Description

Name: Arsille Abdondotter (Among-The-Lost) -- Will be explained at the bottom

Image

Description of appearance: (No, her clothing does not look like that) 6ā€™4 with a command over her body and presence that puts off many people that looks at her. Arsille is meant to be a woman that demands attention and takes no nonsense from anyone. Her hair, tumbling down over her shoulders in white waves, is kept long and loose as she walks smoothly, disguising how tired she is as she moves from one place to another. Her clothing is always from the bodies of white animals, gifted to her after her training had finished and she had become the lĆf verndari for her tribe. White animal bones fashioned into ornaments hang from her ears, and around her neck. Her skin, though slightly tan, shows the white markings of being ice-touched, but the marks only serve to show what her status is. Her body seems to be supple and strong, though in reality, she had fallen in with another tribe that had tried to use her abilities to bolster their strengths and make them better in battle (with her healing abilities, men could march longer, fight longer etc). When she grew too tired and became unable to heal, they beat her, tortured her, and marked her, which is why there is a black design here that she is not able to cover.

Age: Appears to be in her early twenties. She is truly over sixty.

Gender: Female

Rank: She is the Lif Vernadari for ā€œher tribeā€ but is trying to escape.

Power: Her powers manifested in her ability to heal and disguise. For a long time, she had been able to hide the markings, until she came into her full power and assumed the rank of Lif Vernadari. She can heal anyone, as long as it is not their pre-destined time to die, and she is also able to cast a slight disguise over herself and hide the scars that are on her body. Yet, for all the good that she can do, she can also kill, the opposite of her design, for every healer knows how to use poison and while itā€™s not a ā€œpowerā€, she does have the ability to make strong poisons to use against others. Her abilities have weakened her. She is frail, her bones are easily broken and she tires quickly, yet she canā€™t die for the healing abilities that she puts out is only the excess of what she keeps within, which is why ā€œherā€ tribe enjoys using her as sport and as a training tool to get the young men to not be afraid of blood-letting.

Ice-touch: White ā€“ her markings are the same as that of the animal she turns into. She has the spotting of the leopard along her hairline, down the back of her neck and spine, teasing on her lower back, down her pelvic bones, on the back of her hands, her elbows, one on the left side of her throat, settling on her knees and on the tops of her feet.

Mother/Father/Siblings: None that she can recall. Her father was killed during a hunting trip and her mother died in childbirth.

Species: Snow Leopard

Place in Story: Imprisoned by her tribe, trying to run away.

Personality: There is a difference between being quiet and being observant. Arsille only makes herself known when she is needed and otherwise stays away. Sheā€™s as cold as the winter that took her mother, as heartless as the beast that gorged her father and as cruel as the men that torture her. She is a fitting representation of winter. She gives the guise of warmth, at times, but when something happens, she is the first to step forward and go against anyone that stands in her way. She may be a woman imprisoned by her tribe, but she is a fearful adversary for she holds the ultimate power. She doesnā€™t have to heal.

Back-story: She was born to a tribe that was slowly descending into madness as the rumors of Ice-Touched became more and more common. Her father, a hunter, left to go on a hunting expedition and was killed. Her mother later died in childbirth, leaving Asille alone. Asille was Ice-Touched from birth, but her motherā€™s ability to disguise the pale markings that ran over her daughterā€™s skin permitted her to hide. Her tribe, due to always covering their women in full veil, did not see Asilleā€™s face until she was made into the grand healer. Then, it was too late. To kill her was to go against the godsā€¦but they could punish her, and punish her they did. Her life is now an unending hell broken only when it snows and she is permitted to go and be in the storm, as long as her guard is there to bring her back. Asille is looking forward to the day when she is able to find more of her kind, but then againā€¦she may not fit in. After all, the madness of her tribe did pass to herā€¦ She is meant to protect life, and her gifts enable her to do that, but beyond that, she has learned how to speed the passing of someone that she is not meant to save and ease their suffering.

Other: ā€œAmong-The-Lostā€ is the Anglicized name of her tribe. Because her tribe are bloodthirsty, set against everyone that isnā€™t their tribe, they are thought to have fallen away from the gods and are wanderers, phantoms. Each member of the tribe is either a white gyrfalcon (as the men tend to be) or white wolves (as the women tend to be) sometimes, other animals are born. Asille is the only snow-leopard of her tribe, but there is a white bear, a white falcon, a white ram, and a white dog. All close to her in age.

Tribe name: meĆ°al Ć” glataĆ°

Species or Open: Open. To a point. Most men are white gyrfalcons, most women are white wolves. Only with Asilleā€™s current group of age-mates are there any that are not those two animals.

Beliefs: They believe in the God of War. Yet not a god of fire and heat, but a cold calculating god that is more intune with their constant winter landscape than anything else. The color white is reserved for those that are high in rank and all white animals that are slaughtered, are made into clothing for those people. Children do not have a long childhood as they are put into a job from a young age and taught. No one is exempt from this rule. There is no marriage. People stay with one another for as long as they desire and then move on, though moving on is often uncommon. Men are allowed to take more than one wife (because women do tend to die in childbirth) but he must take her sisters, and no one outside of her family (itā€™s meant to keep the peace).

View of 'Ice-touched': They are to be used and discarded when they no longer have a use.

Located: Cold tundra. They have adapted to surviving in severe cold and can dress in the lightest of layers. Of course, if they head to where it is warm, they quickly get sick and die.

Current Goals: The eradication of all Ice-Touched.

Specialize In: Hunting, warfare and weapons making.

Problems they face: Warm weather is spreading up their once frigid tundra. For the first time, they are seeing grass, feeling true warmthā€¦and it is making them sick. Their healer is saving them, gradually helping them get used to the warmth, but if she escapes, the tribe dies.

Ideals/Culture(Optional): Women are expected to hunt, just as much as the men. The men direct the women to where the prey are, and the women attack. It is the women that hold the power in this tribe, and the women that dictate the laws (because they are the ones that hunt and give birth), the men make the weapons and jewelry and both genders are known to be fierce in battle. Yet, women while they are in their human form must go out covered head to toe in white (blue, black, red ā€“ depending on their rank/age) veils and men outside of the immediate family cannot look on them. Those of this tribe are able to walk silently, hunt well and blend in with the snowy landscape. They are called the Phantoms, the ghosts that come with the snow. Yet, they are a dying tribe. Their madness and encroaching warmth is making their lives difficult.

Other: Hope you never meet up with this tribe. Where does their madness come from? Asille knows it comes from the result of constant warfare and battle, the body always stressed to the point of near-breaking. The tribe is always ready for a fight.

So begins...
