LiesseiL

"Why must it make sense?"

0 · 384 views · located in The Infinite Plane

a character in “The Infinite Plane”, as played by Zalgo

Description

Image
Name: LiesseiL

Gender: None

Appearance: This god's appearance is a bizarre otherworldly disc of golden metal with features, suspended over a simple ragged robe which is supported by seemingly nothing. It's hands are simple metal discs with prongs that are almost always stained red with the blood of many. Set in the main disc which is it's head are two sockets, one of which holds an eye which drips with blood almost as though it is always crying while the other socket is empty save for a key suspended from a string.

Personality: (WIP)

Abilities: It's abilities cover the realm of the mind. It can see and speak into the minds of many, change one's perceptions of reality, grant many forms of knowledge and can see well into the past, the present and to a lesser extent into the multitude of branching possibilities the future holds. It is able to narrow down the list of possible futures to get a somewhat accurate prediction of what will happen, although the further down the timeline it looks the less it is able to narrow down these possibilities as the branches multiply quickly.

It's weapon, The Vicious Cycle, is a four pronged wheel of scythes which possess a hypnotic effect that causes beings fighting it to become intrinsically fascinated with cutting or otherwise dividing oneself into pieces.

Position: God of the Mind, Patron of Prophets, The Watcher of The Lines.

Description: (WIP)

At first there was an idea. The thought that wondered why it was. It looked back but there was a set date it couldn't see past. It could tell it was a deadline but was it set as a minimum or a maximum? Was it the beginning or the end? Perhaps when all is said and done here is where it will all come back to. It didn't make sense right now but why should it? There was no reason why it couldn't.

Before it was a massive collage of paths, nearly infinite possibilities which lied spread before them. Of course, this mind boggling chart quickly folded when the crystalline deity created the first objects to exist, well besides themselves. There was one god who wanted to be born before he was even born but he was just being silly. After drawing a circle in the path's the nonsense sorted itself out. Now what was interesting was the one goddess who seemed scared, alone in this void. The goddess of light served a very useful purpose, both now and later. Without her, many of the more interesting possibilities would not be. Both life and light would be necessary, but one step at a time.

First, the stage needed to be set. With all these crystals breaking apart and reflecting light it knew which crystals it needed to stop and where. With a mere touch it ceased the momentum of a few strategically placed crystals and angled them so they reflected the light onto the cast. All gods and goddesses were thus illuminated, their existences becoming visible to each other. LiesseiL was the exception to this though, keeping itself outside the light for now. It kept itself out of view, standing exactly where it knew it wouldn't be seen. After all, it still had to read it's lines. Without knowing what exactly to say when it'd have to fall back on improv, a skill which few people could master. For now, the other gods could remain content with the knowledge that each other exists sans LiesseiL. It had it's own work cut out for it right now. It was not a time for laziness.

It proceeded to create a realm of the mind, a space which existed within the entangled realities where minds both already were and soon to become. It would become the Dream Lands, a place where time and reality mean very little and both the impossible and the impending can be seen. Worlds that did not exist, realms which had yet to exist and places that already existed danced in a fluid stream of consciousness which was what the mind's realm would be woven from. As it dreamed it observed the interactions between the other gods, listening in from it's place in the dark.

It had been some time since The Beginning, five days to be precise. While the deities played it had been hard at work. Deep in a trance down in the darkness of the void it wove the lines which sprawled from a single route of this reality into a realm of It's own, a realm not of the physical realm like the others but of the mind. It was a place of rest where thoughts and images could play and entertain the mind while it recuperates. The others will call it Dream or so it foresaw.

This world was well ahead of the world that was currently starting to form. Life had already bloomed, forests and jungles covering the lands. Unlike the material world time was more flexible, features of the past mingling with prospects of the future. What the world the other deities were building would look like the realm of Dream already was.

Of course, of the paths it saw them take one particular happening perplexed it. Back before the world that's becoming even was there was a deity who desired death and destruction enough to kill his own son. That's not what was confusing to it. What was confusing was the numerology. "Why six?" It asked itself. It was a rather good question, one it lacked an answer to for once. It would have assumed it a result of preference but he didn't seem to have had conscious control over the event which formed his realm. It just seemed to pan out that way. How odd.

He was of little matter now though. Right now something else had caught it's attention. A rather unique life form was born from the surface of the planet. Unlike them it was born from the creation, not of The Beginning. It was not like the life born of the number fixated one but closer to them in many ways. With sentience this enigma of flesh had an interesting mind. It's greatest feature was it's curiosity. It had few paths now but the possibilities were numerous indeed. It decided it most interesting to open up a couple and see where they take it.

