravyn not letting Lilly heal Scarlet’s hand, mainlyfor slight payback for scaring her.

Scarlet glanced over to see Chris and Lilly had finally returned which brought her mood up a bit. Not because of her missing them but because now they could do more difficult missions, after all killing bandits does get old very very quickly. "Good to see you two are back. I take it the job went well." She said watching Chris put the basket down on the counter. "Good Morning Ladies." he greeted them both in his usual cheerful tone. Scarlet didnt know how he was always so happy but he tended to keep the others in high spirits so she never bothered to question it. "Breakfast is hot and ready when you want it." She remained silent as Ravyn declined the food for reasons obvious to her. "What the hell, a little more to eat want kill me." Scarlet said as she grabbed out one of the meat pie, proceeding to bite down on it.

“So what are we going to do today. I don’t want to sit here all day doing nothing, I might go insane.” Ravyn asked making Scarlet turn toward her and see her feet where prompted up on the table, a horrible habit. She just shook her head for a moment before Lilly handed her a piece of paper that read. Would you like for me to heal your hand? Before she could say anything Ravyn spoke up “Hey Lilly, Scarlet doesn't need any healing. A bandaged hand wont slow her down. Now I think Chris needs some help.” A small smirk came across Scarlet's face, she knew this was Ravyn's "revenge" for her nice awakening earlier. "Im ok Lilly its just a few small cuts." She said before patting the girl on the head. "Besides." Her voice had now turned somewhat darker. "Sometimes it is good to be hurt. It reminds you...that you are still human." She said staring down at her hand. She stood there for a moment lost in the painful memories of the past, before shaking her head to snap herself out of it. "Im fine, this little cut want slow me down." she said bluntly before walking back towards her quarters.

"Oh and we have job request that came in. There is a caravan that needs protection. There are whispers that a rival company has been less than pleased at all their business as of late and have sent out a request to stop and or kill their caravans. We will be protecting one of their main caravans, our job is to make sure it reaches its destination in one piece. "Don't worry, my sources have reviled that the other company spread the rumors them selves, so odds are it is just a scare tactic." She stopped walking for a moment, turning around with a serious look about her face. "If indeed they have been targeted though it will no doubt be a dark guild doing the attacking. The Guild relations have been strained as of late and this could be the skirmish that causes an all out war." A small sadistic smile came across her face. "If the caravan does get attacked the story we spread to the other guilds, it could start the war everyone has been fearing. If this mission turns ugly we aim to kill, no survivors." Scarlet couldn't hide the excitement in her voice as she said the last sentence.

"I will be in my quarters getting ready to head out and thinking on some things. If you have any questions knock first for the sake of your health." With that Scarlet walked back down the hall and into the dark abyss that was her room. Her body almost shook with excitement and the shadows around her seemed to dance as she prayed that the rumors where true, that she would get to kill today.