As it had given it something interesting to contemplate it decided to give the flesh being something interesting in return. It didn't even need to be even remotely close to it to bestow these gifts of knowledge for it's mind reached far and it was not content with having itself be seen unless the paths which that action would set it upon were truly fascinating. As of this moment they weren't so it didn't.

First it granted the primeval flesh giant knowledge of the goddess of life itself, Selka. Should the knowledge carry through as the most likely line foretells It could now know exactly who she was, what she was and for the briefest of moments exactly where she resided currently. A most interesting conversation is yet to be had. It savored the idea of hearing what they had to speak about. The possibilities were now expanded exponentially.

Secondly it granted the flesh clad giant a gift of it's own. Improving upon it's cognisance it attempted to grant the giant the ability to know exactly how long it's been alive, right down to the second. Should the gift carry through as the most likely line foretells it would forever on know it's exact age.

Then came the moment to observe, to witness the events it had set forth.

With no warning, Ulm's mind was plagued by visions, inflicting stinging pain strong enough to make him let out a long and deep grunt. His thoughts haunted by the warped image of a creature of light with constantly changing lengths of hair and colors of clothes. He collapsed on the ground and tried to force the thoughts out of his head, smashing his fists towards the ground and woods below, cracking and moving the ground.

Then he stopped.

He looked at the skin of his fists, craggy and fleshy in texture. He was perturbed by the thought of his birth. He knew he was born just days ago, yet he felt like he had been here always. He stood up and tried to temper the pain of thought, and started to wander towards a grove he somehow knew the location of.

The non-god made it's way towards it's destination but the journey was long indeed. Much was happening and there was still work to be done. Plenty of opportunities to further fray the paths and open more possibilities presented themselves but currently it had a quandary to resolve.

While it was true that it did reign over the dream world almost unquestionably there was still that veil of reality that kept it from truly going there. Worse, the tolls of reality could still influence it. The threat of having it's possibilities cut short was still, albeit unlikely, a possibility in and of itself.

It's concerns were validated as the god of crystals shattered it's island, sending shining shards of star metal out in a multitude that was practically incalculable. Of course, LiesseiL didn't need to calculate it since it already knew how many star shards there were. There were seven multiplied by ten to the power of twenty three, rounded down. It had seen this event coming so it was safely out of harms path as neither the shock wave nor the star metal shrapnel threatened it's current position. The crystalline god's purpose for this act was a bit perplexing however. It never saw the need for something to guide itself by, it already knew exactly where it was, as did it know where everything else was. It even illuminated the other gods and goddesses using crystalline mirrors which reflected the light onto the others like spotlights. The need for stars served little purpose other than sheer aesthetic, at least as far as it was concerned.

Still, the endless march of time would not cease and action was necessary. Despite solving a problem that didn't need to be solved the crystal god's actions had presented a resource which previously wasn't previously available. Weaving about the darkness between these star shards it traveled the path none would seek as it had foreseen. All the other gods could see were the results of it's actions as star after star blinked out of view. It was taking stars, tucking them away within it's robe were the light they emitted couldn't be seen.

After scooping up about a quarter of a galaxy's worth of stars it had about enough material for it's project. It's next stop: The grand forge. Hovering by the world of mechanical parts set upon a rather ample forge it looked beyond the walls to the minds within. Two gods sat, watching the world and discussing some matters.

It knew the design of the forge like the back of it's own golden claw but given the structures lack of a mind there was little control it possessed over the forge. It could see what it would do but given the adaptability of machines if it were to change or adapt in any way it was quite conceivable that it could be caught within. With knowledge there was caution and LiesseiL was nothing if not careful. It simply placed the star metal within a receptacle for materials, depositing them in a place which the owner of this forge could access with ease.

Keeping it's form placed exactly where none would look and shielding it's presence from the mind's eye it loftily drifted about while it extended it's mind to the forge deities split mind. It was quite a curious anomaly indeed. A being born split between genders, it's mind fractured yet held together enough to command the shared body. In a way it was sort of cute.

Nonetheless it needed a particular device and the female counterpart was deemed less likely to tamper with the final product. It incepted in her mind the knowledge of what it was it sought. A complex blueprint was transferred to her mind, complete with a list of instructions outlining the construction of said device. The instructions were quite strange, the process of construction being almost bizarre in application. Only a truly talented mind could understand just how the pieces would fit together like they would have to for it to work.

The final product she could see was a door. Just a plain metal rectangular door with a frame yet not set into any walls or anything. As a final step in the instructions the door was to be placed at the furthest extrusion from the forge planet. What was the purpose of the door? That was one of the two details that it did not include. It deemed it appropriate that it not share with her what the door does or how it works for both answers were irrelevant to the process of building it. Were she to open the door herself out of curiosity it would simply open, taking the deity nowhere but through the door.

But it knew how it worked and it definitely had a purpose in mind for it.
